So Tell me /g/ whats the best crypto software for windows at the moment,
I have a CPU with AES extensions, I'd use Linux by half the shit my laptop has isn't supported yet,
>>57477165
N/A
True Crypt 7.1a ;)
am i doing it right?
>>57477108
looks good
>>57477108
is this for LN2 or something?
>>57477171
no its for extra coolant
How do I pirate windows 10 successfully with full office?
I'm trying to sell my Thinkpad
>>57477004
thinkpad has ubuntu btw
>>57477004
>Thinkpad
Is it a brand new or older one? Probably anyone wanting a Thinkpad is a /g/tard, that was my experience when I had to sell one anyway. I was going to pirate Windows and put it back on there for the buyer but he just said forget it I'm installing gentoo
>>57477020
It's an older one.
I was hoping so, but this guy explicitly stated he needs win10..
A friend of mine is offering me his old rig:
MSI:n MS-7750
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.5GHz 8G
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
No hard drives included.
He's asking 550€ (506$). Worth it?
>>57476928
Tell him to suck a dick and kill him self
>>57477116
>8 CPUS
Bro, it's 8 threads, 4 cores all to make 1 CPU
>>57476928
I'm going to say maybe
~$300 CPU and a ~$200 GPU
as long as he didn't torture them its probably a good buy
Sorry to make a tech support thread but I've seen this problem happen on at least half a dozen computers now and I can never fix it. It's always Windows 7 for some reason. What happens is that the amount of usable RAM is less than the amount actually available. This is just an example image from this current PC, i've seen 4GB RAM installed with 1.2GB usable on others.
Any ideas what causes this and how to fix it? Google gives useless suggestions.
Some points:
>It isn't because of a 32-bit version of Windows. It happens on 64-bit Windows (see the pic).
>It isn't because of the startup option to limit RAM that you can edit in msconfig
>It isn't because of some setting in the BIOS
>It isn't because of an outdated BIOS (I just flashed it to the latest and the same thing happens)
install gentoo
>>57476842
in your case probably shared memory for the Intel GMA. check in display adaptor properties and it should say
insert vidiyacard and try again
>window 7
>windows update stopped working a year ago
>it's always stuck at checking for updates
>try every single guide on the internet of how to fix that piece of shit
>nothing works
>ubuntu
>sudo apt-get update
>it just works
>>57476632
just install win 10 like a good goy
>>57476632
>Windows 7 updates are absolute dogshite, barely work, and sometimes never succeed.
Imagine how many gigawatts of energy have been dumped into PCs running leaking update processes, blasting core 0, and not even hooked up to the internet.
>Windows 8
Why update?
Why even install this shit?
>Windows "rolling release" 10
Enjoy your mandatory updates. You have 15 minutes.
Ah, I see you're back.
Mind the increased boot time, we're rehashing the entire contents of your HDD.
Broke something? Too bad.
Glad I switched to Debian.
>>57476632
There's literally no reason to use Ubuntu as your first distro now that Solus exists.
What is the most useless thing you ever bought?
my god it looks so fucking bad
tablet
around 2007 I jokingly told my grandma about cd rewinders and she actually got one
>tfw uncle pissed at me
>kind of feel bad but was funny at the same time
they sent it back, though
I want to start mining bitcoin but I'm not sure if it'll be worth it. Should I mine solo or in a pool? And I'll be getting 7-8 ant miner s7's cost is around $600. Would it be worth it?
Also it'd be around 8000 gigahash a second.
totally worth it! you'll be raking in cash in no time!
How likely is it that op will spend more money in electricity than he will make?
Bought a new hard drive (Hitachi UltraStar 7K3000) from Amazon to use as a backup drive. It works, but from day one it makes this god awful intermittent clicking noise when it's running. Video related is an example of the clicking:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ASw_BW3zN4
Is this normal, or is it fucked from the get go?
Bought it from https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005QTSDDQ/
lol say byebye. these second hand drives are hit and miss. got a couple 2tb ones that still work....guess i got lucky
>>57476283
What would you recommend as a replacement? It's a backup drive that will only be ran when it's plugged in weekly to backup everything.
my seagate has been clicking like that for exactly 10 years, just lower pitched.
whenever it goes to the "bad click" i just shake it (not kidding) for 30 seconds and then it works fine for another year
been doing this for 7 years
Still on that lame-o Windows machine?
Linux has dozens of distributions with even more each day. It's customizable, hackable, programmable, and blazin fast with SYSTEMD processing.
Always remember, kiddies:
Linux does... what Windon't.
poor attempt anon

Changing operating systems wont stop nvidia drivers from being shit.
Like seriously why the fuck do all their latest drivers suck so much dick? I get one driver crash message every session. I'm gonna have to revert to some older shit.
THANK YOU BASED NVIDIA
Are the newest drivers still botnet?

Interesting idea, but not consumer worthy yet.
What's the latest and most powerful graphics card with DVI-I for my CRT monitor?
Current GTX680 is dying.
Fucking any card with a DVI port
I've never seen a card that didn't support DVI-I with it's DVI port
The only DVI spec where I didn't always see support was dual link, and that was back in the early 2000s even.
just get a proper monitor, grandpa. no point in buying an ancient gpu now.
>>57476634
No new card has DVI-I.
Best noise-cancelling headphones that don't sound like garbage?
>>57475519
If you are looking for noise canceling headphones, only go bose and high isolation iems
There is no better ANC than what bose has
>>57475519
do they have to cancel noise? because some closed headphones with proper earpads are isolating really, really well.
i heard some older bose noise-cancelling model, don't know which one was that, and i'm willing to say my Brainwavz HM5 were isolating just as well, if not better.
>>57475519
zzzzzzzzzz.....
Help me decide, /g/, I don't know if I should get the Axon 7 or the LG G5.
This is how I see it:
Axon 7:
Bigger screen
AMOLED
LG G5:
Removable battery, big plus
Roughly the same price
Better camera, with wide angle
Which has better software? Switching from iPhone, so I don't know that much about how important software is and whether either can be unlocked
>>57475263
Obviously htc has better software than chink shit.
>>57475278
>chink shit
Htc from Taiwan
LG from Korea
>>57475278
Are there any decent HTC phones in that price range with an SD slot and a SD820?
