I see practicing art on the same light as working out. It's when you are resting that you actually build your muscles after a good workout. After I draw, I take a break, and then go back and see all the mistakes I made. Even when I am not pulling a feng zhu 16 hr/day I still draw better than before.
Do you take rest days?
More like rest months lmao
>>2773538
did you get better when you returned or did you get worse
>>2773540

Post your current drawing here and be an asshole to others!
Please make sure your posted image is clear, DOWNSIZED TO AROUND 1000 PIXELS WIDE, ROTATED TO THE CORRECT ORIENTATION, and that any unused space is cropped.
If you want critique on a drawing from the previous thread, you can delete it there and repost in this one and then kill yourself.

Hi everybody.
Isn't the first time that I post in this chan but this time I want introduce myself; My name is ex-sodom and I'm a NSFW amateur artist.
I saw the "argentine-fag" in the other thread and I thought - Why Not; I mean open my own thread and talk about me.
First then first.
My intentions are be like norasuko or doxyDoo. Both are amazaing artist and I want to be like them.
I know perfectly that the road will be long but I think that I could get it with a lot of efford and discipline.
Currently I post in Twitter, DA, Pixiv and Tumblr. I did open a patreon account but later I discover that the
patreon only works if you have a solid base of fans.
For the moment, I leave some of my works. I know that it have anatomy mistakes but I working in improve myself.

Uh, okay.
Here's Blademaster Lenny, sworn sword to the homosexual legion of the Hommarr Co. Level 998, him and his squire Carl travel the land in search of slippery deeds.
He also beat Sans on his first try so, you know, don't fuck with him. He'll beat you up IRL and get you doxxed no problem, brah.
>>2760278
This is how I see it, my homeboy Lenny just got some dank kush and is about to get some dank horsepussy.
I wanna start doing a web comic but i dont have that much time to shit out a whole chapter every week. Do i have to make that up with good art if i only update once a month with 10 or so pictures?
>kinda pic related i guess
>>2778550

>>2778559

Does anyone have any books, or anything of the sort that has reference photos of backgrounds, especially in Japan?
I second this request.

Try flickr, that's where I used to go for japanese scenery porn. Speaking of scenery porn, this may be one of the few times r*ddit is actually useful.
ok i never got mondrian
even my hardest most prententious art history boner could not sustain a love for mondrian
but holy shit i finally get it
ladies and gentleman ; the precursor to pixel art
the one and only 1920's pixel artist
>>2778698
Have you ever studies the rietveld schroederhuis? I don't think I 'got' de stijl before that.
>>2778698
it's really not the precursor to pixel art, he doesn't even use a regular grid most of the time. it's just geometric. and pixel art has nothing to do with "getting" mondrian
pic related is a direct analog to pixel art that predates both the computer and mondrian (c.1785)

died wood inlays on a music cabinet
and apparently I got the date wrong, it's 1875.
I've been drawing on and off for a while, but never move past the doodle/sketch stage. I've tried a few times to move to the next step, do lines and color, but the passion is completely lost and I quickly get bored and go back to doodling.
cool
same as you OP, i dont give a fuck about making it look pretty. whenever i try to line art or color i get bored and rather just work on my fundies and draftsman ship. dont sweat it work at your own pace and have fun

go ahead boi
we are waiting
So, there is a guy who wants to commission me two figure picture and he wants specific actresses' appearance, close as possible faces etc. Are there any rules about drawing real (famous) people for a payment?
>>2778312
Not that I know of.
I think there is something about drawing porn of them can get you in trouble though.
Not like anyones ever going to find out.
>>2778312
Yes. You can be sued for using someone else's likeness. I remember that lesbian x-men girl said that naughty dog was ripping off her likeness in the last of us and they remodeled their girl because of that.
>>2778333
That's a large scale production though. A couple of pictures commissioned for personal use isn't the same as making a product to be packaged and resold over and over. Technically they could sue if they saw the image and found out it was paid for, but I really doubt most recognizeable celebrities would care enough to file suit for the price of a single commission even if it was a couple thousand dollars. And with it being a single commission most likely it'll never hit their radar anyway. The type of celeb based "art" that's more likely to catch a law suit are those photoshop jobs that porn sites make and sell because 1 using an actual photo is tangible evidence of stealing their likeness while art can fall under parody/derivative work and get an exemption, 2 they sell it to multiple buyers and make enough money off of it to be worth suing over, and 3 using a celeb's real but doctored photo can actually damage their "brand" giving them legal standing to claim damages.
our bodies depend on light and dark for optimal sleep patterns. staying up late is only hindering your creative ability. if you think staying up past 12am makes you a genius or more creative you're probably not gonna make.
good.

Should you put signatures on your work no matter how shitty it is?
I always felt it was kind of pretentious
>>2774716
As long as it isn't physical and you're not gonna sell your work of art, signatures are pretty pretentious.
>does it hinder the aesthetic of your art?
>do you have to protect your art of copy?
>do you sell them?
>>2774716
nowadays most artists put their name on the plaque anyways.
Why do we neglect our board-tan so much?
I mean, for a board about artists, we sure don't draw fun things much.
i dont even know who ic's board-tan is
