The text to the right is too thin, it makes it less noticable and harder to read.
there's so much space it's kind of annoying that they're just kinda slapped in the corner.
I have to make font for one of my classes, I've done my research and all but i just have no idea where to get started or what to make. there's already a shit load of fonts and making one that's good and new is pretty hard. help?
pic related it's my useless professor
>>268987
start by making one letter
stop when you've made all letters
>>268988
don't stop when you made all letters. Start numbers, and when you finish do symbols. Only then your work is done
I have made a bunch of logo variations, and I have looked at them for so long I can't really tell which are good anymore. My brain is fried - maybe you can help me out!
Please give any feedback - which one do you like best? Why? What sucks? Why?
The logo is for a technical education company. I started with the open source hardware logo as a base, hopefully I have moved far enough from that design not to confuse anyone.
I made a ton of variations.
Does text in this logo make any sense?

Sucks. Everything about it sucks except for the graphics/editing people for the videos.

These are some dope artworks designed by 18 year old Jediah. His Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/Jediah
He also makes some good music.

"Designed"
>>267012
He did it from scratch. You're mad cause you can't design for shit
tracing and adding filters/effects doesn't count as "design," and never really did.
that's just illustration...mostly tracing.
get the rulers & pencils, get German... or get out.
Which one is the best for /gd/?? currently i'm sold to the ASUS GL552 mostly because of the display, but other than that, what would you recoommend getting instead?

Hi /gd/, i just finished this school project. I was ment to design a poster for a TV series. This one is for K2000, whose original title is "The Knight Rider".
What are your thoughts on this ?
great job OP solid poster, but you'd better get better feedback on /ic/ though considering it's about 98% illustration
not much feedback we can give on one heading a small piece of copy at the bottom
good shit tho senpai nice illy
>>267109
I really like it OP, good work.
>>267109
It's been a long time since the last time I saw some really good OC here.
Gratz OP, this is awesome!
Okay, I know this is like announcing open season for trolling but I actually need help.
I'm helping a family friend design their wedding invite however they want the border gold instead of black.
Have tried watching video tutorials about how to do this on photoshop but all the options I'm supposed to choose are greyed out.
Halp pls. Much appreciated.
Is the layer transparent, meaning only the border shows?
>>268832
If so, just go to your blending options and throw a nice gradient or something on it. If not find a transparent border and use it.

Why do you have the old South African flag minus the centre part in your design?
>>268792
Just like the color palette.
Nothing about conspiracy
>>268788
I like the glyph.
Football crests are all over the fuckin map, though so.
I think anything can pass as one.
My rowing team needs a new logo. The one we currently have is a shitty stock image and its been like this for years. Goes without saying its time for a change. Does anyone have some god-tier logos involving bulldogs or is anyone willing to make one?
THAT'LL BE $199.99
here
i like all meburn boledogs logos
I am learning to animate and my teacher did this cool guy walking:

(non related picture)
>>268720
I don't understand what's the point of this thread.
Your teacher kind of sucks though, that's poorly animated. Character seems weightless and the walk itself lacks personality.
In order for the character to have weight, a low/recoil position should be keyframed
>pic related
Google "the animator's survival kit pdf". That's basically a big book on how to animate walks properly. It's aimed at traditional 2d animators but the principles are the same.
>>268720
there's usually an animation thread on /ic/
>>268722
Fucking everything sucks according to /gd/
You can make the most amazing design known to man and the people of /gd/ will still shit on it. It's like even before they see the graphic they already think it sucks.
Which books did you personally read when studying before you felt you knew enough to do the job?
I ordered Meggs' History yesterday as the wiki said but I want to know what are the more essential books on the list or otherwise.
Also I know this gets asked here often enough but is it worth going to school if you study on your own?
>>268604
Meggs' History is a great book.
Gardner's Art Through The Ages is also a great one to have. I think there's a few different versions... the one I have is about 4in thick. A very long read but it covers EVERYTHING.
>>268605
Jesus that's huge. Thanks for the suggestion, man.
>>268605
I have one for Art History at Uni, but it's Western Centric, and I think it ignores the rest of the world too much. Is the non "Western Perspective" book really good?
Begin public service announcement:
Faggots of /gd/. I bet you $200 you can't create this pic related. Hint: blend tool in AI.
>>268426
You're not going to pay up anyway, so who cares.
>>268426
is this just a subtle way of asking for help in recreating that effect? I've done similar stuff with the blend tool but the lightning/shadowing doesn't look as "dynamic" as your example
