If it would be invented it would be incredibly expensive I presume. So only governments or really big companies would be able to use it. What does the government use computers for? For spying on it's people "to spot terrorists". All current encryption methods would be useless since they would be able to break them in no-time.

Why are Linux desktops like gnome and unity touch screen optimised?
Touch screens haven't taken off and those netbooks with touch screens usually have really hackery buggy Linux support. Why don't they resign their UI to be more PC optimised?

I just recently switched to Linux Mint and I absolutely love it, however the one program that I didn't expect any trouble with was VLC.
It's always been my favorite video player, but after installing it, it seems like the video codec is totally fucked (which is strange because I've always known VLC to be notoriously reliable when it comes to codecs).
Uploaded a webm showing the difference between the default Video player and VLC. Any advice is greatly appreciated. If I really have to, I'll just use the default video player and uninstall VLC, but I'd really rather not if it's a simple fix.

How much of a hassle is it to encrypt your files in 2016? Do you always have to decrypt everything before being able to read it?
If I upload an encrypted video file to cloud drive, is it possible to stream it to my devices? Is there a video player that support decryption like that or I have to download the file to local drive, decrypt before being able to view it?

veracrypt is so easy to use
basically hoe the easiest method works is like this
>Decide how large you want your "folder"(container) to be, and create password for it
>it creates a file
>open veracrypt and mount the file (a bit like a usb) using password
>put shit in and when youre done, unmount
>file is now secured and everything inside it
honestly it is so easy to do, however you cant stream stuff this way.
keep in mind this is one method encryption, and is also a (better) fork of truecrypt which was recommended by snowden until devs left

Not really happy with it since the noise floor is way too high. It did fall from a height two times, though so maybe something got detached inside? Still, wish I had a money for a proper HF transceiver and a place to easly string a dipole on. Southern Europe here, usually can hear up to India and not much more. UZB-76 can be barely heard only at night.
