How do I design a roofing company logo without falling for the horrible "roof shape" meme? Is it even possible?
does it have to be a roof? how about you post your ideas and we'll tell you if you're in the right path.
I was always thinking of making it at least unconventional and distinctive, so I didn't just want to do some cool placement of text with a triangle above it. I've thought about it for a while but I think that there just wouldn't be a way for the client to actually portray the fact that they are roofers if I went with no visuals. I get that roofing is a very ubiquitous business, but I at least want to get some creativity going.
I am about to start a gd related study in Europe (Communication and Multimedia Design), and I think about moving to Canada once I'm done. Can /gd/ tell me whether it's a good idea? I was thinking about Toronto, what do anons think? Any help how could I even do that? Finding work in gd field after I move?
plenty of jobs here in Toronto.
An unspoken thing all Canadians know is that we're all somewhat lazy. Being European will give you a competitive edge in the field.
Bonus points if your minority, female, lgbtq, have a beard and manbun, ride a fixie etc...
It might be a bit of a cultural shock, be prepared to adapt quickly. I know this from roomies who are on work visas.
Be a talented artist and have a bombass portfolio website.
White, christian-raised agnostic, straight male.
But culture shock shouldn't be much of a problem, I'm living in Netherlands at the moment which is one of the Europe's most diversified countries. I lived through moving here, I will live through moving anywhere
Since the album 'Hesitant Alien' by Gerard Way came out, I've wanted to recreate the image effects done on the cover. How would one go about doing that? It looks like some basic 3D filters just done up over the photo to me.
Not even saying how it's named.
>the image effects done on the cover
It's called chromatic aberration
>How would one go about doing that?
lots of different ways, you will find lots of tutoriales with different methods.
I think grabbing the independent color channels and just moving them around a little is the easiest one.
im working on this for a friends podcast group thing, how bad is it?
(assuming it's not bait)
don't use gradients and/or flares on text (unless you have experience)
don't use dark background with dark text and/or a pure white background
it's too boring to look at try adding some contrast (not literally for example changing the size of the word "the")
add space on the sides so it doesn't look cut out
and the font is pretty bad (13 yrl old youtube tier kinda bad)
your use of gradient on the text kicks my butt, the font is the one my friend chose and its on a plain white/dark background just as a base so they can use it on whatever they want! i like the rearranged text u did, idk what u meant by bait
Fairly new to graphic desgin. please, critique and feel free to fix up or add touches. thank you.
I too am someone who is new to GD.
Anyway heres is my critique.
I think the OP is better than pic 2 because of the contrast between forground and background.
The font style is nice being playfully simple, but lacks a consistency throughout, which is mostly visible on the G and O.
The Font colour is nice.
all in all I would give this a 3/10. Keep practising.
I'm a design student and I really want to learn to make stuff like this but I'm just stuck on the process of how to do it. Any pointers?
Please critique my logo. I am brand new to the graphic design field and am designing a logo for a microbrewery that is called Molon Poto (Come and Drink It), which is a play of words on Molon Labe (Came and Take It).
Most everything is Greek based but I am in severe need of critique. Thank you.
i am on the makes of a tri fold brochure for my company, commercial purposes to get more clients (b2b mostly) but i cant quite figure out what to do in the cover. any suggestions ?
What's up with that rock in the middle and the picture of luggage. Do people really need a picture of luggage at an airport to remind them they're looking at a fucking travel brochure.
Also the family is dull as fuck. Honestly that brochure makes me want to buy a plane ticket to a country far far away from Brazil and go there instead.
yea he has a point. you seemed to have chosen the worst representatives to label brazil.
some generic family taking pictures by the ocean, a rock formation, luggage.
put more of something more closely related to the culture of brazil.
(and not cartel thugs on mopeds executing people on the street)
please understand that we work mainly with local agencys in foreign countries (we don't deal directly with the final costumer). I tried (poorly ikr) to represent our fields of activity which are Personal/Family and Professional/Corporate travel.
So this brochure is with the main reason to attract other agencys to work with us.
Anyway, id love more suggestions, but dont forget to point out how we could apply that Corporate travel.
Ill be taking the critiques in consideration and trying to show some progress.
thx so far
Here's a challenge. Try to make something that looks like it belongs in an app. It can be an icon, character, objects (coins, tools, trinkets etc) whatever. Any style is fine as well.
Here is mine, a get exp graphic
Need help creating a name for a drink having to many issues. Anyone wanna throw some ideas out there?
Is it beyond saving ? Critique please :(
I wanted it to look like a marble floor, with marble text.
The candles are to symbolise the lesser Marketing campaings, as you can see there is a bonfire next to the word marketing, symbolise greater marketing.
marble? but it looks like marketing for a cult or something dark.if you're using photoshop try downloading and learning from this text styles:
not saying those are great but it could give some options aside from shadows and gradients.
for those of you working as a graphic designer, how often do you do letterhead or envelope or invitation design?
how long have you been designing for?
my graphic design professor just makes it seem like if you can't design an envelope then you wont work in this field. and I really just suck at designing envelopes.
Need label for beer,
