For €990 you get JUST a motherboard. You need to cough up one thousand one hundred and forty euros to get a functional phone. Yes, €1,140!

It's in serious trouble. But don't despair Anon.

Net neutrality will never impact folks /g/ enough to get around it. No system is perfect, and a system designed to restrict the internet by incompetent governing bodies and ISPs will definitely not be.

If NN dies, the Internet will become a free place for the tech savvy once more. It will be a return of the Good Old Days before the normie invasion.

As an everyday user I don't actually back up my data
Pretty sad considering I have multiple drives full of redundant data in the first place and have filled up all my drives
I need a better storage solution than mixed and matched 3gb/s Sata 3 SSD, couple of 1TB 2.5" laptop drives
Disgusting right?

Hi guys,

need help looking into an image for possible embedded file, could use some help. It might be nothing or it could be something.

When i try to upload it to 4chan it says it contains an embedded file. Photoshop wont open it as it cannot parse it, and fotoforensics says its not a png.

Help?

Now that more than half the population have a Oculus Rift or another VR device at home and we get most of our entertainment/news/social interaction via them can we all agree on how stupid were the naysayers for denouncing it as a passing hipster fab?

It is simply not a widely marketable product yet

Why would you call it a hipster fab? There isn't even widespread cultural appraisal surrounding the technology yet, there was more cultural integration for the average family home with the Wii console
You're an idiot

Why won't Firefox and the other non-Chromium browsers support WebP? They have no problem with WebM. The web needs a lossy image format with transparency and animation (WebP supports both lossless and lossy compression, as well as animation with millions of colours unlike GIF).

Because they're shit. Another thing firefox doesn't support is fast performance.

These tests were done on a Skylake Xeon, 16GB of RAM and a PCI-Express SSD. e10s enabled and dom.ipc.processCount set to 50. Now tell me Firefox isn't slow:

I'm in a tech hub city where there are lots of startups . These startups host regular meetups and have open house and are on hiring binges.

How do I land a job at one of these companies? I have a pure math degree, but started taking fundamental Computer Sciences courses as a student at a nearby (but prestigious) university and am doing very well in my CS courses.

I have plans to get an advanced degree in CS (just for my sake not for job market), but in the meantime I want to start working.

It seems like all these startups only want senior engineers. I'm one of the top students in my CS courses, but I wouldn't say that means I'm anywhere near being a "great" software engineer as I'm still new and have several additional courses I need to take to round out the CS core.

I'm looking for junior dev positions but have no idea where to look. All the startup interview processes weed out newbies. I program in Java/Python but most of these companies are looking for senior techies in Swift, AngularJS, D3, Clojure, NoSQL knowledge, etc.

There doesn't seem to be a market for junior devs anywhere I look.

Startups need someone to build a strong foundation. Newbies cant do that. Therefore startups dont hire newbies. You need a company that wouldn't lose much cause of your mistakes
>>
>>57471138
Look on https://angel.co/

I know you said pure math, but how good are you with probability and statistics? Cause if you're good (and even if you aren't an expert, due to your math background, it shouldn't be too hard to get good enough at it to stand out from all the CS kids who took a single hand-wavy undergraduate ML course), you could leverage that into Data Science or some other ML-related job. There are lots of startups looking for people like that. I don't know if you've considered it an option.

Especially since you program in Python, if you get familiar with numpy, pandas, and scipy (and maybe scikit-learn as well), it would look pretty good.

Is there a way to get youtube videos with view source? On Chrome.

I can get videos this way from other sites, but not from youtube. I want the source video (ie: max resolution available for that video) without having to use a downloader if it can be done.

I need a hint, or recommend me one that you trust and has max quality enabled without premium.

The following have been used and discarded:

Dvdvideosoft (went freemium and locks the quality at 720p)
Youtube Downloader 5.1 (kept duplicating the explorer.exe endlessly)

Alright /g/, I want to get a little portable computer with long battery life that I can take around with me to shoot the shit with instead of lugging around my larger 15.6" powerhouse.

I've settled on the Dell Inspiron 11 3000 series. I'm torn bewteen 2 models, though. The N3170 or the M3-7Y30. The hard part is that the N3170 model can be upgraded to 8GB of RAM, and the M3 is stuck at 4GB. For either, I'd replace the hard drive with an ssd.

So, chime in. Which is better?

isn't the m3 going to be a wee bit faster? Similar clockspeeds and same amount of threads but m3 is newer. Or at the very least negligible and use less power? I can't imagine what you'd be doing with either processor that 4gb of ram would be the bottleneck.

So how bad is it to not use a case? I havent used in years and so far nothing bad has happened. Its just a bit loud.
Are there any downsides to this? Should I get a case as fast as possible?
11 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
Yeah, by not using a case it looks like you live in a shithole trailer
>>
Its bit lower but temps should be room temp stable.
>>
>>57471061
if you're so fucking poor you can't spare $50 on proper case, then i guess you can live without it

cons:
>shit gets dusty with time, dustier than inside of proper filtered case
>everything is exposed and you can spill your water or whatever poor people drink on it
>loudness
>if you'd have seriously high TDP parts near each other, you would have worse airflow than in case, resulting in thermal throttling
>you can't participate in cool guts thread on /g/
>i mean you can, but you can't be as cool as $99999 water cooled custom loop with hand-made pipes and connections
>come on, it's $50

CCNA guide books. Then do lots of labs on packet trackers. Really learn subnetting.

Focus on the first half of the cert, then focus on the last half. I think it's easier a newbie to get the CCNA that way.
