I'm working on a game and I'm looking for an artist/concept artist/character artist.
At the moment all I need is some portraits and full body images of humans and some alien races in various uniforms. This is mostly for advertising and in-game placeholders.
Willing to pay dependent on the quality of work. Part-time paid position is also available for the right person.
Anyone interested?
Attached are some ideas I came up with.
>>2703933
Put an email down so people can contact you, and let us know your budget and any deadlines. If you set that up ahead of time you will avoid wasting both your own time and the time of artists here.
>tfw interested but too shit to get the job
Fuck. I hate all of you guys. Some faggot on /ic/ is going to get to be a concept artist now.

I've got about $300 to spend on art assets.
The position is worth about 25k per year USD, including a percentage of sales.
I haven't been able to find any ways of doing this online, so I'll ask here. Let's say you wanted to draw an accurate model of a tank. You collect some photos online, but you cannot find accurate blueprints of the tank, so, using your art and perspective skills, you have to draw your own. Is there any way of doing this with 100% accuracy? Pic related - not the object I want to draw, but a good example.
Nope. It doesn't need to anyways. As long as it looks right then that's all that matters.
>>2702272
If you have a front and side view (and maybe top view too) then you can do it with a fairly high degree of accuracy, yes. You just need to fit those views into a rectangle with a grid, then put that grid into perspective and redraw the object in perspective. Any thorough perspective book should cover how to do this.
This could be misconstrued as a general whine/advice thread, but I feel like this has enough art topic in it to justify being put here, and I don't think /adv/ would give a single shit.
I'm 25, have only a high school diploma, and the clock is ticking on me needing to get a job/career going. I can't afford to go to college/university anymore because I'd be out at 31 or something, fuck that.
I've always liked art. I've liked drawing, painting, and almost anything to do with it outside of mainstream nonsense. I wanted to draw cool shit, get better, and get paid for it. It felt like the ultimate lifestyle. But reality hits hard. No matter if I go freelance or studio, living in Canada, the pay will be dogshit and the studios/employers will be sparse unless you're a God. And I'm realistic, I won't be. Most working artists are lucky to earn 40,000 yearly.
My question to you guys is, if you're being driven to be a professional in art, what actually drives you forward? Why not go into something like CS/IT that has an exploding industry and take advantage of that? I know people who are earning six figure salaries with no college degrees, just solid portfolios and resumes.
What is it about us guys that we need to do art professionally? I'm just more motivated in general to improve myself when the goal is a career, instead of looking at it as a simple hobby.
>>2703491
I'm a working artist that makes dogshit money, to quote you. I do it because it's still better than working some other job. I can at least work from home and do art this way, and even if the pay is bad I would make just as little doing any other job since I don't have an education or other skills.
>>2703491
I enjoy drawing and understand art better than other things like STEM and need to get a job or else I'll be kicked out of the house. Therefore I want to get paid to draw as well.
>>2703491
It's like trying to make a living in bodybuilding. Unless you're one of the best or willing to live on next to nothing, you're going to need a side job.
The starving artist has always been a thing.
art feels thread
post a feel, draw corresponding face
>mandatory windows 10 update yesterday

Give it back ! They were just sketches but I liked them DAMMIT
>Decide that today is the day I'm going to draw and keep drawing

It's been like this for years.

Poorfag here. Can I make superb drawings with mere pens and pencils?
Riven Phoenix, you can thank me later
Technically, yes. But it's preferable that you use paper too.
>>2703764
You can make superb drawings even with Snickers.
Does this get easier if you get better at form?
I wasn't expecting it to be such a bitch. I tried it, and I wound up creating garbage.
It gets easier the more you do it, yes.

Am I over thinking it?
The bottom one is ok in comparison to the top one, and I didn't plan it out as much as the one above it.
>>2703735
No, keep at it.
What happened to the porn threads? I haven't seen one in a while. Dont get me wrong, I don't miss them and thought they were ruining the board but curious about what happened to them
Dunno, but I feel the board slowed down in general
>>2701561
the speed of the board hasn't significantly changed.

what do i have to do to draw like sargent? was he so good he didn't even need construction?
>>2700973
When you're drawing from life you don't need construction.
>>2700973
As the first anon said, you don't need to use constructive for observational drawing. You just need to master contour drawing, seeing shapes and values. Basically everything covered in Keys to Drawing.
>>2700990
And adding to this, some artists don't use auxiliary lines or start with construction when doing imaginative work but usually this skill is the result of thousand of hours spent drawing and being able to make sense of the form and perspective in your head while you draw with direct contour.
Hi /ic/! Let's have a bit of fun.
Take a favorite episode and pause it. If it's a cartoon then make it realistic and render the shit out of it.
If it's a traditional show make one of the characters in a cartoon style that you like. Try to keep the design on point.
and remember to keep it silly you guise
