What makes you most upset about your art? What is the most upset you have ever been with your art?
Other than the minute technical errors like proportion and details etc. the fact that knowing that I have such a long way to go until I make it. When I think about it too long I start to have a feeling of helplessness but then I just start drawing then I fall back in love (kinda).
set it on fire
sign and date it
scrap it all try again
Anybody else just garbage at coloring? Prismacolor marker, colored pencil, watercolor?
I can draw okay, getting better at pen, but my coloring sucks shit. Always looks like a five year old did it.
Any tutorials on traditional coloring?

Well Op, I was wondering this too. I bought some Derwent pencils to start getting the way with coloring. But, anyway, some anon here sent this video to me. Check it too. I know it isn't enough, but keep searchin!

I draw maybe 30mins every few days but I want to start drawing 5-6hrs every single day. I just started working from home so I have the ability to do this.
But many people argue against it saying I'll "burn out". But is that real or is it just the art jew scaring me from hard work & practice?
>>2700253
just do it and knock down to 30 when you start to "burn out"
>>2700270
But is this real or wtf is it?
Burning out just sounds like pussing out. It sounds like drawing a lot for a few weeks then saying "boohoo this is too hard" so then newbies just kinda stop drawing as much.
Is this a real physical/psychological phenomenon or is it simply a matter of discipline?
>>2700253
best way to form a habit is to use about 2/3 of the will power you have for something at a time (this works with jogging at least). This means that you're unlikely to resent the act, which will allow it to become a habit. Once it does, the amount of time you spend on it will naturally rise
My self as a fallenangel. photoshop by me.
Any critique?
The thumbnail looks like someone eating lunch. The shoop looks like an ill concieved montage by an edgy neet tween.
The image and intention has promise but is poor in it's execution.
Go back to the drawing board and it could be something. Also add more contrast and move the bottle from the edge of the frame for a start.
I like your tshirt

This board will be deleted, wont it?
Where will you go once that happens?

Why do hipster artist wannabes work in cafes?
What have cafes got to do with art?
>>2696661
>What have cafes got to do with art?
Other hipsters go there. Birds of a feather flock together. I think it has to do with the beatniks ancestors before them but I'm not sure.
>>2696661
It's a place where you're socially allowed to sit and work for long periods of time, and you have access to snacks and coffee and free wifi. A lot of people need to work in a place other than their home to get in the right mindset to produce and not get distracted, and they can't afford a studio space. I'm sure some people want to do it as a way to get attention or validations from strangers too.
That said I'm a recluse who doesn't leave my room, but those reasons are what I would guess.
Cafes are like the best places to work for minimum wage. It's completely chill, you get to eat pastries, smell coffee beans, and be in a super comfy place with nice chairs and couches.
Coffee also is very important to an artist who works long hours, so they probably hit up cafes often. You can network with them.
=Drawing many hours a day means very little without a theoretical guide.
How you learn is more important than how long you spend doing shit that you actually have no!- b.a.s.i.c. t.h.e.o.r.y.- of how learning in your brain might work( for everyone) you too ... For example Vilppu's "no rules just tools" i think is a euphemism to mean I DONT KNOW WAT TO TELL YOU about rules BECAUSE I am not a neuroscientist, I JUST DO IT AS I GO with what comes easy to me .and doing it enough should become easy to you too... nothing against anyone who pro ports to teach you step by step in a book ho to go about learning to draw, or drawing i a way possible because they did it that way.
I have not read all the books out there on the subject but im sure they are scanty, since neuroscientists do not jump the gun easily on topics like the complex artistic skill of drawing, (the whole art world would lynch them or something ), im am worried about this...dont mean to be demeaning to anyone who tries to tackle this in traditional ways but without core principles of learning anything trying to write a "skill program" on your own by sheer force of persistence in hours of drawing includes the possibility of "figuring out How Y.o.u. learn". ....
SO some questions one may ask about it all and how to start thinking about
Here is some and id love to see your theories if any...
STARTING
-How many do try to draw in their lives ? everyone !!!
- What is the success rate according to self evaluation and motivation to persist drawing in spite of results? % ? no idea but very little considering other skills like how many learn how to write in very short time.
-What parts of the brain must be trained in consorted ways to achieve good hand eye coordination?
-How are the emotional parts of the brain involved and how to silence or increase their effect on the learning process_(assuming we have the optimal theory )
-Best contextual conditions to aide the process and how you might be unique:
cont..
>>2700147 continued
- Not implying that doing nothing is better than any halfway or anything for that matter.
- Alone or with others
- music| interference or aid or both and how to find out for you
- Best foods, best times of the day.. you get the point
The real reason behind it all and how serious you are about it all ^ how can you find out _obviously emotional_ but most of all
What do you KNOW ABOUT ALL THESE and what have you tested ?
Obviously we learn all of the time till we die arguably so what is the best way according to what we know to be fact about our brain and behavior ?
you're a complete mad man
what's the point of this word salad

Bring us your roughs, your storyboards, your pencil tests etc. Talk about industry, schools, the hopelessness of it all, how we all gonna make it etc.
If you're gonna post animation that isn't yours give source or state that it isn't yours.
Keep shitposting to a minimum. Don't feed the trolls.

I would really appreciate if someone could tell me really good examples of animations and shows/anime that actually have really good animation
>>2689985
Metal slug 1 through 3 and known for their beautiful animations
The fight scenes for Ashita no joe and Ashita no Joe 2 have all of the budget spent on them. It's an anime with stretch and squash incorporated, by god!
A few episodes of Batman: The animated series are very very well animated. The whole show looks wonderful thanks to Bruce Timm's art direction but some episodes just have amazing moments. Like the Clayface debut episodes with him shape-shifting at the end. Or the Robin origin story.
I would recommend checking out sakugabooru for a collection of animations.
We Hate You We Hate You We Hate You We Hate You yeah I know
you'll find it
Is this composition simple? I'm discussing it with a friend, I think it is. Thoughts?
Simple? Kinda, it's a relative term. I don't think it's very good though, there isn't a clear point of focus, the lighting is confusing and my eye keeps getting lost across the layers. It would be a good composition for a surreal piece, perhaps.
Yeah
I CAN'T DRAW EYES
LOOK AT IT
THAT'S MY BEST EFFORT
You might groan at this but I'm aiming for a sort of anime style. (I hated that style at first but I just felt drawing in a realistic style felt awkward for me and I just started liking it for some reason)
So yea can someone help sorry for the shitpost just help me draw eyes or anything you find wrong with that trainwreck
also anyone know a good free art program firealpaca and medibang is pissing me off
