Linux (and basically any other OS) way is keep UTC in BIOS and apply timezone in OS.
Windows way is "LOL fuck you, setting system time to local time, I ain't gonna apply shit"!

I agree, doing assembly on a paper doesn't make a damn difference, and once you figure out the ISA's intended calling convention, programming in assembly is pretty easy, just treat it like any other sequential programming language.
I wish they taught concepts like what assembly is or the basics of how a processor works in earlier computer science classes.
