Is this a good technique to try?
ITS... COLOR DODGE TIME!
Yes, being a successful artist is a good technique to try.
Getting 49k on patreon is a good technique to try
Not too sure if this is the right board to really make this thread.
I'm into weightlifting and over time developed a few stretch marks on my arms, so I've been thinking of getting a full sleeve tattoo, in part to cover up my stretch marks, in part because I think they're cool.
Can you guys share some designs you like / find artistic and creative?
I've always had an interest in abstract art, over drawings from life such as typical tattoos of flowers, mountains or space.
So I'm interested in what like minded artistic people can recommend?
Slow board or...?
>>3114992
no disrespect man but 99% of /ic/ is done to death with tattoo threads. i suggest going to pinterest and searching "tattoo sleeve ideas" instead
and, yes, this is a slow board
>>3114996
Nah, that's cool, I am not a frequent poster and wasn't aware.
Will do, bud
Anyone here has more Moe face proportion tutorial? or maybe some tips
picture related

look at artists you like
study them
follow trends and absorb yourself in the medium
styles in otaku culture change
/thread concluded
in anime if you look close some loomis is still applied at some degree , i use this shit from loomis but anime is a style so it varies from artist to artist
sorry for shitty quality my pc died
Anyone here tried dexedrine or adderall/amps for increased focus while grinding through boring practice exercises? Do they help you learn more & get more done?
i take adderall for adhd but it increases my focus in all fields, it affects everyone differently though. just try it for a few weeks and dont take multiple like a retard
>>3114731
I have been on/off for a while(many years) so I know how it works. But I've never tried being on it while drawing.
Sometimes it helps w/ focus but other times it can feel jittery and like I just NEED to do something, anything. I can't imagine that would help w/ drawing cause you'd end up putting down marks without really thinking.
Curious to get others' experiences drawing on this stuff. I know it's valuable when used properly but I don't know how useful it is when trying to learn art
>>3114676
The more important question would be how to get the stuff on a regular basis
>mfw realize how much unglorious ungodly hours of boring practise you need to put in to be able to make something really good
>mfw magic fading from my infatuation with 'being an artist'
Why not focus on the journey of learning and seeing your self improve from last month? It's what's keeping me going. If you viewed practice as "boring" to the point of waning interest, were you really meant to make it?
that's the reason why a lot of people quit learning instruments too. they bite off more than they can chew, or they just find out it's not for them
it's natural to cross some roadblocks or frustration. keep working hard and it will pay off.
in all honesty, the interest isnt fading.
Im just in shock.
This whole time IVe been drawing, I believed myself to have some magical ability to draw, I desperately needed to see myself as being special in that regard. And now, I'm in a position where I'm really pressuring myself to get better and just fix all my mistakes, and I'm realizing I never really practised in my life.
So the dreamer artist will take a backseat from this point on.
You should be able to solve this.
>>3113168
Not at all.
only 1/4 and 2/3 are the same
>>3113168
wtf?
A and B are not sets.
The two in the middle are the same and 1st and 4th one are the same.
Is nude drawing required in all art degrees?
My college requires us to take a class in which we draw nude live models. My religion prohibits me from this but I love art. Do you have to do this?
You need to specify what religion, sandnigger
>>3113108
The only thing I could think that maybe you could avoid it with would be like graphic design, and that's no guarantee. I have a couple GD majors in one of my nude classes, but might not be a requirement for them.
As far as fine art is concerned if you wanted to actually have a connection to the practice as an ancient tradition, you'd need to draw nudes. And if you really want to understand a subject it is best observed directly.
Then again universities will probably do their best to accommodate you if they see you as an Oppressed Minority Class®
does your religion even have a good reason to prohibit it? after you die just talk to your god about it i dunno
>/ic/ will want to refute this.
Pro tip: You can't.
Neat anatomy and shitty ZUN drawings. You're breaking new bait ground anon.
>>3112751
I can't. I came here for anime and only get naked real men and some old cartoonist fag named loomis
>>3112751
is it really possible to make it as a pro artist without going to art school?
do any of you know of any professional / high level artists that aren't going to / haven't gone to art school?
i'm. depressed, and i need some inspiration.
Im sorry to tell you OP but inspiration is only temporary and will only take you so far you need some dedication to move past it and to keep creating art. Just do it everyday constantly keep learning and you will make it. Keep going my friend best of luck to you.
Sakimichan, Artgerm, a ton of mangaka, etc.
>>3111917
Sakimichan did go to artschool. She studied animation.
I've been a freelance artist for the past 3 years. I browse 4chan from time to time and it just pains me how many stupid answers people give on here that just lead aspiring beginners astray. So, in order to remedy that, I'll be taking your questions.
Art is mine
How to into oil paint?
>>3110056
Heya, what resources did you use to git gud? And where do you get references from/how often do you draw from imagination?
ok guys im looking to learn how to draw gore art/guro better. i have trouble with drawing realistic organs and blood as well as making the skin look like it is properly breaking and tearing like skin does. anything to help me with this?
any books that show scars or wounds would also be helpful
Find a medical atlas which features detailed diagrams of internal organs and use the pics as reference.
it's not that hard to find references for even the most fucked up shit you wanna draw. the website you're currently posting on is a good start. go on /b/ and wait for a gore thread.
>>3116970
ive posted gore threads, they usually ger deleted soon after
I wanted to share a little something from the deep end.
Its being finished off btw so technically its done but will still be making adjustments. the top right part is too flat.
>>3114608
I would like to ask... the deep end of what?
>>3114711
The deep end of OP's skills.
Does anyone have that picture from a Japanese artist about levels of mastery or something? He used that blue touhou girl to demonstrate the skill involved at each level and from level 4 or so onward it got kinda redundant, and I can't seem to find it but I would like to see it again, please and thank you.
>>3114393
It's by Nsio

>>3114396
>tfw second mastery at best
gotta grind more
im high as fuck and my own paint project on windows ten makes me feel like i need an ego death. it's pretty scary. id love to hear thoughts what do you think my subconscious is trying to say
lol I actually like it. Good colour composition and nice variations in the gestural mark-making. I don't give a fuck about what your subconscious is trying to say but you should keep going and see where it goes.
>>3114078
thanks!
I think you need a real death
How do I draw a professional level, but like the Japanese?
I watch anime as well
what level are you at?
>>3113757
its actually hilarious how shit dbz anatomy is
