Could a wealthy American businessman hire enough mercenaries to take over an African country and declare himself king?
>>32706246
Give it a year or so and Mugabe will probably pay someone to take Zimbabwe off his hands.
>>32706246
You don't need mercenaries
Probably, but why waste money hiring expensive ass Western mercs when you could just pay an African warlord a million dollars a year for land
You can bet your ass he will make sure his people know not to fuck with you so that he can get his money, then just erect walls and plant minefields, hire a few guards around it so that even if they did turn on you, they can't get in.
And even if they DID get in, just build yourself an underground escape tunnel and get out via tactical assault tricycle
>tfw you finally pay off your credit card and the ones with the best barrel length are now sold out on Aimsurplus AND Atlantic.
You don't want a 20". The 16" barrel has identical performance. There's internet rumor that the 20" barrel is long enough to wobble before the bullet exits the muzzle, but I'm not 100% on this because they are thick fucking bull barrels to begin with.
I got a 16" vepr 54r. You don't want 54r unless you have cases and cases of surplus sitting around already. If you don't, go .308 or forget the idea completely. The ammo problem turned my rifle into a safe queen despite 1moa with surplus ammo at 100yd
>>32759850
tfw no 20 rd magazine for 54r vepr

Save up my man start your gun fund and put the interest you would have paid on the credit card towards whatever gun warms your heart

Killing Qaddafi was a mistake.
>>32705581
I hate strategic bomber, they are scary as fuck.
>>32708398
Does anybody even have strategic bombers, besides America?
what's your opinion on the EB-52?Would it be practical IRL?
>>32759815
I only know the basics for the B-52, but why not upgrade it? Or would it be cheaper to make a new bomber entirely?
>>32759831
EB-52 is the upgrade of the B-52.
>>32760012
EB-52 was a conceptual standoff jammer that got cancelled about 10 years ago.
I have the following guns: NPM M1 carbine, WASR10, M16A4 clone with Acog, Mossberg 500, WW1 colt 1911, Smith & Wesson Model 422, Winchester 1894, Remington 700 .30-06, and a Remington Model 1858 from 1864.
I will probably only keep 2 or 3 of them.
>>32759768
Story time nigger, why are you getting evicted.

China would eventually lose.
And we would shit post about it.
For the upcoming LCS OTH missile program.
Should they be quipped with Boeing's Harpoon ER, Kongsberg's NSM or Lockheed Martin's LRASM?

Tell me about the armies of Africa, /k/, what nations have the best militaries?
I only know about Rhodesian history.
>>32704516
>best
That's a pretty vague parameter. An african country could spend their shit on shiny flankers and Mig-29s and could still get btfo'd by poorer african country that spends their shit on things that counted the most; training, logistics and proper equipments on the ground
>>32704596
>post-Rhodesia Africans
>caring about training, logistics or equipment
Kek
African Militaries are effectively just big sticks being woven around just like in tribal days. Yes there are occasional competent contributors (typically foreign) but how do you expect countries that can't feed themselves, provide water or realize they have overpopulation issues and stop raping each other, to effectively run a modern military?
>>32704516
>among the best trained in Africa
Find it hard to believe they could even remotely stand a chance against countries like Egypt, Algeria, Chad, or even Somalia. I suppose the claim holds up when you figure all the shit holes, though.
Why does colt hate the civilian market?
They don't hate them, they're just coming off of a long government contract that made them (stupidly) think that they could cost off of M4geries forever with the lowly civvies and never bothered to keep up with trends and market developments at any point during that time. This is why we're only just now seeing their first mid-length. Ever. And why their answer to the retro AR fad are overpriced, limited-run examples made out of refurbished parts kits and built on outsourced lowers.
They don't hate the civilian market, they're just hilariously clueless and inept and have backed themselves into a corner with no idea how to proceed after FN made their fed buddies kick them to the curb.
>>32703733
Chris Bartocci put it in the best way.
Ever since the dropping their revolver line and the M4 contract debacle and nearly going into insolvency Colt has bled Brainpower and good employees. Then they started relying on their brand name to carry them instead of innovation.
>>32703733
In the late 90s or early 00s Colt hired some ex-Marine General to be their CEO. Naturally, being a Marine, he didn't give a shit about the commercial interests Colt has. The company got split into two companies, one for the military contracts and one for the commercial market. They literally painted a line down the middle of the factory separating the two halves.
How you holding up /k/ got a story I kinda wanna tell if you guys don't mind.
>M198 Howitzer
You have my attention anon.
Kinda digs into feels hope yall don't mind.
What's the chances of a modern diesel electric sub being able to successfully attack a US destroyer in the Persian gulf?
Is the destroyer looking for subs?
A diesel boat just sitting silent would get the drop on almost anything.
After that it's got to worry about helos dipping sonar and ships hunting it.
>>32757784
Just sitting silently in wait. Could it sneak attack and hit a carrier assuming the carriers and its task force where only at peacetime readiness?
>>32757817
Probably, but there's always something looking. It never turns off.
Whats the best literal pocket pistol? I'm looking for something that will actually fit in my coat pocket. Was thinking of a Bersa Thunder CC or PPK, but I think I need to go smaller, I dont want to use a holster
>>32757476
It's in your pic, OP
>>32757490
I'm just curious if there are any others. This is the only one I know of thats bigger than a 25 ACP. Also, does anyone own the Tomcat?
Seecamp LWS 380
Is this shit effective?
Also body armor bread
Not really, they just ran even slower through the mud and barbed wire before getting shot in the legs and head. Some of them had actual plate mail cuirasses. Fine for shrapnel but even musket balls went through those.
>>32757143
But that Lobster Shell shit was for machine gunners, and was for shrapnel and shit.
>>32756651
it did what it was supposed to do at the cost of slowing the user down a lot
