What's a good reliable revolver that can be concealed easily and won't cost me an arm and a leg? I'm in kind of a bind here, I live in a shitty part of town and my neighborhood has seen an outbreak of burglaries/robberies. I have a good shotgun for home defense, and want a revolver for self defense because I'm really comfortable with them. I was thinking about pic related, but can't find any for less than $500.

A used j-frame chambered for .38spl +p is exactly what you're looking for
And besides, if you're on a budget why are you looking the expensive versions?
>>31746424
I just used the first pic I found of an SP101 and didn't realize it was the Wiley one. I wanted a .357 because of the duality of the ammo I can use. All the revolvers and even semis in my area are priced at msrp for used items too, so that doesn't help.

>>31746385
i agree
s&w j-frame .38spec
used j-frames can be found all over the place for sub-$500

What with all the varieties of ARs now and everything.
Yes.

It still finds uses for police forces and vehicle crews, but if you're wondering if it still has use as a standard issue weapon for infantry, then no, its day has passed.
hey /k/ whats your opinion on air rifles?
>>31746252
They have their place.
Great way to introduce a kid to firearms and marksmanship. Still fun to fuck with for pests too.
Wonderful way to end pests where noise can be a concern. Ie inna suburb
Let's say you had a friend that was on the fence about gun ownership in America. He's rational but has some reservations from years of indoctrination in the standard gun control narrative. What is the one image, video, article, etc that you'd give this person over the Internet to convince them to embrace the 2nd Amendment?
>>31746171
A copy of the 2nd Amendment

Welp
That can't be good
I thought A-10 Warthogs were unkillable?
>>31746164
No confirmation?
The fact that their social media accounts aren't plastered with images of them jumping up and down like apes on the wing of a downed A-10 is plenty confirmation that they're talking out of their ass.
>>31746300
Saudi handlers are probably trying to keep it as hush as possible until recovery teams can get their hands on the wreckage.
>>31746672
Is there even anything classified on an A-10? That bird is ancient.
Is a remington model 700 a good rifle in. 308 to buy for hunting and general home defense

how many mags do you keep loaded in an emergency in home defense?
All of them
Enough
Give me one (1) I. good reason to not keep every single mag you own loaded at all times.
Alright, /k/owboys, listen up.
I'm getting into Old West reenacting, the blank shooting kind.
Dubs pick my primary sidearm and longarm, trips pick my monicker, only pre-1900 guns will do.
Also, cowboy guns thread.
Colt Single Action Army and Winchester Model 94, the two best cowboy guns ever made.

Why are women so invariably stupid?
>>31746320
Because they are raised that way, and they're raised that way because daddies think women are stupid.
Basically, men like you (if you were a father to a daughter) are why women can't think logically.
does the military/soldiers have legends and heroes ? if so who are they

Hey guys just curious how easy/difficult it is to obtain a Concealed Carry license in Massachusetts. I'm 20, turning 21 next month and would like to have my license and a firearm to protect my grilfriend and soon to be child (she is 2 months pregnant). We are looking to move someplace new and I want to be prepared for anything.
I have taken safety courses before but they were when I turned 18 so I know I'll need to retake a course right before I turn 21 or soon after.
Is the application process difficult? Chances of being denied? (No criminal record, no felonies, just some speeding tickets) And is "to defend my family if necessary" considered a reasonable want to have a license forthe application?
Thanks guys, want to do this asap and before the 2nd amendment gets accidentally deleted by Hillary.

Once you have ceased living with an unmarried woman in monstrous sin post a new thread and I will happily provide you assistance.

>carry permit
>MA
Wew lad. You know that state just extrajudiciously banned almost all semi-autos because the AG is a soccer mom, right? You're gonna have a hard time getting the fucking permit to BUY a gun, let alone carry it. Worst state for gun rights.
Im curious if my gas mask filter has asbestos in it. Also, what filters do m65 german gas masks use and are they safe?
>>31745902
Have this exact same mask, I'll do some research and let you know
>>31745902
Do you know what kind of filter you have? As far as I read, it depends on the type of filter and whether or not it has been damaged in anyway. Asbestos filters are layered in such a way that they shouldn't cause any harmful side effects, but then again it all depends on the make and year of the filter.
It shouldn't cause any respiratory issues. The charcoal filter will catch most, if not all of the asbestos particles that may make up the first layer of the filter. Even if it doesn't, getting asbestosis in twenty years is infinitely better than breathing in the particles that you're trying to avoid by wearing the mask.
I thought this seemed too good to be true.
>>31745856
What gives?
>>31745856
It's garbage ammo from every test I've seen.
Unfortunately I'm stuck carrying it until my HST's get delivered. Everyone around me is sold out of defensive ammo that isn't completely garbage.
>>31746376
The tests I've seen it did okay but they actually have the ft-lbs misprinted on the 9mm and I think they know it.
I'm going to call them in the morning, they're closed now. I'll let you know what they say.
To clarify, they have 374 ft-lbs ammo labelled as 443 ft-lbs ammo.
Help me pick a new handgun, /k/.
First handgun I owned was a Kel-Tec P32. Nice gun, looked exactly like pic related. Shot it maybe 300 times, never had a problem with it. Traded it for a dirtbike, now wish I kept it.
Basically I am looking for a small pistol like the P32, nothing full size. Also, it must be 9mm. The 32 was nice, but it was more expensive to buy ammo wise than 9mm was (at the time).
I like the Kimber solo, but finding one under 600$ is impossible.
Trying to keep it no more than $500 out the door...
The gun I would love to get
A few spring to mind.
>Ruger LC9
>S&W M&P Shield
>Kahr Cm9
Pretty sure I've seen the Beretta Nano, and Glock 43 for well under 500 as well.
These are all single stacks, by the way.
M&P Shield
How do you kill it, /k/?
Hard mode: No airstrikes or artillery.
Extreme mode: Man-portable direct fire weapons only.
