What does /ic/ think of this painting I bought in Melbourne in 2001?
Peculiar. Are you going to finish it off?
>>2904684
Not really. I haven't touched it since I bought it. I've always been curious about the artist. I wonder if there's any way to track him down.
>>2904744
I'd best leave them be if I was you
Seriously /ic/, do I actually need to know how to draw this sort of stuff if my end goal is drawing human beings, environments, and creative, stylised stuff? Can I skip the cars and aircraft part of Robertson's book? Also, did the masters draw from imagination the way Robertson etc teach it? Or did they just copy shit from life (i.e: what I've been doing for the past 6 months)?
>>2902670
That really is not as complicated as it looks
>>2902670
Yes, you need to. This is the CORE skill. It's like asking if I need to learn the alphabet to learn how to write.
What are the fastest ways to get 1k tumblr followers?
draw fanart and funny and sjw (memegai representation, "u r valid", selfcafe uwu) shit
>>2901465
what kind of fanart?
Don't be white or male
>when old people like your work on tumblr
>people in their late 30s and 40s are actually enjoying your poorly drawn anime art of girls raping each other
>>2905549
Well, why wouldn't they? Anime has been around since forever. Of course there's going to be old otaku that still want to fuck anime bitches.
i suck at art and i want pointers. i usually just draw my 4 ocs. send art and/or critique mine.
Read the sticky and post in the beginner or alternative art/stylization thread
>>2905361
Pretty good. Force yourself to draw a whole body in action, every time. Consider arrangement; cram two or three active characters in a shared space.
>>2905361
>4 oc's
Those are simple faces, and even though you draw them, i wouldn't go around telling people these were original content. Its very generic and frankly its been done a million times.
Alot of artists do it, but its mostly fantasy stuff. I feel like you are a teenager or younger, if you are than its pretty good. keep on drawing and please read the sticky! If youre an adult, you suck and should go read the sticky or get a job, get better at art and stop posting bullshit on this forum!
Looking for who this artist is. Hope /ic/ can help

Bride of the Wind by Oskar Kokoschka
So this is good or should I die
read sticky
post in begginer thread
cya
>>2902236
You shouldn't die, it looks good, but it looks kind of like every other Tumblr character artist.
>>2902236
It's not good, but you don't need to die per se either. There's nothing particularly appealing or eye-catching about your work, so I'd say look into the styles you like and try reproducing what makes them pop out for you. Keep drawing, and maybe stick to the stylization thread if you're going to post work of this nature. Doesn't really need its own thread.
Is the Huion H610 Pro worth getting?
I heard great things about it but I'm not too happy with getting chinese sutff and heard the drivers were complete ASS
What does /ic/ think?
>>2900834
the size is good, drivers are ass yea
had problems with windows 10 when i upgraded, it started giving me really jagged lines
also the pen is really fragile, much more than a wacoms
so if you´re a clumsy fuck like me and you drop it once it just fucking dies
>>2900854
>when i upgraded, it started giving me really jagged lines
this and lage in general (straight lines instead of curves). have a huion, bought a medium sized wacom to use in place of it. slightly smaller but worth
>>2900834
great, but the driver fucks up way too often. sometimes you'd be working and something will feel off. your stuff will start looking shittier and you'll be wondering what's going on. and it turns out that your driver fucked up and you're getting this mish mash of 50% opacity pressure for no reason. fuck, I should've bought a wacom
Tell me /ic/, why do you draw?
Art causes nothing but pain and suffering
It's fun.
>>2898932
there are many reasons, art is one the most human things you can do, if you think about it technology is a tool, animals also use tools, tools are a medium. However art is an end on itself
>>2898935
This. It's fun to draw.
R.I.P Bernie
>>2905480
there is a thread already with that same pic as OP you faggoli
My friend made a sketch of me when we both had some down time together.
Being honest here, not going to take credit where it isn't due.
What do you d/ic/ks think about it?
Shit drawing?
Shit face?
>>2905205
He should have done it on paper that wasn't lined and either done it further down the page or smaller so your head isn't cropped off.
Otherwise, what do you want us to say? It's an amateur drawing. Could be a lot worse, but it's not like a professional portrait or anything. Rather than try to find if it has "value" or "worth" or whatever by asking us, just be happy that you spent time with your friend and he did a drawing of you and then gave it to you.
>uh hey Gordon Ramsay? My friend baked me this cake. Tell me if you think it's shit. I need to know your opinion on it in order to form my own opinion. If it's shit tell me so I'll know that my friend is a shit baker and that I shouldn't appreciate the cakes he bakes for me.
>>2905205
it's shit
first time i've been to /ic/, lots of really nice work
i'm an aspiring digital artist looking to work in the entertainment industry asap, any legit tips you can give me about the business/critique on my work? i post all of it here: http://hujunisei.co.vu
most of them are photo studies with a bit of color correction
pic is my last painting, 48min34sec
bless
>>2902067
How do I get as good as you?
>>2902067
You need to start actively searching for customers, there are a lot of people trying to do the exact same thing as you, and they are probably far more confident and charismatic, so you have to show that you can deliver on time etc
>>2902067
Sell yourself more
Create a youtube/twitter/fb/pixix fuck it, create even a fucking steam so nerds can donate you games or pay you to make a artwork for their profile
Be charismatic, you can read books about this but basically be confident and nice to people, show them you care about them, even if you deep down don't, people like to feel important
Shit out content, not every post needs to be a masterpiece, especially because art is more about emotions, even a piece you consider bad a lot of people out there will think its pretty good so don't be afraid of dumping shit for the sake of it
Befriend smart people
Best of luck
Should I just start drawing perspective lines whenever I draw?
My work is always very poorly proportioned and oddly placed in space. I don't play with perspective very often, but I know I need to get a good understanding of it.
Should I just always draw perspective lines during the sketch? I don't see any reason not to.
do it
>>2901345
do it.
perspective is what separates pros from amateurs.
also, very usefull tool for getting that 3D look and also correct placing of shadows.
>>2901345
Do you mean with objects and environments or with people/animals/whatever?
If you're fucking up people proportions, you need to draw people, and draw them from life, not fucking comic books. Tracing is a great tool to use here, but listen-you never trace something from the get go. Try to draw it from life or your reference photo, then once you're done and you start correcting things, it can really help to simply lay it over your ref picture and see what you really fucked up. It saves a lot of time, but don't trace from the get go or Satan will rot your benis off and the entire world will scorn and shun you.
But you can also draw perspective from life, and it's nice to get out of the basement once in awhile. Just go sit in a shop or on a bench and sketch out the basic perspective of the room or street you're looking at.
Of course you can look at pictures and do the same thing.
What's the best animation tool I could use? I want to try making cartoons of my own and everything is overpriced as fuck.
Link to a good torrent or whatever would also be appreciated.
>>2903889
Try opentoonz
Anything else?
tv paint, clip studio paint ex, toonboom, probably more. check the animation general, which may or may not be archived
I purchased this painting in Providence RI over a decade ago. I cannot make out the signature. Does anyone recognize this piece or the artist/signature?
This is the whole piece
>>2905213
Who was next to you when you took that picture?
