>iphones cost less to make than zenfones yet sell for nearly double the price
think different ;)
>MacBook Pros cost less to make than ThinkPad Ps
>sell for nearly three times the price
>with worse hardware
>while being less durable

good artists copy, great artists steal
I've tried learning vim, and it's alright for some things, but it is taking way too long to get used to.
Should I try learning emacs instead? I'm really scared for the integrity of my pinkies if I do.
You probably should. Learning either of them will make writing code a much more pleasurable job. Though I wonder what it is about Vim you found so slow to learn.
You want to know if you should throw out the progress you've made so far so you can start all over again in another equally complicated learning process?
>>56021297
Stop using HJKL while you're learning.
im to easily amused
why am i so hard to amuse
Is this a real BSOD (minus the funny reaction meme picture) or did OP make it with mspaint?
>>56021676
It's the real one including the powerpuff girl picture.
Do you guys overclock your "just about to get-swapped" GPU to death before you install the new one? I want to burn down my 750ti for no reason, it gave me a lot of happiness in these last two years and worked on a shitty PSU like a charm, but now I just want to do this thing.
>>56021205
I wouldn't do it in case it would damage other components (i'm not sure if that's an actual issue though)
You could just sell it on ebay. I've seen used ones go from 70-110
>>56021205
man I gave my old hardware to my little cousin he was thrilled to finally get into pc gaming why not make a kid happy instead
Just sell it to make some money back or put money towards buying that new card.
Best C++ book written In the past six years. Please help me.
>>56021161
Go to O'Reilly and go to shop and then by subject. There is a programming language section and you can select C/C++. Then put any interesting titles in libgen. Then read.
>>56021441
Libgen is a website by the way
>>56021161
The C++ Programming Language 4th edition if you want something comprehensive and know at least a little about programming.
Why do people not buy computers anymore?
What kind of a faggot casual would choose to not have a computer in their home, and instead buy an ipad?
Is it the Browning of America, with the third world black and brown people being too dumb to own a PC?
>>56021145
I guess so
>>56021145
>says the faggot, while posting on 4chan
>>56021145
Why buy a new computer if the old one can still browse facebook like it could 10 years ago?
In the 1980s and 1990s everyone bought new PCs because the requirements were doubled every 2 years
In the 2000s everyone bought new computers because capacitors were shit
Is it okay to buy a $600 prebuilt desktop with a i76700 and put in a mid range 1060GTX or rx480 later?
>>56021119
No dumbass.
I don't know, I don't care, who the fuck cares? Who the fuck are you? Fuck you.
>>56021127
whats wrong shithead todays GPUs draw alot less power
Logan from Tek Syndicate is in London
Paul and Kyle are there
Luke from LTT is there
And the currently live PCPer podcast has revealed Ryan Shrout is there
Is this Vega? It has to be Vega. Earlier rumors saying October... A month ago SK Hynix started shipping HBM2...
It's obviously a hardware reveal, but I highly doubt it's Zen.
http://www.amdheaven.com/
RX 490 is scheduled for October, so I have my doubts they're showing their hand this early.
When's the last time Ryan has gone to a GPU event? I cant remember recently. Maybe that shows that it could be Zen.
Great thread anon.

Y tho
Does everything boil down to a pdf, browser, and shell? Is minimalism autism or does a student truly need much more than this?
You also need a text editor, and maybe audio playback.
You can just sit all day and stare into corner without doing anything. Surely you are sturdy enough to manage that.
>>56022200
No, you can get both of those in the shell.
vi[m]/emacs/nano for text editor
mpd for audio
For that matter you can use a shell-based browser and use pdftk to yank text out of pdf's.

Back in the day I once again fell for AMD meme and built a computer with FX9590. It served me relatively well as I'm doing a lot of stuff that require CORES, but it's getting pretty old nowadays. I was waiting for Zen but it seems like it won't be around until 2017 and even then only the 8-core one.
So, /g/, is it possible for me to sell out to Intel and upgrade without losing cores? From what I've seen hyperthreading works pretty well for my purposes, so i7 quad core would be a better equivalent to what i have now. I was also looking into i7 6800k and Xeons, but there are so many and I have no idea about Intel stuff as I haven't had one since P4. Any recommendations? Anyone doing any computational work?
>>56020645
You will rekt shit with an i7 or xeon but it will cost you an arm, a leg and your firstborn.
>>56020645
>Back in the day I once again fell for AMD meme and built a computer with FX9590
So 2 years ago?
>I was waiting for Zen but it seems like it won't be around until 2017 and even then only the 8-core one.
There's a 4c/8t and a 8c/16t
>so i7 quad core would be a better equivalent to what i have now
An i3 can beat what you have
>>56020708
I have shekels, but I don't want to pay $2000 for gayming 10-core if there is a cheaper alternative
>>56020716
3 years.
Maybe 8-core i3, but I don't see any
>tfw you fell for the TempleOS meme
>>56020604
Do you just shitpost all day
Are you NEET?
You're more interesting than the threads
>>56020604
Can you fucking stop
You're not using TempleOS at all, TempleOS has no networking stack. Stop lying on the internet, you piece of shit.
Good evening /g/,
does anyone here know how to get Matlab for Linux, for free...??
Thanks in advance
>>56020585
Have you finished C?
