How cultured, you feel, a 19-year old should be as an individual?
I always feel like an ignorant buffoon reading threads and posts here and on /lit/ and other "smarter" boards, or, at least, the boards that deal with more intelligent subjects. I'm aware it's foolish to compare yourself to the collective knowledge of an entire website, however I feel like I'm less educated than the majority of the people who post on said boards. Before, I'd just blame it on my age, but now I'm an adult, and though my general knowledge has increased of course, I still feel like I'm one step behind everyone else.

You're still very young. Also if you actually actively try to gain new knowledge in various fields you're pretty much more cultured than 99% of the people in the real world. Once you go out into the world you'll see how pleb most people are.

You now know the main european countries, that Germany was shit at war for most of its history, that the British Empire was only bug during the late 19th century and not during the US Revolution, that vikings were shitty warriors...etc

You cannot learn everything. The humanities are a huge subject encompassing many different things. School yourself on what interests and fascinates you, and learn it well. If the subject doesn't personally ignite anything inside you, don't worry about learning it unless it is extremely significant. As you read more stuff, you will gain some superficial knowledge on those subjects. As long as you don't try and argue about things you don't know you should be good.
