It looks like a face.
>>270358
i dig it, what's it for?
looks a bit facey though, yeah. and the S seems a bit off to me compared to the rest of the font
>>270386
Internet coffee company that will probably fail in six weeks. Really interested in the face, though. What do you think could reduce that?
Hey senpai I need a graphic designer for my advertising agency. I prefer outsource (I'm in California, USA) because it helps someone get rich in their country and helps me pay less.
Please send any samples or portfolio to:
[email protected]
subject: BIZFAM
most will be logos, shitty flyers or coupons and some email blast stuff. If you have web development skills please note. (I will pay you separately for your web dev skills)
Your portfolio or samples don't have to be advert stuff, I just need to know that you can actually use the adobe suite and understand aesthetics. (color theory-what looks 'good')
It's ok if you don't speak english as long as you can design. I also speak spanish fluently and can communicate basic french. You need to be able to work from home and have excellent turn around/projects deadlines. I'll provide you with adobe creative suite.
Thanks senpai

please email any questions too or feel free to post here
Is this kind of things getting popular?

digital marketing or hiring through 4chan?
I asked 4chan because I like to keep the business in the family
How do I connect with a graphic designer willing to do piecework on the cheap? I'm an organizer with a small, non-profit organization. We run a sort of community centre and union hall for buskers, hobos, panhandlers, scrappers, and others who make their living on the street. We fund everything out of our own pockets, so we're pretty much always broke. We have a little bit of money from a GoFundMe and are looking to get a logo made.
Our logo will be extremely simple; the idea is to make it something like the Alfred Hitchcock's logo (see pic) -- something which can be hand-drawn in a matter of seconds by anyone, but is instantly recognizable. Our centre is named after Utah Phillips, who has a pretty distinctice appearance: fedora + big beard, basically. I could probably take a shot at it myself, but if we can get it done cheaply I'd rather have it professionally made.
Does anyone know of a place I could go to find a graphic designer willing to work on-the-cheap for something which will probably take them a half-hour's work or less?
Mods: Please note, I'm not here looking for free work, I'm trying to find out how to connect with entry-level graphic designers willing to work cheap.
I'd like you to consider this chart before posting further.
I think you should just do it yourself. Save the money since its so easy to draw. Plus you know exactly what you want it to look like. Buy some food or supplies.

And beyond that, I'll say that there are plenty of designers out there who have no problem designing for non-profits for reduced pricing or even free, especially if it's for a cause they identify with.
I am not one of those designers.
To appeal to designers like me, who won't put pen to paper without due compensation, offer them a wide degree of creative freedom instead. Let them design whatever they design, and use it. The next best thing to getting paid is getting a shiny new portfolio piece, and it's a lot easier to come up with something you're happy to show off when the client allows you full creative control.
tl;dr appeal to ego when you can't appeal to greed
those are usually more interesting than >>>wsr garbage. Tell us where you study, vand how you like it. Discuss your teachers, complain about finals, plan mass shootings, etc
It's been about 8 years since I graduated, and during my time there, I grew a simmering hatred for the fine art students (my degree, comic art ( _totally_ useful and worth _every_ cent), fell under auspices of design, as does illustration).
The one advantage I got from college was learning to take critique, and finding the appropriate way to defend my decisions even if majority of my classmates thought some aspect was shit.
Fine art students? Couldn't. This one asshole, for her figure drawing final, arranged a pile of confetti under a fake faucet, and said it was here "drawing." When called out by many of us, she spouted some meaningless bullshit about "deconstruction." When further called out, she shut down and pouted.
Fucking fine art students...
I study in Dortmund, Germany.
Positives:
-Good courses in typography (Swiss School)
-Prinz courses are gold
- Has a "lab" for experimental binding techniques
- Lots of interdisciplinary projects
- Lots Or excursions (Marocco, Mongolia, Estonia, Spain...)
- Small classes
- Lots oft student organized exebitions
- No tuition
- you have to be a 300 kilo retarded neckbeard not to get laid
Negatives:
- No Gamedesign
- Webdesign courses are rare
- Very little industry cooperations
- I cant get laid
I am currently living in the United states finishing up high school and I'm looking for good game design programs. Currently I plan on studying at Danish Royal Acadamy of Design and Architecture. Any pointers / anyone heard of this place?
Thoughts on the new DC Comics logo?
Reflects their current quality of work.
>DC Entertainment revealed a new logo today, as the "new identity and logo for its iconic DC brand." The logo replaces the opening page logo they launched just ahead of the New 52 reboot in 2011.
>The logo doesn't feature the word "comics," mirroring Marvel's approach to creating a single logo to use across multiple media. This isn't the first DC logo to remove the "comics," though, so it's not exactly a sea change: the iconic "DC bullet," which was used from 1976 until 2005, didn't feature the word. In fact, no logo from 1970 until 2011 used "comics."
>The logo bears a striking resemblance to the clean, simple 1972 design, albeit with a font that's more reminiscent of the '76 or 2005 reinventions.
>The new DC branding will be introduced immediately on various digital platforms, including DC websites, social media channels, DC All Access webseries, and DC All Access app and will continue to rollout worldwide across all DC content and products.
>The new identity and logo were developed in partnership with Pentagram, the world’s largest independent design consultancy.

76 was the hottness unless the comic cover itself was black
I was paid $7,000 for this art.
Do you approve?
>>270245
$7 sounds adequate to me
>>270246
This isn't your average ms paint work, kiddo.
In fact, it got me a contract for 10 more artworks at 10,000 minimum each.
But stay mad and do your flat shadow designs for Indian app developers.
Hey,
need some critiques for my new design.
Those are labels for my homemade liquors.
What do you think?
>>271486
All variations of labels:
Cherry, Plum, Lemon, Gooseberry, Orange
Nice anon
>>271488
i think it's a little boring (specially for young people) but it depends of your target market. also the font makes the text difficult to read and the logo could need some final details.
can you guys help me slap these two photos together? I want the red background to be behind the females face.
its for a trap mixtape my dudes
>>271484
like this?
look @ ma doubole exposure
Referring to the font in the red banner. Many thanks and pixies your direction.
why? what do you like about it? It has a cheap quality in my opinion. Like this is the kind of font that you see in Walmart, Kmart, or any company with a low income target market. It's not sophisticated. It belongs on bursts and banners, announcing "great deals" Just my opinion tho.
Just a calligraphic font
Try these

You're a dick.
I don't know the font OP, but I do know that you have a good chance of finding most fonts if You straighten them out in Photoshop, space the letters apart and use whatthefont.com to detect letters.
Good luck. I like the font.
what do you think of my new album cover?
I kinda like it. What kind of music is it?
it's going to be george benson give me the night % vaporwave
>>270963
I'd be happy to hear that.
I'm doing graphics design as a gcse. How can I start off? And how can I get good idea's? Because I find it hard getting a decent idea. I love making websites, buy sometimes struggle with css, and div classes. Thank you! :D
*but
Will be back soon. Sleep, I will reply tomorrow :D thanks guys
>how can I get good idea
by working like the rest of us.
>Illustrator CC 2015
>handles don't snap
WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK, ADOBE?!
>>270940
Time to upgrade to CC.
Sadly, yes.
For whatever reason, since CC2015, handles snap to everything BUT the grid.
This can be circumvented by a retarded method; use the Rectangular Grid tool to make a grid of guides and lock them. For now, it's the only fix we've got.
Adobe has been notified but so far no answer.
Incompetent fucks.
>>270940
what does handle snap mean?
Im using cs 6 for AI
I made this in Adobe Photoshop CS6 and im looking for some critique on it. Any feedback is acceptable.
The first thing that distracted me was the shadows. They aren't very realistic. Especially with the fireball. It would be creating a glow on the ground below it, not casting a shadow.
Looks like something you would get if you paid a random indian $2
I would use rule of thirds on the backgrounds to pull it together a little bit more. The earth lookin ball seems to have mountains which don't flow with the ocean and lava rock.
How do I remove the background of this without taking a long time and use the erase tool?
Photoshop has a background erase tool that works fairly well
>>270593
photoshop - duplicate layer - hide the original - magic wand tool at 40% - select black - delete - save as png. there's ppl at /wsr/ that could do it for you (sometimes i help).
>>270597
I'll try it, I'll ask if i need help
What on earth sort of obscure situation would I be in that I could say "font" instead of "typeface", and the person I'm talking with not know what I mean?
The person would have to have to have some knowledge of typography. The distinction between both is one of the first anyone reading about the topic learns.
Knowing that fonts are files and typefaces are the actual letter forms is useful, but Joe Schmoe doesn't give a damn...and there are designers with their pretentious heads so far up their ass that they don't grasp they need to dumb it down for Joe Schmoe...and they think of Joe Schmoe as the only retard when they're acting autistic about the whole thing themselves.
>>270777
Nice trips and good point. The pretentious turboautism in designers is a defence mechanism to validate their expertise. They are out to prove to their client they know what they're talking about and can take care of it. While I hate it, i have sympathy because it prevents clients interfering because they become subordinate in knowledge.
