Has anyone seen Hacksaw Ridge yet?
How does it hold up as a /k/-approved war movie. The trailer makes it seem too Hollywood-y.
>>31870743
It's Gibson's son, and he's directing, so it will def be wildly inaccurate and hollywoody, but if it's anything like We Were Soliders, then I'll probably still enjoy it.
>>31870767
i rewatched we-were soldiers a while ago and it was pretty okay until the retarded USA USA ending where they just charge and win out of sheer luck.
>>31870767
We were soldeirs was extrenely accurate though.
Generally wanting share stories from ranges and lgs. Lgs and range worker so I'll share the ones I've picked up
>Be retail supervisor covering front desk because busy
>Guy comes in
>"Y'all give the Navy SEAL special forces discount?"
>We give military discounts yea
>"Nah man my buddy said you have the special forces SEAL discount
>Nope just military in general
>Check the guy out, turns out to have Navy VA card
>Wearing a hat in it for some reason
>"Yea man you can see I'm wearing my unit hat in my picture so I ain't frontin"
>Cool. Do you want to rent any guns tonight?
>"Yea the P226 that's what I used in the service"
>Every fourth word out of his mouth is special forces
>Get the guy his stuff and send him to the range to meet up with his friends
>Rush over to RSO so I can watch shit show unfold
>Manager on duty, RSO, and trainer all join me

cont.
>We watch as he locks back slide and tries sending it home using the decocker
>topkek.jpg
>Finally figures out where the slide catch is and shuts it
>He loads mag and immediately assumes enhanced spread leg chick lean stance
>Pulls trigger and stabs forward with pistol
>Tries several more times
>Cocks hammer and tries again
>Drops mag and racks slide a bunch then puts mag back in and doesn't rack it
>ASSUME THE POSITION
>Starts pulling trigger and stabbing forward again
>Wash rinse repeat
>We send trainer out to help
>Guy has no idea what he's doing
>Shows trainer
>Trainer picks up gun off shooting bench and racks it
>"Try it now boss"
>Gun miraculously works
>Guy starts making excuses and thanks trainer for the "refresher"
>Trainer leaves and relays story to us
>tippytopkek.jpg
That's the story of how our trainer became a Navy Ranger SEAL trainer. The guy later came out when he was done and gave us back our gun with a chambered round. We weren't going to say anything about the stolen valor thing but we had to at that point. MOD told him about the safety violation and that we have a lot a veterans that work with us that take serious offense to stolen valor and to not do it. Guy starts going on about SEAL Team 2 and how he "ain't frontin". Apparently he also had a trident tattooed on his chest.
>pic related whenever I meet these people
>The story of the sperg gun store owners.
>>31870627
Lel who fuckin cares if the dumbshit is stolen valor. You got his money. He paid good money to go shoot someone else's gun at a range that probably has a bunch of shitty rules and he couldn't even figure that out. Calling out stolen valor probably just assures he won't be coming back to spend his hard earned shekels.
October, they said.
Beretta is pushing me towards a USP Compact or SDP. Apparently, the Ameriglo sights need to be evaluated and approved at HQ.
>>31870581
I really want one.
>email Dawson Precision asking if they plan on making fiber optic front sights for the PX4
>they reply that because they couldn't secure the slide to install a sight, they decided not to make one for them
I might just get a CZ RAMI, put some Cajun parts in it and try to convince myself I can't conceal a PX4 Compact in the first place.
Fuck those Ameriglos, just gimmie a red fiber optic front for the PX4.

Dead in the water

Probably. Complete radio silence from Beretta. They're hyping the new (?) CX4 on social media lately.
My NE history professor found an old gun in a barn in Maine buried under years of sawdust. Our class is trying to figure out what it is, so I'd thought I'd go to you guys for advice. He thinks it's probably from the 1800's. I have some pictures for you guys. Help/direction would be appreciated.
Post a pic of the action, it looks like a percussion cap from the angle.
How does someone train his reaction speed for close quarters?

CS:GO

Kys
>>31870227
repetition of proper technique starting slow and speeding up naturally without forcing it is the way to train any movement. however, what do you understand under "close quarters"?
So what's /k/'s opinion on the Zastava M70A? Thinking of picking one up as my first pistol, I need to stay in a budget so I thought a cheap 9mm with relatively good opinions would be a decent place to start

It's literally a more refined Hi-Point.
I had one and it ran like clockwork. Extra magazines were very hard to find though.
The safety is basically useless, so don't trust your life to it. It's also too big to conceal carry effectively. The odd grip angle also gave me accuracy problems and I was shooting consistently low, but your mileage may vary.
The gun can be repaired with a hammer, a screwdriver, and a bottle of vodka.
I paid $200 NIB for mine a year or two ago.
Something about the back end of the top of the Tok always looked ugly and wrong to me, but I'm a huge 1911fag so that's probably it.

Now that Hillary will win and Russian nuclear war is imminent. Is it advisable to go underground in a DIY shelter or is it better for a city/federal shelter? Will bodies of water be contaminated and be considered hazardous enough that you must flee from an area with flowing water?
Should you be ready for nuclear winter? The Chinese sales day is near so I can buy cheap Chinese survival kits.
>>31869788
Best option would be to move away from the US. Australia is probably a good option.
>>31869797
I can survive nuclear firestorms but I can't survive drop bear banter.
>>31869788
Consider the fact that public shelters will be stuffed with people you don't know, who don't care about you or your health, safety and valuables. Look at the chaos and looting during Katrina and imagine that but on a far, far worse scale.
Your best bet is to get the fuck out of dodge, then stay inside until the fallout has fallen.
Anon, you are Earths last hope, no one else is willing to stand up to them. you're all geared up, you have been sent to remove kebab one last time, but to do that, you make have the most epic entrance the world has ever seen. so, What gun are you holding, and what song is playing when you make your awesome entrance?

Propaganda and fighting spirit.
If you constantly push statesponsored nationalistic propaganda into the head of everyone they will be more motivated to fight and never give up.
However if you do that you cant have nice things like freedom

So are we doing it this year or are the wounds still fresh from last year's utter fuckups? I was one of the few people who got no matchup.

Are there any advantages or disadvantages on using polymer-frame guns?
>>31869422
Polymer is lighter and cheaper. Less mass means more recoil, and polymer isn't as strong as steel or aluminum, however I haven't had any problems with my popular polymer framed 9mm
Advantages:
Lighter
Disadvantages:
Scary-looking so people want to ban them
>>31869422
Yes. It turns you into a faggot. As to whether that is good or bad, well thats kinda up to your own opinion.
What was /k for Halloween
I was Brump
Half of the neighborhood loved it and the rest were too busy deleting emails to pass out candy
