Should I just give 200 bucks to a friend to buy me one? 20p dollars for a gtx 1070 is a good deal
Also, they're gonna be selling SSDs for the cheap

When will we see actual innovation?
Previous thread: >>57544640
What are you working on, /g/?
Give me an example grammar from a known programming language that can't be parsed by a recursive descent parser.
Just curious.
>>57551734
The entire grammar of the C++ programming language.
>>57551734
Oh and by "known language" I mean a typical programming language you'd find today.
>>57551756
Example? I'm pretty sure most of it can, unless you're just memeing on about the most vexing parse which doesn't count.
Fuck, I just broke off two blades on my gtx 660 fan. How bad is this? Is it possible to replace them?
Yeah just carefully hot glue it, or buy a new fan if you want
>>57551639
break off the blades on the opposite side to balance the fan and you should be okay
Just get a new fan and attach it to the card using elastic bands or whatever.
Unplug the old fan though. One problem: The graphics card might have safety features stopping it from working properly when the fan is unplugged.
>Hey anon
>My laptop is old and slow, I want to buy a new one
>My passion is film making
>Since you are so good with computers what should I buy?
>I want something to allow me to easy edit my videos
>It must be easy to use and the results should be professional looking
In this scenario what would /g/ recommend?
Yes, Linux is better for programming and computer science, Windows is better for games, but can we just admit Mac's (although overpriced) are better for easy and professional-looking video editing?
Am I wrong?
Is there a combination of software in Linux that is as easy to use and the results look as good as iMovie?
>>57551629
You wrong. I like adobe premiere + after effects more than final cut. So windows is great for video editing for me and i can play games too
Mac and Windows are good for video editing.
For Linux I use Blender.
It doesn't really matter what system or even the camera, a professional looking film will depend MUCH MORE on you and your team's (camera crew, actors, etc.) abilities.
>>57551667
>adobe premiere + after effects
Isn't this very expensive?
Doesn't it need a subscription?
iMovie is free with every Mac so I think in the long term it would be cheaper than premiere + after effects.
And even if the cost was the same, isn't iMovie just easier to use?
And faster too, especially not that 4K is becoming the norm, since it is optimized to work with Mac hardware?
Do you run your browser in a sandbox? Is it recommendable?
Yes, as long as it's open source.
I don't.
>>57551620
Just out of interest, if you're not doing any webdev, what's the point of running a browser inside a browser?
Didn't have internet for 3 months, was moving.
What did I miss, /g/ ?
You missed this new distro which is really awesome and I really really recommend you to install it. It's fast, stable and secure out-of-the-box. No more retarded manual installation, no more constantly having to fix your config files, no more compiling from source. Solus - it just werks!

>>57551588
What advantage does it have over an already installed Arch?
>>57551573
Linux and free software are dead. Microsoft cucked up. Apple releases The Onion articles and you're a fag.

Why isn't 16:10 more common on laptops? Do any laptops other than Macbooks use it? Who decided that 16:9 should be standard on laptops that are already cramped for screen real estate to begin with?

Sorry for my Bad english
Me and my friend(Python,Swift and Java developers) want start to developer videogames.
Any recomendation? Which platform? Which language?
You could try learning the Unity engine, start out small and make mobile games that don't take a lot of time to develop so you can start earning some money sooner then later. Once you know the engine well enough and have bigger ambitions perhaps you could make a PC game.

Alright /g/, here's the deal. I've got a client who gave me a hard drive to get some pictures off of. I plugged it in to my PC with a USB to SATA and in autoplay the only thing that shows is a Disk Image with the drive name, and it won't boot. It goes to the "Windows Millenium" screen then kicks me right back in to my original boot cycle. What do?
>>57551428
Boot into a gnu/linux distribution and mount the drive from there
>>57551428
>using USB to SATA
>booting from it
Thats where you went wrong, you dont need to boot from it....
Why are you booting from it, instead of opening the drive in your owN OS's file manager?
