So I've always been fascinated by all the boxes and shit that sit around outside doing apparently nothing. I know the cable and utilities companies run around and dick with them, but since I haven't the slightest grasp on the terminology relating to them I can't find any literature to describe their form or function. I was hoping /g/ could help me explore the fundamentals of these contraptions and others.
picture (maybe?) related
Bump. Also interested.
I found some /g/uts, this looks incredibly convoluted.
Why is windows 10 bad?
>telemetry
>it's unstable
>it's ugly
>it's a clusterfuck
>it's designed and programmed by indians
tl;dr it's shit
>>57473059
>>telemetry
the botnet meme?
>>it's unstable
Never crashed for me
>>it's ugly
I like the futuristic blocky look
>>it's a clusterfuck
what does this mean?
>>it's designed and programmed by indians
source?
>>57473088
it's not a meme when they are datamining you and selling the data to advertisers and governments
Does /g/ still like technology, or is this just about what computer parts and software you have?
Lets watch a rocket launch.

Anyone?
I don't like anything anymore
fuck YES im watching this
Why are BSD alternatives always worse than their GPL counterparts?
>>57472785
community and corporate support is tiny in comparison
glad to know that you think screen is better than tmux
because GPL rats always steal free BSD code and make it nonfree
>graduated from community college 2years ago
>at job that isn't teaching me a whole lot with mediocre at best pay
>stagnating feeling starting to settle in
>would like to eventually get into systems or network admin work
How do I get back on track?
>>57472506
What is your current job? What was your CC degree?
>>57472511
It was a 3 year program that was basically a bit of everything. Networking, programming, security, databases. My current job is a mix of help desk and junior admin work
>>57472506
At least you have a job
I've been unemployed for 2 years, failed every interview and have practically no skills
Why havent I killed myself yet?
This actually runs at over 100 fps with 8x AA and highest detail on my FX 8320 with a GTX 660.
What the fuck is wrong with the industry when hobby hackers can do it?

Because for the industry: it works on my machine :^)
But I don't find this demo impressive at all
>>57472493
Pretty budgie.
Here is mine. Doesn't really want to stand still for a photo...lol
Is that a real photo?
What is your opinion? Do you have one? It's a good technology for home or just a elitist meme because TVs are better?
projectors are better
Pro tip: Buy projectors from Alibaba. They are ridiculously cheap.
>>57472555
Are they decent?
>Be running GTX 285
>Finally decide to upgrade
>Get 7970 (aka R9 280x)
>PC runs quieter
>PC runs cooler
I played Assassins Creed Black Flag last night, and my room barely warmed up! My PC is no longer a good heater
>>57472438
But the 7970 uses more power
>>57472502
It seems to run a hell of a lot cooler than the GTX ever did. I'd find my room very toasty after a session with that.
This one, it's just not having the same impact!
>gaming
I exclusively only listen to FLAC audio.
Does anyone else do this? What's the point using MP3's anymore?
Storage has advanced to the point where price is no longer a problem.
>>57472410
yes very nice, I hope you're using real speakers
>>57472410
enjoy your placebo
>Not just ripping music from Youtube like everyone else
Reminder that without this you would not be able to shitpost on 4chin right now.
>>57472336
Theoretically speaking, no one gives a fuck about f-14's

Sup,
I know this isn´t a tech service board, but after spending hours on google I dont know what to do anymore
>be me
>boot up my system
>error.jpg shows up
>bluescreen
>pc restarts
>everything is back to normal
>pc does not crash even under heavy load
>just when it is booted up
>what do
At least try some other os like lunix in order to find if it is a hardware problem. At worst case scenario backup your data and format.
>>57472326
install gentoo
>>57472355
I might add that when I pulled out my wlan stick (AVM shit or something) the screen turned red and it was like a "red screen"
Are 1440p and/or 144hz monitors just a meme ?
>tfw 27' 1440p monitors starts from around $600 in my country
>24' 1080p 144Hz monitors cost around $400 and 27' 1440p 144Hz goes above $1000
Why not just get 3 24' 1080p IPS monitors ? I'm thinking of getting LG 24MP88 (pic related)
Anyone here have good experience with multi-monitor ? How practical is the 3 monitor setup ? Not too much concerned about playing vidya on 3 monitors, it's more about programming and game development.
>>57472203
No, they are not a meme.
No, buy a Pixio "huge bezels" PX277.
your mother is a meme
How does this make /g/ feel
Does it really make you think?
Who downloads Netflix? Just stream it.

NORMIES GET OUT
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Post obsolete and pointless technology that you still want for some reason. Pic related.
The iphone 7... It's obsolete because you can't connect it to the new apple netbook without lots of dongles.
Step up to my level of hell:
All of my TVs are still tubes w/no Net interface;
Desktop is XP Pro Sp3;
Still using VHS VCRs;
It's like i'm stranded on a planet of gravel
> ST: VOY The Year of Hell
This small green triangle was wedged in the edge of my new Galaxy s7 edge beneath the glass of the screen. What could it be? I have to get it out with a tiny razor blade because of where it was. Part of it was sticking out. Would this compromise the glue seal around the edges, or are they much thicker than the dimensions of this thing? Where could it possibly have come from?
looks like a piece of glass perhaps an error in whatever chink factory they make them or a piece from the display broke off
>>57471894
>he removed the nfc transceiver
>>57471894
That's a bug. Trash the phone, it's compromised and you're being spied on
