Hey /k/!
It's a wonderful time of day
To learn to laugh and play
And get along with eachother
So I built this AR and took it out to shoot today and it keeps jamming.
Here's the deal
>always fires first round, doesn't matter if I charge it or hit the bolt release
>the casing from this round always ejects
>the bolt gets far enough back to reset the hammer
Then either (always I haven't figured out what is causing either)
>second round feeds into chamber and chamber locks up requiring mortar
Or
>bolt doesn't catch the back of the second round, it catches somewhere in the middle, the round half feeds then the bolt stops jammed against the side of the casing
I am aware I need to wear everything in a little bit, rifle is brand new, mags brand new, and it's my first AR. But after mortaring it twice and the second round just refusing to feed I'm kinda wondering if it's something else.
Pic related, cuck country.
I was shooting .223 if anyone thinks it makes a difference. I noticed even on the cases that fed correctly (and definitely on the ones that jammed up or got stuck) a scratch running the length of the casing. I don't know whether is is being caused by something while the round is being fed, or if they are being scratched by the bolt as it travels over them in the magazine.
Also worth mentioning the mags are only 7 rounders (cuck country) and are cheapo polymers but I also have an ex JDF M4 mag which didn't fix the problem.
I suppose also ARG

And before I get grilled on the placement of the rear BUS, I have moved it back to where it should be.
>>32732121
Not sure what your issue might be but are you in Israel? What stock is that?
>>32732188
No I'm in New Zealand, it's made by a company called Spearmags.
The stock circumvents the NZ law which requires me to register a "military style" semi automatic. Free standing pistol grips and adjustable stocks are considered "military style".
Okay so my choices are-a P64 & a Glock 42. The G42 have gritty talon grips & pinky extensions, the P64 is stock.
Which should I use for pocket carry (sticky holster fits both) during the hot months?
>>32731872
>a shitty gun in a foreign caliber with a dogshit trigger
>or a shitty gun in a normal caliber with a dogshit trigger
I dunno
>>32731872
P64
>>32731896
Then buy me a new one, dic/k/head.
Are they are a laughing stock meme? Do they actually ever do recon and set up OPs or are they just glorified armored infantry?
We have them in Australia but only a reserve capacity. And they were set up as an interim capability when all the reserve cav regiments lost their APCs. They were given old land rovers and pretty much acted like quasi SASR vehicle mounted troops on weekends. However now days they are pretty much just truck rivers. The capability of motorized recon was never going to be a deplorable one.
So how the US Army manage it?
I mean they get more weapons quals and can do the Infantry recon course so why bother being a grunt?
>>32731433
Deployable*
Actual IRL recon is done by the SASR, and to a certain extent Commando/Infantry Recon.
ANSWER ME
>>32731433
Hello friend
19D here. Our main mission is recon for the unit we are assigned to and our job is to act as a constant force of recon depending on the element. Armored Brigades will have Bradley M3s assigned to them while Stryker Brigades will have (you guessed it) Strykers and the Infantry Brigade cav scouts do their recon Humvee.
Most of our ops do consist of setting up OPs. From here we simply observe and recommend to HQ. CFF, CAS and other such missions are a key part to Cav Scout life. But you will also engage enemy elements depending on force size and situation, and also conduct security operations and generally support the force through things like screen or recon in force.
If you engage the enemy or not depends entirely on situation. Job is not guaranteed combat 100% of the time but then neither are the Infantry.
Oh. You also get to use shit like the Javelin to hit HVTs.
Mateba for sale on gunbroker as of right now.
Seems to be mediocre condition, grips are broken and literally being held together with electrical tape.
I bid anyway. Feel free to outbid me, I'm probably not going to go over $2600 and I guarantee somebody wants it more than me, even with the broken grips, so I would rather an interested /k/ommando get it.
A link would help I suppose:

>>32731297
what fucking bastard put tape on it?
>>32731318
The grips are literally broken.
Onegai~ /k/, convince me into one of these and only one. Budget is $2000 including scope.
AR-10 - 308
Ruger Precision 20 inch in 308 or 6.5 CM
I own the rpr in 6.5 I love it. But it's stupidly heavy for what it is. Scoped, bipod and 20-30 round mags pushes it to the 16+ pound marker. Also it can take 2 different types of mags which is neato.
>>32731837
Thinking of running it with AICS mags, MI rail, Magpul stock and a Nikon 36x.
>>32731269
Bergara B14 HMR.
$590 new in the box for this fugly chubby italian heavy body
Worth the price?
>>32731205
>$590
No
>>32731239
The price hurts but these fucking things are unicorns. No one has them anywhere.
>>32731205
>Worth the price?
No. Get the Compact instead. The size difference is marginal and you'll be a lot happier if you didn't get the Sub Compact.
Whats the warrior culture like in the modern day US Army?
>>32730980
Kinda like the Spartans.
I let my superior rest his penis in my anus.
Nonexistent.
>>32731003
Would you say there's still a warrior culture in the Ranger battalion in this present day and age?
Hey /k/omrades, should I put a sharpie in my new SKS's pooper, y-you know, for tactical sharpie storage?
>>32730915
it should already have a cleaning kit in there, you fucking retarded memer
Should I?
How great would it be if you needed a sharpie in the field while plinking, and BAM, there's a sharpie in your SKS's butt?
>>32730915
Yes, write your comrades messages when inna woods.
Also inscribe "Deus [Cross symbol} Vult on the side.
Anyone know the site that will print any image onto 1911 grips? I would like to get the flying spaghetti monster on gun in pic I will be picking up shortly.
>>32730833
Just buy sweetheart grips and do it yourself
>>32730833
wat brand 1911?
>>32730833
just get someone to etch "i'm an atheist debate me" on the slide and be done with it
Im planning on taking a 2 month holiday in the states next year. My main aim is to shoot funs. Where can I go to fire all these awesome automatic weapons I see in all these youtube gun review videos? I'de also like to do some hunting if thats permissible, like a week long trip in Alaska or something to hunt bears and shit. I want to just unleash lead and take heaps of pics and videos, get it all out of my system. I have alot of money fyi.
>>32730649
If you go to free states (not CA, NY, etc.) a lot of ranges offer full auto rentals, but be careful of the more touristy ones, they're fucking expensive. One range here by my school in PA offers subgun rentals for about $40 plus ammo.
>>32730649
United States is big where are you going
Las Vegas, Nevada

Wat do /k/ompanions?
OP sucked about forty dicks today.
Rip and tear
>>32730463
Get fucked by prismatic spray and pray you make your saving throw
/k/, you are combat enthusiasts so I am sure you are familiar with the threats found in violent cities
How would you go about pacifying extremely violent cities like Washington DC and Baltimore, which are in the top 20 list of most dangerous cities on Earth?
Would you employ the police tactics that have been used for 50 years, that enabled these places to grow into the hellholes they are now?
Or would military strikes, kicking down doors and engaging targets, targeted car bombs against gang hovels, and griding off city blocks with checkpoints be more successful?
Video is relevant
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JjtR9oJlLQ
In all honesty you could fix Baltimore/DC (they are essentially one city) with about 40 dudes and a handful of A/MH-6M Little Birds
You don't need wide spread bombings, just precision strikes against gang leadership and missile strikes against specific breeding hovels.
>>32730426
hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Fallujah, Kobani, Aleppo, Damascus, Sirte, Rio, Medellin, Mosul, Baghdad, Bangkok, Manila, etc. don't make the list but DC does? stop reading /pol/
>>32730484
Aleppo has been properly pacified. Chlorine gas strikes and the current occupation presence worked, showing that military action can fix dangerous cities.
So, do you think we will still be using late 20th century firearms in the 2060s? Have we hit a wall like how we did with flintlocks?
>>32730253
We hit the wall, but we'll overcome it with caseless and direct energy weapons en-mass.
>>32730448
Makes me wonder; what about caseless with removable heat sinks in them. They don't have to be removed after a mag, but instead maybe a few mag. Since there's enough space saved for them, have a second in the stock. Would this work?
Conventional projectiles driven by explosions is at a wall, maybe mini railguns are the next thing
Measures 14.5 inches
Unknown looka like ww1.. I got these two bayonets today they look in decent shape. Was hoping you guys could help on a price?
Also should i wash/oil them with anything
More pics?
>>32729869
Markings beyond the serial number?
Herea
I'm legitimately curious to hear different opinions on the advantages/disadvantages of either rifle
(No bully pls)
>>32729733
Mauser is inherently better. Better safety, smoother action, ejects clips on close.
At the prices you can get each these days, there's no reason to go for the nugget except slightly cheaper ammo, and even that advantage is going fast.
Just find a mauser or mauser knockoff and reload ammo.
>>32729733
Mosin has better sights, is easier to clean and clear the magazine, disassembly can be done without tools (unless you count the bayonet as one) and isn't as prone to breaking firing pins as a Mauser.
Mauser is a stronger action, usually in a smaller/lighter rifle, has a better safety, better magazine and extractor, and better gas venting.
Overall the Mauser is the better of the two rifles, but not by much. Both are good, neither is shit.
>>32729796
Oh, and the one piece bolt head is another advantage for the Mauser. As is the rimless caliber.
