I graduated from Ringling college of art and design. This piece I'm showing you gained me the attention of the CEO's of Marina Abremovic. It was created during my freshman year of college after years of hadwork and study of the greats. I've studied the anatomical structure of all living creatures inside and out, even mechanical machines like cars and helicopters. I know how to build a car from the inside out. I've accomplished many things in my life but this is by far my greatest achievement of becoming an intern at the MAI with a six figure income. I'd like to say to all of /ic/ that anything is possible. I learned a lot from this board and also taught many, more then you can ever imagine. If I can get here you can too. All you need is ambition and motivation and drive and the want to do what you are going to do so that you can do. I did it.
Check out my deviant art SirReddo, I call this the loveland frog.

Why do people do this? I even follow back.
>>3122190
The problem is your followed back.
>>3122193
I figured that was the problem. So I should just stop following people then?
There's not much you can do about it. You should or shouldn't have liked them or they you or and also these people do or do not like, and if you unfollow , and all its permutations.
Keep drawing and hoping something works out ok.
:/
Though being an artist you have to be honest about your life. I think. Same with the poets. A lot of their lives are total disasters but we still believe in them.
Up to you trollo dog.
Am I a talentless hack?
yes?

It's okay progress. The bottom has shitty smudges and is also reffed from an ad, therefore looking even more shitty. It definitely looks way better than the top one though and that's all that matters since that person isn't a serious artist, probably some hobbyist. Also, for this, it looks more like an observational drawing skill than anything else. No construction, minimal skill in light and shadow. But yeah, any artist worth their salt would be really good if they always pushed themselves for ten years. Look at Algenplfeger and Dave Rapoza.

Considering you have to build everything 1 block at a time, I imagine it takes significantly longer than just doing it in sketchup.
i actually have tried, as much as i wouldn't like to admit
it isn't that great, it's much easier to just spend 15 minutes searching for a proper reference
I see artists like this (Paul Sinus) selling prints of their pieces in places like Amazon that feature images from Game of Thrones, Marvel, celebrities, you name it. How though? Does he have to pay some sort of royalty for their use? His website's in german so I don't understand how he does it.
This kind of thing. He's got loads. I quite like them btw.
I dont sell my Fanart but Some people get lucky and never get a copyright strike for their fanart, Hell some people just upload screenshots from shows and movies to redbubble and sell them pretty well without ever getting taken down while people who make caricitures will have them removed.
does copyright even apply to a person's likeness?
like, I saw a billboard advertising a forklift rental company that had a huge painting of Trump on it, yet I somehow doubt they paid him to use his face
Yo my friend drew this (@mildly_happy on instagram), whadya think?

I couldn't afford any schools for animation, so got into web development to build a career, but I fucking hate it. How do I swallow reality's giant black cock and fully give up on a passion/dream?
At least you didn't waste 4 years of your life before giving up.
I stopped pretending 'dreams' 'ambitions' meant anything to me. I just saw it in disney/pixar movies and assumed it was the most important thing to a human being. What I eventually found out was that each persons life has its own set of priorities and you have to ask yourself what those are.
>tfw drawing for 4 years and made it
Don't give up, OP :)
should I just take a loan and shell out $20k a year for art school?
seems like connections are important
Becoming a debt slave just to get a few connections seems like a bad call.
>>3120158
It's not worth it. Most of the people in your class will suck ass and be years behind you, so just don't waste the money
>>3120159
how else are you supposed to make it when the industry is so closed?
Ok /ic/ ur fucked. You just got fired from your job for stealing and damaged your rep and cant get another job. How do you sell your art and actually make a sustainable income?
-what mediums and formats sell?
-how to gain following?
-how to price higher?
-should you commission, license, sell fine art, etc.?
-how to licensing?
pic unrelated. not even mine.

It's a really cliche "tattoo motif" tattoo.
That said, a big motivator for me to improve my art is to be able to give myself really sick stick and pokes.
What are some distinct art styles you like? Stuff you don't see a lot of artists do.

can we have a line art thread?
>>3122004
How do I get better lines?
So i just found this painting in the grandfather house. Is it worth something? The title on the down left corner says B.nawrocki 88
>>3121603
What is written on the back? It is hard to establish any provenance as more information is needed. Can you take a close up photo of the signature? The name didn't come up in any searches. Where did your grandfather get it? What is the size of the piece? I will check a few more places and be right back.
I guess its Bolesław Nawrocki. I've got it in Gdansk poland and i assume the said city is painted here. No idea where it came from tho
>>3121603
You would need to post much more information and clearer photos. From the subject matter it looks to be a Dutch or Flemish style painting. If 88 is the year it could be referring to 1688 or 1788. If it is a 329 year old painting it still may not be worth much if it is not in good condition and you can't show provenance.
