Anyone else find these so funny? I kind of want to call them up and fuck with them just for the fun of it.
How do you even come across them during normal browsing?

Google’s newPixelphones are ratedIP53for dust and water resistance, the company confirmed to us today. I know the IP53 rating was rumored pre-launch, but now that the phones are official and that rating doesn’t seem to appear on any of the specs lists provided by Google, we just wanted to make sure you knew exactly where the Pixel and Pixel XL stand.
Even the iPhone is more water resistant.
>The iPhone
Every basic phone is IP53. The iPhone7 and S7 at IP68. That's the one everybody wanted of the Pixel

Hey /g/, I'm an undergraduate at a University, and I'm sick of pen and paper notes. Can anyone recommend a good tablet ~$200-300 that I can use specifically for taking notes in various classes?
>>56940760
pen and paper > anything else
>>56940774
For some maybe, but I always find myself restructuring my notes after class, and it'd be easier if I had a digital solution.
>tablet
What is it like being this guy?
>>56940733
Pretty good when there are ass kissers like you around.
>>56940733
I don't envy him.
He works all day, and got financially dominated by some actress that divorced him 3 times.
He's so famous that it's hard for him to find a girl that is not totally shitty.
>>56940784
That's because good people get fucked in the ass by shitty people in this world... This guy is basically a modern day Jesus Christ, and along comes some strumpet and screws it out of a fortune. And he just turns the other cheek.
I admire him. He's got the potential to be our savior.
>Firefox (and by extension Pale Moon) freezes at only 25% CPU utilization on a quad-core CPU
I gave up on FF. Currently using ungoogled-chromium, tiny annoying bugs here and there but the speed man, there's no comparison.
>>56940459
No, it doesn't.

Waterfox running perfectly fine on X5460
I work in a startup filled with iOSfags.
These guys are a full stack dev and a front end, they keep telling that Android is trash because of security reasons.
Android can't be worse than iOS right?
Santa-san isn't real.

It wasn't the jew after all, but the GNU
I will call it linux until I die.
Linux is okay if you are mentioning the kernel. But for an Operating System use the format: Distro_Name GNU/Linux, unless the Distro does not use any GNU utils, libs, tools. Then the format Distro_Name Linux is okay.
The reason to say GNU/Linux is to bring in more people to the GNU project, and this is important for releasing and mantaining the quality of GNU software, the software necessary for building a full operating system.

Why aren't you compressing your images again?
Pic related, image i compressed
as I said, no quality loss
Left pic is compressed, right pic is uncompressed

but to have uploaded this image it would need to be compressed. (You) fucked your argument over right there.

by installing a quad core cpu in my t420
Took the idea from the guy in the last /tpg/ thread, i hope this isn't another meme and everything goes well.
Is Freelance impossible now because of the flood of Indians and Chinese?
I've tried. Not super successful, mostly because I just didn't have the energy or desire to obtain business skill.
Anyway, when I was a Junior in college I made something close to 500$ over 3 months maybe working 25-40 hours total. But the time to find work was far more.
I'm a Senior now and just don't have time to do it.
I imagine a western programmer could be successful if you have the drive to be a jack of all trades (Marketing, business, actual technical skill).

Yes.
Figure out how to design missile guidance systems and/or app-controlled dildos for Android.
You'll be just fine.
Pajeets aren't in those fields yet.

Neither has a landscape keyboard so both worthless shit.

Hello there,
I've been working as a junior front end almost a year now. I've been using Bootstrap/Angular on front and PHP/mySQl rest to create endpoints.
Is there any better way? What would be the best and modern setup for back end? Ruby + Postgres? What's the proper way of creating endpoints for let's just say -> shop ?
>>56939746

Thanks for this well..shit comment, bro.

>Ruby
Ruby has no official documentation. People create their own documentation off of the source code's comments. Let that sink in for a moment.
Which laptops are recommended for linux distros?
I've read optimus and/or laptops with broadcom stuff usually don't go well.
>>56939507
Pretty much any Intel notebook with Atheros LAN/WLAN would be the best.
I have one and tried pretty much every GNU/Linux distro and it works fine, no need to hunt drivers and use non-free alternatives.
>>56939507
You can dual boot with Mac OS X just fine in any Mac.
>>56939565
any laptop of your preference? I'm planning on getting a new laptop and put linux on it, maybe arch. I don't wany anything fancy, just something that can deal with hd videos and maaaaaybe some video editing.
I ordered this and plan on installing Antergos on it. Good idea? There aren't any compatibility issues, right?
what is it?
>antergos
Just install Arch.
>>56939486
ASUS ZenBook Flip UX360CA-DBM2T

I could but since I'm planning on installing Gnome anyway, installing Antergos seems to save me a lot of time
http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2016/10/unity-8-desktop-session-ubuntu-1610
>The latest updates to Ubuntu 16.10 Yakkety Yak add a Unity8 desktop session to the Ubuntu login screen.
>Not that many of you will be surprised to hear that. We mentioned that a Unity 8 session was going to ship as part of the Yakkety release in our list of things to expect in Ubuntu 16.10.
>Added to the Ubuntu meta package, the new Unity 8 desktop session will be available to try on all new installs and upgrades of Ubuntu 16.10, but only as an alternate login session to Unity 7. Unity 8 is not — repeat: not — going to be the default session in this release.
>Shipping it as a preview session is a great idea. It means to try Unity 8 on Ubuntu 16.10 you won’t need to install a set of packages, or faff around with special set-up, or add a PPA.
>When at the Unity Greeter (aka the login screen) just click the session selector button, followed by ‘Unity 8’, and then proceed to log in as normal.
