Thoughts on KDE neon? Is it superior to Kubuntu?
>>56458561
Yes. It's great if you prefer KDE.
>>56458561
It's superior to kubuntu. If I were not using Arch/KDE, KDE neon would be the way to go
>KDE wallet

Welcome to /fglt/ - Friendly GNU/Linux Thread.
Users of all levels are welcome to ask questions about GNU/Linux and share their experiences.
*** Please be civil, notice the "Friendly" in every Friendly GNU/Linux Thread. ***
Before asking for help, please check our list of resources[*].
If you would like to try out GNU/Linux you can do one of the following:
0) Install a GNU/Linux distribution of your choice in a Virtual Machine using VirtualBox or other software made for this puporse for safety purposes.
1) Use the Live ISO (if your distribution of choice has one) to boot directly into the GNU/Linux distribution without installing anything, that way, you can get to experience the GNU/Linux operating system without installing it.
2) Dual boot the GNU/Linux distribution of your choice along with Windows or macOS, this is recommended if you want to know more about the GNU/Linux operating system.
3) Go balls deep and replace everything with GNU/Linux.

I've notice a lot of is isn't OC, just copied over from other credited (sometimes not) sources, and many pages tend to link to "Discussion on Reddit about [...]", etc, on said or related topics. I mean, why would someone edit an ArchWiki page to add a link to Reddit, and why does the link remain? Really discredits the entire wiki when it values "Discussion on Reddit" as a source, and when they tolerate such blatant crossposting in their community.

We're getting closer.
Is it a good/better idea to use your package manager to get browser addons or use the browser itself?
>>56458405
im gonna say use addons.mozilla.org (in firefox's case) because they are updated by the extension developer rather than with distro releases and they are cryptographically signed
can i request you drop the name i see you everywhere
>>56458405
I would say the former makes more sense, considering there might be fixes and features specific to your particular distribution.
The latter is you prefer to make your own changes.
I miss the REAL Jordan.

I am the left except I have no relationships, have never had sex, don't look attractive, and will probably never achieve anything in my life. Ever. All the skills I have suck and I can't use them well. I'm also gay.
So I'm basically not welcome anywhere lol
>>56458245
That picture is unironically true.
Looking for some decent smartphone for around £250. I like clean android.
Is Nexus 5X still a good choice? Amazon sells brand-new sim-free 32GB model for £265
>>56458235
Oukitel k6000 pro
Save your money and get the Nexus 5 or 6, both are still very good
>>56458276
I'm upgrading from nexus 5 that got cut and flooded by a broken bottle of beer in my backpack.

>>56458076
good luck. You'll wait a long time
Is it worth it?
I've amassed a huge music library of hundreds of gb in >256kbit mp3s and flacs but there's an offer for students which costs 5 bucks.
Now I'm wondering if the artist-playlists are worth the 5 bucks.
S-Should I pull the trigger?
>>56457980
Forgot: my main reason would be music discovery since /mu/ is a circlejerking shithole. I imagine it would be less hassle
Don't you have friends that could recommend you stuff?
Spotify has the same functions, and that's free of charge.
>>56458062
Normally I'm the one recommending shit to them.
Spotify's ads are obnoxious and they don't seem to have niche stuff. Afaik Apple Music has pretty much every independent artist
Just replaced a fan in my seven (7) year old Macbook Pro 15" matte screen. How's your older technology working /g/?
I did have to have the whole motherboard replaced once (in warranty) but that was because of the Nvidia GPU. Otherwise, I've only replaced the hard drive and this one fan. Otherwise, this thing has worked brilliantly for the better part of a decade. And that includes running at 90% CPU/GPU very frequently, without overheating.
>>56457939
I have a 2009 17" that still works very well for almost everything.
But, can it runs Crysis?
>>56457939
I have a 6 year old macbook, still werks
