Has anybody on /k/ shot someone in self defense? There have been some armed robberies near my neighborhood and it kind of got my brain buzzing about actually having to shoot someone. Edgelords not welcome.

I shot a man in Reno.

Just to watch him die?

So /k/, Will Trump's Navy have it's own version of the Somali Pirates?
>>32551850
Isn't that go in contradiction to what he said in the campaign trail: that we should to take less of an active role in the proceedings of other nations. The Navy wants a bigger fleet for three reasons: ops tempo, maintenance and to keep meeting our commitments to other nations around the world.
It seems kinda silly that he say's America first and that everything that we have gotten into in the past 20 years is a "mess" then turn around and OK a naval fleet size where one of the main justifications for that size is so we can help out other nations by guaranteeing their safety so they can focus on establishing or maturing the institutions that lead to democracy.
Not even baiting here, I really think Trump was a terrible choice (not like Hil Dawg was any better by ANY stretch of the imagination).
>>32551998
Wow its like he is a compulsive liar or something! Who would have known?

Hi, /k/.
I recently obtained a Ruger 10/22 and a Redfield 6x magnification scope (has 5 gold stars on it if that makes a difference.
Since it's a fixed magnification, I tried to get a rail that would allow me to see my original iron sights. It doesn't show in the picture, but the small peep hole does not provide enough room to see the rear sight. I ordered it on amazon, in which the only review stated that it worked for theirs.
I was going to get a different rail so that I could adequately use the sights, but then the thought came to me that I could just drill the recess even deeper so that I could see, but I didn't want to bubba it up.
I'm presented with three options:
1. Bubba the rail so the sight it visible
2. Order a separate rail that DOES work
3. Order new sights that can be seen either through the hole in the rail or in the ring base
I would prefer to order new sights, maybe peep sights. What would you guys suggest?
>>32551766
Doesn't look like the factory rail unless they changed them. I think it should be lower.
The peep sight option might involve mounting the new rear where the rail currently is, so keep that in mind.
I will send you a set of super tall see through leopold 10/22 mounts free if I didn't throw them away and they're still in the box of stuff I don't use in the basement.
>>32551766
sell it and build a NDS 10/2
>>32551864
It's not factory, but special ordered because it was advertised that I would be able to still use the stock sights. It was false advertising. If it were milled but a millimeter or two lower, It might have worked.
If there are options for other sights to use that may work(a little higher sitting) then I would invest because apparently the stock sights are terrible when compared to aftermarket ones.
Aside from the fact that they are difficult to find, are these things any good?
are they worth 1200 dollars?
I'm not a fan of bullpups generally but it looks really nice, and I like the sound of one with a good trigger
>>32551677
>5.56 blaster
>1200 dollerydoos
It shoots bullets just like every other gun. Unless you really like the look, it's not worth spending that much on a gun chambered in the most standard caliber there is.
>>32551733
>this is how poorfags justify their bargain big guns
>>32551733
there's the RFB but that shit is 2000 dollars and the front ejecting is weird
seems like a bit much
The gas tube on my SKS is a bit wobbly. Is this normal?
>>32551488
>built by illiterate, drunk, communists
Yes
>>32551505
Well mine was built by a bunch of slants
>>32551488
I've got a few russian SKS and the one that's the most wobbly, beaten, worn out and rusty (well it's not longer rusty, was rusty when I bought it) groups the best and always goes bang.
You're worrying needlessly, it's normal.
Red pill me on the legion etrangere (french foreign legion) /k/
I'm studying in Europe and I'm only a train ride away from the nearest recruiting center, and I'm seriously contemplating it. My desire to know more has is intense

how bout ask in a less retarded manner
>>32551415
fuck off nerd
From what I have heard from /k/ (do your own research to back this up)
The Legion is like the spetznaz, where you can be in it but only as a cook, mechanic etc. You can end up a POG, not everyone in the legion are commando operators. Most of the time they're full in the combat departments but the POG departments are always needing people.
Looking to buy a pistol for carry(live in Texas). Have little experience with pistols as I mostly used rifles and shotguns. I have ZERO brand loyalty so looking for input on any and all options. I'd prefer I higher caliber(.40, .45, .357)
Stopping in at the local gun store today I handled a few and kinda liked a Glock 30S. I've got big hands and the double stacked grip was a nice feel. So if anyone has any feedback on the 30S, I'm all ears. But again, I'm open to any and all options.
>Inb4: glock hurr durr
Last time I was on /k/ glock seemed quite the meme/shittalk subject. I don't give a shit. Just want honest input.
>>32551095
If you have no preference at all, then a Glock is usually the go-to. People shit talk glock all the time, but really they're the most handgun handgun that ever did handgun. The Glocknade meme came from early gen .40s using vastly overcharged ammo (which will ruin ANY gun) and blowing. Go to a range that does rentals and try one. If you don't like it, rent another brand and try again. You'll find a pistol you like eventually.
>>32551095
Can't go wrong with a glock nowadays. If you don't want to shoot 9 I say skip .40 and go straight to .45.
>>32551095
I also have big hands and I <3 my 17

Is the second to last one a movie?
Is there any point to non-SF Airborne forces anymore?
Will there ever again be a large scale combat airdrop?
1. No.
2. No.
The same as ceremonial cavalry units still riding horses and military bands to play marching music, they are just leftover legacy units that get kept on because antiquated reggies believe the tradition and shiny badges win wars bullshit.
>>32550259
They can attack airfields and other strategic points of interest that ground forces can't get to quickly, so they still have a reason to be around. I could see Israel doing it to Egypt or some other country.

Thoughts on Stealthgear? Can I get a req on a holster for my g43? Currently using a cheap Tagua :(
>>32549678
Stealthgear is fine.
T-Rex Arms also makes some nifty holsters. Like anon said, SG is highly recommended.
JM Custom makes very good quality holsters. Look into their IWB one for the Glock 43. They actually have those ready to ship instead of having to wait 2 months like I did.
Hey /k/, MAfag here,
I've already decided on my first pistol being a Beretta M1935 since one's at a local shop for $250,
but for my first rifle, I'm stuck between these two, pretty much the least cucked options in the State aside from Mini-14 and M1A,
Troy pump action rifle or FN PS90.
It's worth noting that the PS90 can only have 10 rnd mags, meanwhile I can find pre-ban AR15 30 rnd mags for the Troy pump action rifle, and the Troy is around $800 while the PS90 is $1,500
/k/'s thoughts? I mean, I think I just pretty much said that the Troy is better but I'd like other opinions. Also MA thread.
>>32549663
Just get whatever you want and tell the people who took away your rights with out your consent to go fuck themselves.
>>32549663
move to fucking NH or RI.
>>32549742
This, or get the Mini-14 or M1A.
.22 Magnum bullpup is cool and all but 10 rd cap is cuck'd af. Not worth it.
Pump action rifle = cuck'd as fuck as well.
Reminder that kicks have never been successfully used against an enemy in warfare.
