Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense (MND) Wednesday declined to comment on speculation regarding the Liaoning's return route, but maintained that it has been keeping a close eye on the aircraft carrier's movement.

The MND said it would respond to situations arising from the Liaoning's voyage.

A PRC foreign ministry spokesman on Tuesday declined to elaborate on the motives of the Liaoning exercises when asked whether they were meant to assert Beijing's sovereignty claims to the South China Sea.

"You can ask the military for details about the aircraft carrier. As for China's position on the issue of the South China Sea, it is very clear and there is no need for me to repeat it here," said the spokesman, Geng Shuang, at a regular press conference.

The CNA cited Geng as declining to confirm the return route of the Liaoning. Geng said the Liaoning was carrying out plans to conduct scientific research and training in the South China Sea and to examine the capabilities of its weaponry systems.

The Brits chickened out and went the STOVL variant due to cost and personnel training. The Chinese have bigger ambitions but they are funny if they think this is anything more than valuable training.

It'd probably create more problems than benefits.

The increased size would mean they need to take in more calories to function so they need a lot more food, would require larger clothes/armor/weapons, as well as larger facilities, creating a logistical nightmare if you're fielding multiple of them at the same time. That's without mentioning transporting them across the ocean if you need to do that.

Plus if they get injured (which they will since they'd be easy targets for everything from normal firearms to anti-tank weapons and artillery) it'd be very different to treat their wounds. If they move near a building rigged with explosives and get shrapnel from apartment-ied in them, teams of surgeons in hazmat/diver style suits would need to enter the wound to remove it, or you'd use mechs or giant doctors.

It'd also put a huge strain on the mind of the soldiers, a study in 2013 found human fingertips to be sensitive enough that "if your finger was the size of the Earth, you could feel the difference between houses from cars".

Getting shot in the hands or using them to shield regular size soldiers from explosives, or injuries to other similarly sensitive areas, would be very painful and would be difficult to treat (imagine the procedure for removing 200+ rounds of 7.62 from a giant human hand (and everywhere else too), or just imagine what that'd feel like having that many small injuries with stuff stuck in them.)

Mine's a Bulgarian from Sportsman's Guide. Fit and finish is flawless but I ended up getting one with a worn out hammer spring. It can't store enough power anymore to fire the gun reliably in double or single action. I have to pull the trigger several times to get rounds to go off. Personally I'd recommend getting one somewhere else. Not sure who still has them.

No idea. I changed from Winchester Rangers to Hornady XTP 90gr. after seeing a ton of tests. I will say, .380 has come a long way in bullet design. I bet you JMB would be pretty damn impressed.

In terms of gun laws, if youre white youre probably good. Its quite standard if you live near one of the cities in a good part of town your house might have a panic room and guns.
