Is it even worth trying to force myself to draw if i have talent and quite some practice but almost always feel like doing something else in my free time? I don't plan on being a professional artist though.
>I have talent
Yeah, sure. Anyways, if you're not serious about art don't force yourself to draw if you don't even enjoy it.
>>3117268
>that's the drawing of someone with 'talent'
Lmao who knew it would be this easy to outdraw a 'prodigy'.
>>3117268
Is that you Alex?
Did any of you get gud with a late start? 25 here. Is it already over before it even started?
>>3110824
I'm afraid 25 is the breaking point. At this time, your neuroplasticity has stiffen to the point where you can only make little to no progress. Moreover, you are unable to put in sufficient job because unlike the rest of us, you have a life. Don't waste your time with art, go back to your normie life, art is for depressed fucks who are borderline suicide.
25 is too old, try a different hobby, maybe programming or writing.
>>3110836
pfft I don't have a life. I am the superfluous man. I even identified with The Underground Man even though I was and am fully aware he's a satirical figure.
Hey Anons this is an OC I made let me know if you like or what you think I should change. Drawing is made with adobe draw

Go to /beg/ or stylization and I'll give you my two cents.
Hi guys! I hope you all are doing well, I like drawing things from life, especially people.
Sometimes they don't have much time, when that happens I ask them for a photo, do you think it's a good idea to buy one of these if I want to improve my proportions? I don't have a printer and I was wondering if I would be able to measure a photo well on my laptop screen?
>>3119127
You can make one yourself. I followed this tutorial
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ts6bRWeyHOQ
But since my strips of wood were thin I used the kind of hole punch you use for leather belts (the one with that sort of wheel on it).
Cool :3 thanks man, I appreciate your help, I just hope I can make a good one >_<
I want these but I want to keep my place lead free.
has anyone actually improved from studying loomis/richer/hogarth/proko/any fucking art information at all?
ive like consumed all these art books and online videos/tutorials etc but i still feel like my art is the same shit level as when i started practicing for real. been at it for around 2 years. 2 years aint a lot but i should be seeing improvement by now.
maybe you aren't effectively learning and practicing.
>>3118218
post "then/now" artwork
>>3118218
Post work and we can help you improve.
OK, I don't get this one, how do you add that ear line?
The books tells me that both middle and eye lines can be put on the ball by drawing two lines across it (forming a cross) and then drawing an oval in each line.
But I can't find a solid method to draw the ear line.
Just look at it. In real proportions our ear extends up to about the brow line. The horizontal line on these cartoon heads however represents the "eye line" which is just below the brow line. What does that tell you? That you should make the ears peak out just above the eye line like they're pictured for Christ's sake.
>>3117959
it's a meme
>>3117991
I'm not talking about cartoony or realistic head proportions.
I'm talking about solidly dividing the ball using 3 ellipses to indicate the height, width and volume (or the X, Y, & Z axis) of the ball.
Who's got video art?

that picture is cool. the videos less so
I have a greyscale painting that I want to add colour to. I could try using multiply layers by trial and error, but is there a more methodical way to get the colour I want with this method?
>>3115766
bump
>>3116769
Try gradient maps
>>3115766
Theres plenty of ways of colorizing grayscale in PS
>color layer mode
>soft light
>overlay
>hard light
All have different uses and effects, ie. overlay pushes contrast by a lot and doesnt colorize light values etc., so you want to experiment and understand how these work. Gradient maps are also a pretty good starting point to work from, just remember to set the gradient map layer to color, otherwise its gonna mess up your values.
post any short film you like! I don't care if its creep or weird

I was thinking of purchasing the Huion new 1060 Plus (8192) (pic related). But I have a few questions before I make the decision.
1) What are things that are different from a Wacom? (I'm aware of no tilt detection)
2) Is it possible to get this tablet on amazon? I've seen one that's almost there but doesn't have the same levels of pressure sensitivity.
3) If I have to get it on the Huion website, Is it recommended to get the tax pre-pay thing?
Also general tablet thread.

Google it

I was going to get that one too
I'm looking at a Huion GT-191 as soon as I have the money. I was never much good at using traditional pen tablets due to the hand-eye detachment fuckery they cause, and as a result didn't end up doing as much digital art as I thought I would because it just added SO much effort and and so many steps to the process that I just didn't feel like it was worth it for what I viewed to be subpar results.
If this thing was an option back in 2005 I would have gotten it instead of my Intuos 3.

1.
>>Every drawing has to have a piece of your work attached
>drawing
you must have meant post
2.
>You can't reply to anyone without uploading another piece of your work
How would you go about enforcing this?
3. Why?
I'll humor you for now.
>>3098505
He can't really enforce it but it's like threadly etiquette. Obviously you'll have people breaking the rules but you'll also have people who follow them.
Alright, so I've been using this art program on my phone called ibisPaint X, and it's great. I'm trying out a new style, what did I do wrong
> what did I do wrong
you posted your own thread.
Anyone willing to help a complete beginner out? Here's one of my cleaned-up sketches
>>3118879
...and here's the colored result!
I'm still awful at shading though

Comeback after you have finished at least 1,000 gesture drawings.
Use these resources as tools to help you with gesture drawing.

>>3118879
You are very close to Nosebro, heh.
Derpibooru had a stream shilling section if I remember well.
Is there any other page that lets you publish your drawing stream?
I'm already streaming in a social media platform with some followers and that but I'm greedy and want more ppl to watch me.
Post work first and I might follow you
Some 30 second gestures. messy, i know. need to work on limiting my lines. anything else i could improve on though?
messy but with a flow. keep going anon.
>>3118809
you're doing anon, and since you already know to limit your lines then your self-critique is enough. just keep drawing
>>3118809
Start by not making your own thread. Post in the beginner thread like everyone else. Have some decency.
