So how´s religion gonna pay back for all they´ve stolen and all the harm it has caused to the world throughout history ?

with prayers of forgiveness :^)
>>1798595
prayer does nothing, we gotta prepare and do it ourselves, "forgiving" is BS BTW...
>>1798589
>all the harm it has caused
People did that, and would have one way or another (again, all the horrible things atheists have done). The fact that it’s existed in one form or another throughout history has just made it an easy scapegoat so unpleasant aspects of human behaviour don’t have to be analyzed.
I think that eugenics is wrong and immoral and comes from a lack of understanding of Darwin's evolution theory and rather follows the ideas Lamarck had about animals which is actually has been proven to be wrong and there is no proof of it ever working in history.
Or am I wrong? Has eugenics ever worked in history?

Horses on the other hand, maybe.
In regards to dogs, that was fucked up too
Even if you're not religious - do you think the death of spirituality is a bad thing for society?
>>1798411
>spirituality
>society
spirituality doesn´t die, religions come and go
religious 'morals' just teach people to be cucks and how to be good subjects for their rulers, so no
What caused the revolution of nu-theology in Protestantism? It seems like it's spreading like wildfire, more and more Protestant denominations are having things like gay marriage.

It's hilarious when you watch those videos of them trying to run from police but end up tripping because of their pants.
So I've just seen pic related, and to me it appears the Nazis (Germans) were just plebs who couldn't understand the superior tastes and intellect of the Jews. They criticised
>modern Art
>modern Physics
>modern Film
as Jewish, but history proved them wrong. Was Nazi Germany just a revolt of the plebs?
Can one [COLAPSE] /pol/bait?
>the superior tastes
You mean like foreskin? Fuck off kike your race consists of nothing but pedos
>>1797981
>Were Nazis just plebs?
Yes.
The Italian fascists were the true patricians.
Could he have actually conquered the whole world if his soldiers didn't mutiny? Is there any value in conquering the world beyond saying "I was the guy who did it"?
>>1797911
>Could he have actually conquered the whole world if his soldiers didn't mutiny?
I believe that yes.
>Is there any value in conquering the world beyond saying "I was the guy who did it"?
Yes.Picture yourself saying to yours grandsons:¨I conquer the world¨
>>1797911
>Could he have actually conquered the whole world
Absolutely not.
Would there have been any value in it? Impossible to say.
Alexander was pretty good at adapting to and embracing other other cultures (specifically the Persian culture). He would probably have been able to expand his empire and keep it stable. But the whole world? No way. And it would have disintegrated the moment he died, even without a succession crisis. He was was in a unique position and uniquely talented for his time.
>>1797968
The world at that time wasn't very large. If he conquered India and Arabia and made gains into more of Africa, central Asia and Europe, and consolidated those places under his rule, we would see Avery different world today.
Why pick a mace over warhammer? I mean a warhammer even has a spike while with a mace you can only bash so why use a more limited weapon? Maces were shit.
Aesthetics.
>>1797956
Every mace looks like a pile of shit compared to even the worst looking warhammers.
Mace has a heavier head and is more versatile. With a mace you can hit with most sides, Warhammer only two. Ergo its probably easier to hit a glancing hit with a warhammer than a mace.
I still like both equally as much though.
Swords are overrated garbage
>m-muh sidearm
yeah handguns are also sidearms and guess how often soldiers actually use them
>>1797880
>yeah handguns are also sidearms and guess how often soldiers actually use them
If they were like swords then probably enough t o deal 5-7% of wounds, since that is not unheard of for swords
Sword are good at killing saracens

Source would be nice.
How would history be different if there were no such thing as psychoactive plants and chemicals? Would we even have music still?
>dude weed lmao
Cultures that had natural psychedelics all have noticeably different religions from cultures that didn't in they believe that everything has a spirit or life force instead of just deities or one deity in another dimension

Everyone knows USSR entered the war in 1941 because the Nazis attacked them.
You know in DC comics where the Joker and all the other crooks capture Batman and put him on trial? That's what Nuremberg was.
Does /his/ want to look over a WWI college paper from america covering the spread of nationalism in europe?
Sure. Why didn't you post it in the first place?
its not finished but here
While the First World War gets recognition in recent years with the past few years being the 100th anniversary of many important events during the war and more modern pop culture references to The Great War there are many eyes from around the world fixed on the time period. From our vantage point in the modern era, we can see that the dynastic rulers of Europe were not able to control the will of nationalism. The fear of nationalism is what prompted the concert of Europe to try turn back the clock to a time before napoleon and nationalism to go back to an era of dynastic rulers in Europe with large multicultural empires rather than smaller “nations”. It is because of these nationalist passions that the European monarchs did not have control over was the primary cause of the First World War. The power had in effect, been usurped from the dynastic monarchs and given to nationalists like Hindenburg and Ludendorff whose decisions and power could rival, and even exceed that of the Germany’s Kaiser Wilhelm II. National interests would soon act to undermine the principles of the concert of Europe as the events of the July Crisis unfolded and the eventual start of the First World War started and broke the stability that it promised. Europe’s monarchs could not control nationalism and by the time they understood this fact, there was nothing in their power to stop the consequences from unfolding, not just in Germany but all across Europe, nationalism was on the rise.

When looking at the First World War, one must not look at the July Crisis first but rather the events occurring 100 years before at the Concert of Europe. The Concert of Europe wanted to turn the clock back on time and undo the influence of Napoleon and the birth of nationalism in Europe. This Concert of Europe promised to guarantee stability in Europe and make sure nationalist influence could never take hold in Europe again. This however was not a permanent solution and as we now know did not spare Europe the influence of nationalism forever as for nationalism would once again be on the rise when Germans called for unification and again when Germany was united by Otto von Bismarck. Bismarck had used nationalism as a vehicle to push Prussian conservative values. Under Bismarck the German empire underwent a period of industrial growth and military preparation, what some might call an arms race that would last throughout serving as Germanys Imperial Chancellor from 1871 to 1890. This preparation was in part a term that Bismarck called “balance of power”. Other balances of power that Bismarck implemented include the forming of the triple alliance. Towards the turn of the century the Schlieffen plan was devised by the request of Wilhelm II and created by the German Chief of Staff Alfred von Schlieffen.
What would China be like today if Mao Zedong was defeated by Chiang Kai-shek and the communists still in China after Mao's defeat were eradicated?
>>1797379
Chiang Kai-shek and his posy were corrupt as fuck and squandered all the money the US sent them to fight against the commies...so China would be worse.
>>1797379
For sure would be better.Anything instead of commies is better.
>>1797391
>to fight against the commies
Money well spent
How cultured, you feel, a 19-year old should be as an individual?
I always feel like an ignorant buffoon reading threads and posts here and on /lit/ and other "smarter" boards, or, at least, the boards that deal with more intelligent subjects. I'm aware it's foolish to compare yourself to the collective knowledge of an entire website, however I feel like I'm less educated than the majority of the people who post on said boards. Before, I'd just blame it on my age, but now I'm an adult, and though my general knowledge has increased of course, I still feel like I'm one step behind everyone else.
>>1797165
"smart" board is code-word for pseudo intellectual board.
There is no such thing as a smart 4chan board.
You're still very young. Also if you actually actively try to gain new knowledge in various fields you're pretty much more cultured than 99% of the people in the real world. Once you go out into the world you'll see how pleb most people are.
>>1797174
That's why I put it in quotations and said boards that deal with more intelligent subjects right after.
Over 30 years ago, this was said in Ferris Bueller's Day Off:
>Ferris: Not that I condone facism; or any ism for that matter. Isms, in my opinion, are not good. A person should not believe in an ism, he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon, “I don’t believe in ‘Beatles’, I just believe in me.”
How can we stop associating ourselves with the various "isms" and just be our self?
For example, "determinism" is a type of belief system and now a "determinist" is a person who identifies with this new "ism".
Of course we all associate ourselves with ideas, but when the ideas take over the person, like when a Marxist loses their own identity for the sake of an abstract "ism", rather than just having an appreciation for Marx.
Discuss?
Many isms are deeply flawed, but without any kind of values you do things like drive recklessly, kill a mother and daughter and fake amnesia in an attempt to avoid responsibility for what you did.
>>1796857
http://phrontistery.info/isms.html
This site has like over 200 of them...
>>1796857
Rejecting isms is just childish rebellion and poisonous to learning.
No matter how much of a special snowflake you think you may be, somebody somewhere has written on your exact opinions and developed them far better than you can. Studying this ism can help you better understand the issues you care about, and lead you down other paths to other isms that you may end up with.
If you truly, somehow manage to have a unique belief system that is non-contradictory, create your own ism and share it with the rest of us.
