Linux kernel 4.7 already fixed this. Do your research before trolling next time

Why are there so many rabid Nvidia shills on /g/ all of a sudden?

Because >>>/v/ is leaking like crazy

This is a technology board and AMD is factually behind. Do you expect everyone to sit here all day cherry-picking benchmarks and desperately trying to find any excuse to dismiss anything not extraordinarily AMD-favored as being "biased and unfair"?
I'm not going to deny reality just because the truth makes you uncomfortable.
>>56025441
I am not talking about people who discuss hardware. I am talking about the people who say shit like "I CAN'T WAIT FOR AMD TO GO BANKRUPT SO NVIDIA AND INTEL CAN MAKE BETTER HARDWARE"
Is Emojicode a good language to learn to code?
Someone pls go to a nuclear bomb base and set em all off and kill us all
I remember a time when esoteric programming languages weren't memes.
Whitespace is better
Why don't you go to Goodwill or on Craigslist and eBay, buy used hard drives and run data recovery software on them to find juicy files?
because i have better things to do instead of finding old (and in some cases) corrupt files without any special ingredients
because I have a job unlike you

don't you have anything better to do than try to find naked images of 5/10 milf? Who would actually spend time doing this shit...
Yo dudes, when is Linux 16.10 coming out? I can't wait until the new colonel releases so I can hack like Mr. Robot!!

What does /g/ think of hackathons?
theyre tight as tits tbqh f.am
I love hackathons desu.

hey /g/, I'm making a rutorrent/media server. My desktop is noisy and cluttered, I have high electric bills, etc.
I considered RAID 1 to maintain a backup of my music library while seeding. Would pointless HDD activity significantly shorten my 2nd drive's lifespan?
I'm hunting for elegant setups & tools that would give internet access to my music, while silently seeding/ preserving a backup. Any thoughts?
daily rsync to a separate Raspberry Pi seems like an alternative. it's a healthier backup system. not exactly elegant tho

I looked it up; maybe for a different project
How the fuck do I know what files in my whatsapp media folder are unused? I clean chats every now and then but the media files stay there, i want to clean all this shit and left only the files that I share with my girlfriend.
I googled for it and found nothing, I think I'll have to mess with its sqlite3 database file(msgstore.db) to find the images that are referenced and delete the rest, is there a easier way to do this? I'm not in the mood to figure out how the database works.
>>56025058
Just delete the whole directory and start over.
>>56025058
Just uninstall that shitty app.
why do you give a fuck?
are u dealing with cp or terrorism?
It's over, /v/ won

>puts on headset and loads up the latest cawadoody to call others of a similar social standing a nigger faggot
>cpu detects that he's gaming, enters turbo mode
>5000fps
fucking bill gates
He's right though. The average joe couldn't care less about raw performance, which is why they're all buying pre-builds with celerons and pentiums. You'd normally only want those in an HTPC when combined with a good hardware video decoder. Intel makes billions from the gaymen crowd.

I'm sitting here in my little 30k people town in the middle of Sweden with a 200/100 connection, why is it so hard for kangaroos to make decent internet?
Abos keep chewing through the cables
Infrastructure
If you're Australian and find out why it is the way it is it's an infuriating thing to read. But anyway I'm planning to leave the country within the next several years because I'm too sick of our pathetic infrastructure with no sign of it ever improving.
Hello /g/

Was looking for an Anti virus and checked the /g/ wiki:
https://wiki.installgentoo.com/index.php/List_of_recommended_Windows_software#Antivirus
I downloaded Comodo anti-virus and did a scan and it says its "analyzing" some of my programs in the cloud or something.
Is this actually legit? I feel kind of uncomfortable with it.

Speaking of Reddit, I did some searching and came across something called Tronscript, so I will be using that instead.
Thanks for nothing, /g/!
Wiki seems down for me.
I haven't cleaned my computer for 3 years because I'm afraid to shut down my computer.
good for you
remember that when you have a router there is still a smol computer running for you in it
Last time I shut the computer and started it the power supply fan made a really loud noise for like 3 minutes then just stopped
Now it does that every time I cold start it
#regret
>>56024661
Now I am more afraid to shut down my computer.
I'd like some help, as I don't have much tweaking experience.
I'm trying to see if I can't turn a small strobe light into a regular light. I've taken apart the light to get to its cyber guts. I'm hoping I only have to remove something to get the light to stop flashing.
If you need any other pictures I'm not thinking of, let me know.
>>56024523
Google how a strobe light works and you'll have your answer in a couple seconds.
>>56024538
I did just that. But I'm getting a bunch of old type strobes that use tubes for their lighting. This is an LED strobe light.
>>56024550
Does it use a 555?
I run openSUSE on my desktop, have just set up my old i7 laptop which was smashed to shit, managed to get some new capacitors etc and reroute to an external monitor.
Anyway, Anybody here still using 8.1????? I just removed winshit10 of my mums laptop, what a load of tripe. I installed Xubuntu and set it up for her. Scrncap is of my current i7 MATE setup.
But srs. Why aren't you using Linux or reverting back to 8.1, im thinking about ridding myself of suse. I miss windows, and 8.1 was great IMO.
General rant thread
I'm using 8.1 with classicshell (no not hacked dumb ass) and really just waiting till I learn enough about linux to swap over. I don't quite understand what MATE, GTK, i3 and such are but I'm lazy currently.
>>56024561
MATE and i3 are desktop enviroments.
GTK is involved in the process but is something different, Linux is great to learn, there are plenty of docos online and books to buy, I suggest a hard copy book as it you're more inclined to get involved. Try a few distros in Virtual box. If you're looking to hop the gun go Arch and follow an easy isntall doco and you'll learn quicker, there are plenty of Entry level distros such as the one i'm using on this machine but If you wana learn linux and have actually have to do some work rather than navigate an enviroment designed for children (unity lol) Try OpenSuse or Fedora (though YUM can be a tricky one, especially for a nov) Your best bet would be Debian. read the docos or tinker, debian being the precursor for ubuntu minus the spyware :)
I miss 8.1 with classic shell
>>56024561
Also I might add 'learn enough about linux' shouldn't be your aim, Linux is great because it can be used for a variety of different operations among different systems without necessarily needing any addons, Its designed to be flexible. If you are interested in servers, SSH, peer to peer and networking, focus your studys on that, if you're looking for just basic understanding of the system and some minor script work read up on bash and python, pearl etc and get a basic D.E, im happy to answer any questions
