I see practicing art on the same light as working out. It's when you are resting that you actually build your muscles after a good workout. After I draw, I take a break, and then go back and see all the mistakes I made. Even when I am not pulling a feng zhu 16 hr/day I still draw better than before.
Do you take rest days?

Hi everybody.
Isn't the first time that I post in this chan but this time I want introduce myself; My name is ex-sodom and I'm a NSFW amateur artist.
I saw the "argentine-fag" in the other thread and I thought - Why Not; I mean open my own thread and talk about me.
First then first.
My intentions are be like norasuko or doxyDoo. Both are amazaing artist and I want to be like them.
I know perfectly that the road will be long but I think that I could get it with a lot of efford and discipline.
Currently I post in Twitter, DA, Pixiv and Tumblr. I did open a patreon account but later I discover that the
patreon only works if you have a solid base of fans.
For the moment, I leave some of my works. I know that it have anatomy mistakes but I working in improve myself.

it's really not the precursor to pixel art, he doesn't even use a regular grid most of the time. it's just geometric. and pixel art has nothing to do with "getting" mondrian
pic related is a direct analog to pixel art that predates both the computer and mondrian (c.1785)

I've been drawing on and off for a while, but never move past the doodle/sketch stage. I've tried a few times to move to the next step, do lines and color, but the passion is completely lost and I quickly get bored and go back to doodling.

That's a large scale production though. A couple of pictures commissioned for personal use isn't the same as making a product to be packaged and resold over and over. Technically they could sue if they saw the image and found out it was paid for, but I really doubt most recognizeable celebrities would care enough to file suit for the price of a single commission even if it was a couple thousand dollars. And with it being a single commission most likely it'll never hit their radar anyway. The type of celeb based "art" that's more likely to catch a law suit are those photoshop jobs that porn sites make and sell because 1 using an actual photo is tangible evidence of stealing their likeness while art can fall under parody/derivative work and get an exemption, 2 they sell it to multiple buyers and make enough money off of it to be worth suing over, and 3 using a celeb's real but doctored photo can actually damage their "brand" giving them legal standing to claim damages.
our bodies depend on light and dark for optimal sleep patterns. staying up late is only hindering your creative ability. if you think staying up past 12am makes you a genius or more creative you're probably not gonna make.
