What's wrong with Ubuntu 16.04 with Unity?
I installed TLC and Linrunner and the fans hardly ever kick on.
The dock is super comfy, it's very stable and everything is snappy and fast.
Because now you have a functioning desktop, we can't have that now can we? Better put some rice on there and update the kernel!

Why does /g/ dislike functionality?

could another competitor join the nuclear gpu arms race?
>>56030910
3dfx died because they followed their own mentality, not that of the changing market.
Another competitor would require absurd investment to enter the GPU market, not just in creating powerful enough hardware, but in creating driver software that works stable with so many past games.
Look at it this way: Intel tried it, and failed.
>>56030960
well with dx12 drivers matter less than compared with dx11. if performance is good enough in dx11 titles, but leads in dx12, it can be a success.
intel didn't really try though. they sorta did something that seemed like they wanted to, but then just.... stopped. as if they forgot about it.
though i do agree the funds required would be insane but there are players still out there with enough funds to hop in if they deem it worthy.
>>56030910
Nope. Nvidia will buy them out before they can stand a chance.
If even microsoft is not willing to make their own hardware, then no sane billionaire will do it.
Hello /g/ I just bought a T520,
Intel i5 2620m 2x2.5,
1600 x 900p,
4GB RAM
Price: 219Euro
I got it working by now and can recommend thinkpads because the hype is real.
There's just one question /g/:
The saleswoman told me that FullHD was significantly more expensive. Is that the case?
I bought one just like yours for 130 euro

a government decided to prohibit the development of an open source project? Would the ban achieve anything? Have there been any incidents like this in the past?
>>56030810
It would be extremely painful...

what customizations have you made to your computer's user interface? I've modified the twm defaults slightly, opting for thicker borders, and a different color. I'm also drawing shadows with compton--though the primary use of the latter is to avoid screen tearing. Please post a screenshot of you desktop as well!

What is his endgame?
>Facebook is launching ‘Express Wi-Fi,’ a program that will allow customers to purchase low-cost data packages from their local internet service provider to access the fast internet via local hotspots.
What do they have to gain becoming an ISP? Is that the final goal?
>>56030595
>What do they have to gain becoming an ISP?
Money.
>>56030595
>Why would facebook possibly want more information on their customers?
>>56030595
He's trying to become a niche that hasn't been filled yet. No one has been able to sell "unlimited" data through hotspots since clear died in the USA.

Can color laser printers print pictures that are just as good as an inkjet printer?
Nigger, when they came out they had to implement discreet watermarking of prints so people didn't print fake dollaridoos.

My monitors have a HDMI input and speakers, so I can play my PS4 through one of them. However, can I use an audio cable from the monitor to my computer and have the audio instead come through my headphones that are connected to the PC?
Thanks.
>>56030437
You shlould be able to connect headphones to the TV. I don`t think you`re even able to do that as you wish
>>56030437
>Probably dumb question
Then ask it in the stupid questions thread next time: >>56026610
And yes, run it through the mic input, then enable mic playback.

I was asking about using the monitor so I could watch something on the second monitor while I play.

Is being dumb an appropriate excuse for not using that thread?

Think of the money you can earn, and having a future wife that give you a blowjob every morning you go to work programming?
https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2016/08/160809143253.htm
Researchers at the University of California, Riverside have identified a weakness in the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) of all Linux operating systems since late 2012 that enables attackers to hijack users' internet communications completely remotely
Researchers in their mom's basements have found vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows since Windows was created and exploit them in the real world fucking over its users.
GNU "vulnerabilities" are academic finds that are part of the normal debugging of software, fixed in no time flat, and ALMOST NEVER CAUSES ANY REAL WORLD PROBLEMS.
So fuck off, paid MS shill jumping on this shit.
