I want to make the character draw the sword from it's back but I just don't know how to do it in perspective.
Any guides or tips for drawing them?
>>2702553
I'd recommend learning perspective first.
>>2702553
if you know how to draw cubes and boxes in perspective, you can draw anything in perspective so long as you understand the form of what you're drawing and you use guidelines
that being said, hit up the sticky and beg thread my man
Because we should not have to make new threads or post in draw threads with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make your mom proud.
AVOID asking unrelated questions, there is a question thread for that.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead (also images shouldn't come out accidentally sideways with this method)
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

There's a new sticky in town! You can see it at:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VfDTpLLVl5bWUGWguswKpPFml533luI8-NBd1EGYHnA/edit
>Thread study: Try to draw/paint the opening or any other following images.
Feel free to post your original works as well if you're trash.
TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

At what point does art become... "Not safe for work."?
Something you wouldn't want open on the computer screen when your (normie) boss comes by
>>2702955
But ain't SFW/NSFW labels retarded?
Why would you be browsing images at fucking work? Do you want to get promoted?
When you wouldn't open it in an average work environment.
As far as I'm concerned that includes artistic nudity, even if I don't think that qualifies as "pornographic" or even necessarily sexual material.
Rate this spooky image I drew in about 40 minutes.
(If I were to rate it myself, I'd give it a 2.5/10)
(To the first reply) Woah. That one actually looks real on some parts.
>>2697834
>2.5/10
you are being very generous. If 10 is masterful you are maybe at 0.5
Past couple of months have been a mess for me.
I was waking up consistently 6 am and studying until 6 pm but nowadays I barely sketch on the bus. Just got out of a painful relationship and I find myself in another one because being alone and drawing is just too painful for now.
How did you guys deal with this? I want to make something of my self!
Avoid relationships like everyone else. What, you aren't serious about your art?
>>2702559
lol fucking /r9k/
>>2702559
If you unironically "study" for 12 hours and this isn't your job or anything, you are doing things very, very wrong. All professional artists have families, interests, they travel, have time for leisure etc.
They aren't shut-ins that emerge from their cave just to show the world new painting.
What do you think? Is this really the ultimate training for artists?
What would you remove/add?
>>2696842
not all artist have the same goals, therefore they might need different fundamentals levels and in different order with focus on one or the other
>>2696842
add how to draw manga
>>2696842
You should learn perspective early on, but the first book? I wouldn't recommend that.
The rules :
> Draw image related;
> Add your own little "touch".
The goals :
> Draw and have fun;
> Get inspired and learn from eachothers.

sounds fun. I'll give it a try later today.
Is there any justification for paying $300 for a Giclee print of pic related, is it that different from a large format printer I could use at my University for $18?
It's a good thing I can read minds, so I know what format you want, what source you have, and what either of the printers used are, you fucking moron.
>>2700879
You can get pretty big prints for relatively cheap by making your own on Snapfish.
It's what /a/ recommends for prints, anyway. You can find higher res images online, and print em out for way less than official art.

Stern - stern but fair.
Howdy, this is the first time I've been to this board.
What do people tend to use to draw that's free? I've been using FireAlpaca (which I used to make this drawing), but would appreciate any advice on other programs. I know this should probably go on /adv/ but I want to ask other artists.
TLDR; whats good programs to use for drawing.
Also, any good substitutes for Flash Professional? I havent used it since middle school where it was a one time buy.
Another one I made.
Krita, SAI, Photoshop
>>2702443
krita is published for free download by the makers or if youre even half ok you can use mspaint
I'm taking a gap year next year to try and get a tattoo artistry apprenticeships and need to start working on a folio to show potential studios.
>does anyone have any examples of good tattoo folios
>general does and don't for folio/interview
>advice for picking a studio
Pic related but not mine.
>>2702293
bump with additional questions, even though it's a slow board I just thought of these
>is it better to go to your 1# choice first and then subsequently down in preference
>if they do say yes is it an immediate sort of thing or can you subtly infer you're still looking around at studios?
How can i draw like this man ?
>>2702082

Nofap for 2 years

3/10. you cropped out the sword. that's a big no no op.
>>2701509
You could have done a much, MUCH more dramatic and dynamic angle with this scene! Sorry, but composition-wise, you really missed the mark here, 2/10.
>>2701509
stop painting form your head. you're better off studying realism and painting form life until you've mastered it. other wise you're stunting your growth as an artist.
you're not ready to be drawing from your head.4/10 dat blur though
I have a fear that even if I keep grinding and do get better, I'll experience those days of not being able to draw from my imagination because I can't think of anything that day. Not to mention what if I end up with a shitty style after learning the fundamentals. I know I'm retarded but these things can be solved as you get better right?
>>2700013
You're making up retarded shit to be worried about, keep grinding and git gud and you'll deal with what comes when you get there.
>>2700013
How can you end up with a shitty style? Do you know what style is? It's literally your personal aesthetic taste. So if you're calling your own style shit, its just because you know you suck. In which case you need to keep practicing.
>>2700013
Feels bad man.
How do you keep yourself focused, /ic/? I found exercising and going for bike rides activates my autism briefly.
>>2702317
Working out is good for avoiding the lethargy of the depression that borders the life of most artists.
Focus/motivation though is just habit-building. About two weeks of pain and suffering by forcing yourself to do it every day, at the same time, in the same conditions, with some sort of trigger, and after that it's really a fucking breeze, man.
Train yourself like a dog. Except you hold the leash.
>>2702327
thanks, senpai. I hope I make it.
Any good advice on drawing heads better?
>>2702166
draw skulls
add value so it doesn't look weird
>>2702166
Stop drawing from imagination.
