Why do movies exaggerate the hardness of defusing terrorist IEDs?
i'm talking about the "Which wire do i cut" bullshit
As we all know bombs (take a C4 charge for example) are made of
>the detonator (usually a phone vibrator hooked to some batteries, or an electric trigger)
>electric cord to link between explosives and detonator
>secondary explosive (like a PETN cord that makes a small boom to activate the primary charge, the big boom)
>primary explosive (the white cheese known as C4, the real deal)
so, to defuse it is to cut the link between the detonator and the secondary explosive
Why do movies display it as a complex thing? like just cut the damn wire
thoughts?

OP here, i got the primary explosives and secondary explosives mixed up
primary explosive is 'output explosive'
and secondary explosive are 'primary explosive' (the blasting cap)

I'm about to buy an Springfield M1A. I thought about FN SCAR 17, but they're a bit beyond what I'm willing to spend (unless you think it's worth it, but I'll have to wait longer for my first gun).
My question is, what kind of material do you guys use to wrap your guns? Is there a type of blanket that's preferred (outside of a case)?

Why aren't you watching the inauguration you fucking commie

You were supposed to post tanks not tracked pizza delivery vehicles
are jet packs viable in the battle field
just imagine
>walking in an urban area
>it's an ambush
>you fly up take a high ground away from the shooting and see where thy are
or
>you fly high enough to run away from the ambush
or
>you and your squad shoot the enemy
>fly of before they can react
or
>you shoot the enemy from top of a building
>use the jet pack to jump from it and soften the landing
or
>you use the jet pack to get high ground and snipe the enemy
etc
>>32714508
USmil seems to think quad copter drones big enough to carry a person like they're riding a motorcycle will be much more viable.
>>32714508
Yes. They are EXTREMELY viable, especially in urban combat as they allow rapid vertical scaling and three dimensional points of entry. Only, naturally they would have to work like they do in video games.

6.5 Creedmore M14 / M21 / M39 when?
>>32714082
Coming soon.
It says right there on the picture.
>chambering a rifle that is known to have accuracy issues and is notoriously hard to accuratize/keep accurate in precision rifle cartridge
y tho

Is it the ar 10 or 15 frame the creedmore uppers are intended for?
Mark my words. The P320 will be the gun of the year
>won the MHS contract
>P320 X-Five coming out
>P320 RX Carry coming out
>P320 RX coming out
>P320 RX being the first optic ready handgun just under $800
The P320 is going places and there's nothing you can say about it. And I say this as someone who likes the Glock 19.
>>32713989
I agree. Pity it's such a fuckugly gun, though.
Sigs are trash.
>but muh military contract!
Military was also using the m9, which was objective garbage. They don't know what they want much less what they need.
>>32714098
>Pity it's such a fuckugly gun, though.
I actually think the compact looks exceptionally well with the small grip module. Then again, looks really don't count at the end of the day.
>Exactly the barrel I need for my build
>Out of stock forever
Where the hell can I find a 20" ar barrel without m4 feedramps without spending a fortune? Is it even possible anymore?
>wanting non m4 feed ramp
>wanting 1-12
Please just explain. You can find a PSA 1-7 20" with m4 ramps for $150.00 plus upper kit for $30.00 and FSB for $20.00 at brownells

Lets have a thread on post-industrial fortifications.
I find the coastal forts and defensive lines built during the early 20th century really cool, but I don't really know much about them. Does anyone have any images or info they can dump on the subject?

got to love this. Everyfucking bridge, highway, channel or other shit was fitted with obstacles and some are until today
New to /k/ and gun ownership but now that it's the age of liberal cry babies I think it's time I learned.
What's a good beginners pistol? And where can I buy for a good price? I live in indiana.
Beginner? Probably a glock just because I hear they are pretty simple and reliable.
Ruger mk2 are pretty good they dont have the aesthetics of a "normal" pistol but they are great to learn on
Find a range with classes.
Take at least one beginners class to learn basic safety, firearms operation, and marksmanship principles. Preferably take some follow on classes as well, especially if you're planning on concealing.
Find a range that has rental firearms, or a friend with a lot of guns.
Try and shoot a variety. Different calibers. Different ergonomics. Different sizes.
Why are you going to be buying a gun? Is it for home defense? Concealed carry? A range toy? All of the above?
his name is GREG, I can't unlearn this fact
post some youtuber memes please

If you are in an un cucked state and want an ak47 rifle I would suggest the yugo m70 that they got. It's a very good, highly recommended, solid build ak and it's also /k/ approved. It's also pretty decently priced
