Okay fags, its my first visit here, i am exclusively shitposting on /fit/ usually.

Since BF1 will come out i want to get a better machine, i thought about ordering pic related, will i do good?

I will use a 500gb SSD from Samsung with a 1TB HDD.

I seriously have no clue what i am doing, just want to be able to play BF1 on high settings..

That is a perfect setup! Msi makes the best hardware! Maybe you need a bit more ram..like 32 gb! That should be enough to "future" proof your machine for all eternity!

Actually, you kinda don't need an i5 to run battlefield 1. It's a pretty low end game, and doesn't require that much graphical fidelity.

Just go with the new and reliable i3 processor! It will even save you money, and you do want that, right? Also, every nvidia card can run battlefield 1 on max settings! So just get a 980 with a whopping 4 GB ram!! Yeah, amazing right??

I've decided to do my master's degree in computers security, and I'm faced with two options:
-Security (Software development)
-Safety (processing various data to accurately report incidents)

Any of you /g/entoman work in this areas?
What's your experience?
I know choosing one won't stop me from working professionally on the other, but I just wanted to hear your stories.

Tldr: gotta choose safety or security for my masters. Wat do?

Ok /g/ I dont come here often but I need some help. Let me explain:

I was recently looking to get something cheap to play CS:GO on my down time without having to lug around a desktop, one of my friends had this old lenovo Y40 - 80 with a broken screen on it, he sold it to me for 30 bucks.

I got the laptop home, wiped the drives and did a clean install of windows 8.1, installed all the updates needed and optional. Then I removed any GPU drivers that windows may have installed in the process of updating and getting the laptop situated ETC...

I did a clean installation of the GPU drivers on lenovo's website for THIS LAPTOP. But for whatever reason it is choosing to use intel's hd 5500 internal GPU. I then tried wiping all INTEL and AMD drivers and only installing the AMD ones. Still didn't work, except now it was using the microsoft basic video adapter drivers.

TL;DR

Check your power saving options, make sure its not bipassing to save power.
Also check bios settings a re prioritising the gpu.
Also try having both drivers installed but disabling the intel.

Tried the bios, there is an option for switchable graphics, and another for memory shared graphics. I tried both and neither worked.

I have also tried having intel and amd drivers installed.

I cannot believe that this shit doesn't work lmao. this is ridiculous
