This is a creative/inspirational general, come here to draw stylized works in your own style, you can also post yours too
Please keep in mind this is not a critic-free general, so give and receive feedback from others
We have a sole rule
>Before submitting an artwork, you must draw something from someone else first
This is to avoid a excessive numbers of OCs and keep people drawing in general, if you want to post your artwork please contribute as much as possible so we can have a productive thread
Here's the archive of previous drawings and threads, so you can do your own version or just contemplate them

Wrong board.
What actual media was used to create illustrations that look like these?

On what media and with what tools?
guidance from the Lord
What does this board think of art theft in the context of reposting or non-commercial use? It's a big topic I see thrown around on twitter without much nuance, imo. Art is a product of skilled labor, and should be valued the same as other media. But I suppose the argument to be made is the distribution.
The internet doesn't exactly have art galleries. da and such is mainly for hobbyists to publically display their work on their own accounts. It is also the nature of the internet for people to easily download images to share with others(and rampant piracy).
Many sites such as this one rely heavily on sharing these images. There are game, comic, and cartoon avatars everywhere. I've always seen booru sites as more like a resource than theft. I'm in favor of all this as long as the artist is fully credited
>>3115432
the internet does have art galleries, like the art galleries have websites with high quality photos of the art in their galleries and on top of that there's google art project and other collections like that

Make it a priority to draw 1hr a day. You can't skip a day, no matter how busy or are or whatever. Once you instill a habit it gets easy, you'll probably get anxious if you skip a day. But you have to force it as a beginner. One hour a day will turn to 2, and 3, etc, over time.

Are there side projects for fun? Because just grinding fundies with zero fun isn't really productive, it should be obvious that people learn better when they learn with fun stuff related, be it either anime shit, vidya fanart, porn, anything, not just boxes
we used to have a /crybabygeneral/
wonder where that went
Is there a photoshop plugin or something that would register 0 pressure coming from my pen once I pass a certain threshold? Whenever I get in the zone I don't notice how hard I'm pressing my pen against the screen and it results in a lot of hand strain. I keep thinking a plugin like that would go a long way toward helping me retrain myself.
I've had the same experience. I set up my tablet to be extra sensitive so that I don't have to press as hard to max it out a brush. I would love to try such a tool. I don't know if you can intercept and change pen input like that.
Go to your wacom properties and increase the softness. Basically will require less pressure to get higher opacity strokes, which means you won't need to ever use a lot of pressure to begin with,
Unless you work w/ no pressure sensitivity
/ic/, how do you render or learn a rendering technique?
Just everything I see is about drawing, yet I do not need to draw instead just be able to render material hand painting style.
I was arguing with a friend and he said that there no such thing as rendering technique it just drawing, but you can clearly get people horrible at drawing like Sakimichan and yet decent at rendering.
Pic sort of related. The person who did must have used some special brushes or something.
You can paint the textures, or you can just use a high res photo.
It doesn't take special brushes. A hard round and a soft round in Photoshop will do the trick.
>>3115286
Looks like just round brushes. This is a pretty shitty paint tho - especially for it having baked lighting.
>>3115286
>there no such thing as rendering technique
the negation of something's existence requires an argument otherwise it's just some faggot's word against the word itself. and the stack of books that exist on the subject.
hey /ic/
i have no creativity but i do want to draw something..
any suggestions (i'm not really good at it though)
thanks
>>3113823
that's like literally what /i/ is for
Learning to draw as a beginner isnt about your creativity. People, because we're snowflakes, dont like to hear that but its true. You can crudely draw hedgehogs and space marines if you want, but unless you commit to grinding fundamentals seriously until you reach a competent level in anatomy, perspective, form, sense of lighting etc. before you even consider flexing creative muscles all your dumb sketches and "creative" attempts are just internalizing and reenforcing mistakes and incompetence.
>>3113823
Draw a drawer, the furniture kind, drawing a drawer who is also drawing a drawer.
Last time I asked for critique on this, every reply except one said it was shit. So I listened to the critique and retouched it. How does it look?
If it's still shit please tell me why. Thank you.

Ehem*
It is simply an unappealing design/concept for your current abilities to properly execute it.
>>3113589
Can you be more specific? What about the design would suggest that?
IF YOU ARE A /BEG/INNER IN ART, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice. We should not have to make new threads or post in the Drawthread with our fundamental exercises.
Feel free to post even the smallest exercise you have done to show you are still trying, do not give up, make someone proud.
RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS:
#1)
>screenshot the image and post that instead
#2)
>change camera capture settings to something smaller
#3)
>send to computer and resize in MSPaint

TRY TO BE MORE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK - many studies are left unreplied, which is a bit sad and can be quite demotivating for the people that try their best to improve, but are left directionless.

Is making a sketch before draw is necessary?
a friend of mine is very retarded in terms of anything except drawing, he even can make western cartoon, animu , realism (understand perspective and anatomy) without sketch! he just scratch a paper with snowman drawing pen ,and BAM he already beat every /beg/ tier .he is barely practicing, all he's do is playing game , he doesnt even do digital , what making me hurt more, he does not even wish to dream to be a bro , "draw for fun" he say ........
and he's not studying loomis and draw box , he just UNDERSTAND IT
post his art I want to marvel at it
>>3113201
What you are describing is the perfect example of wasted talent, if he is half as good as you are saying he is, he could "make it", but instead he is playing vidya, its not wasted time if he is enjoying himself right?
is this practice chart true?
if so, how do I organize a schedule around it and with what learning materials
It's true.
Now start drawing, faggot
what learning materials are best for each level? what's a good schedule to get the most progress and make rapid advances in skill?
"Drawing with feeling is the most important technique" - Vincent Van Gogh
Fundie fags BTFO, this is why the most successful artists are the ones who mastered the technique of skipping the tedious construction parts through tracing/paintovers and focusing on the colors/fx.
>>3114209
>the most successful artists are the ones who mastered the technique of skipping the tedious construction parts through tracing/paintovers and focusing on the colors/fx.
I don't think van gogh was really concerned with "the most successful artists", anon
>>3114226
How do I become successful Brian
>>3114226
also, he hated digitalfags. One of my favorite quotes from van gogh was
"Digital art is the emptiest profession. Any art that causes one to look away in embarrassment and discomfort, rather than examine and consider, is fundamentally retarded."

I only draw animeme and it's not even digitally. My answer is no.

No, plenty of people suffer from a dunning-kruger.
It may be simple, but it's definitely not easy.
