You probably would have seen a reversion towards warlordism, and another round of what you saw in China in the 10s and 20s.

The KMT never really ran China outside of a few provinces they had presence in, most of the rest was just demanding tributes from smaller warlords. Unless you can give them an ability to actually run the places they 'take', which they displayed an inability to do so after the Encirclement Campaigns, I don't see any long term prognosis for them staying in power in a stable manner.

It would be a Western puppet with a higher GDP per capita but Asia would be completely defeated. China is the only thing keeping the region from complete Western domination after Japan's defeat. China must keep hope alive that one day Asia can be free.
