Secondly, now I'm even more motivated. I learned so many artists don't make money due to being shit as business, promotion, sales and making money in general, here I am thinking artists don't make money for one reason or another, only to learn their poverty is mostly self-sabotage.

the periods where I actually feel confident and enjoy myself compensate for the periods where I feel like I'm garbage.

I can see how it'd be constantly awful for people with depression, though, I don't know why it seems to be such a draw for depressed people when it's a hobby that requires so much motivation and at least a little self confidence.

It was an escape for me growing up, didn't realize back then "depression" was an actual thing so I would try to draw stuff like gay little comics/anime for fun cause it did make time go by like nothing- as a kid it's great because you do usually feel sunny even if sometimes life isn't perfect, you're a kid and just wanna have fun.

Now I just try to actually sit my ass down and draw anything. I'm gonna see a doctor when I have enough money, want this shit to go away if only for like 3 hours everyday so I can actually finish something. And like go to school/get a job and be an adult.

I create stuff for that reason still. It's just harder for me to do it now.

If I wanted life to be anything else I would have never left my mom's bosom.

As a kid I never was into books much, but I absolutely loved movies. Some favorites were old boy, paprika, the raid, the departed, kung fu hustle, howls moving castle, nausica, Sinbad, LotR, and probably a bunch others I'm forgetting. I love good stories and characters and have always wanted to create my own. I want to start making short welcoming about stories that happen in the same universe. Until eventually I get good enough that I can start up a comic about the characters I've had in my head since I was a kid without too much limitation skill wise.

Then you should quit. You're wasting your time. I suggest you do another course course and do art only for yourself for the time being until you get comfortable with it enough to go full pro

Remember, there's a market for a lot of types of work. It might be smaller than say, fan-art, but it's still a market

That's exactly why I draw and paint. I usually hide in some bushes near school and when I see some happy kid I say "Psss, kid! Wanna see something fun?" And then I show them awful manga art and give them first "free" brushpen.

Then I watch them being made fun of and becoming school outcasts. Also I tell them that their art will be better if they get better tools and sell them shitty small wacom in the price of cintiq.
