why aren't you running your own search engine and abandon google/yahoo/bing/startpage/duckduckgo/altavista/ask/lycos/etc?
how can qwant be better when it's just another company driven search engine that you have to trust isn't snooping on you. qwant is owned by a axel springe, one of the biggest media companies in europe and qwant makes millions, how does it accomplish to make millions with a employment size less than 50.
you fell for the "we are not selling your data"-meme fed.
also brave is garbage
Years ago, when compiz and beryl were the shit, I was fucking around with them, I found some commands that let me encode the framebuffer of compiz and then use a pipe to set it as the desktop background. It was literally the coolest effect ever, it turned my desktop background into an infinity mirror. Does anyone know how I can do this in today's composited environment?
Is this guy fucking worth a while? I've started reading his book guide for software developer career, but it seem like an never ending news letter. Lot's of words, but no substance. What's your thought on him?
he was briefly good when he started out and dealt with life issues, but now he tries to combine programming with motivation issues and so his entire catalog of videos is bullshit "I dont feel good enough to program" videos where he gives his bullshit obvious answer: "sure you can do it, hang in there, just do what you want in life" advice. I cant believe anyone still watches his channel, I cant believe he made it 100k subscribers
Is it true there's NOTHING Linux can do better than Windows? Because a computer repairman told me there wasn't!
These any good?
Can anybody give me information about this watch my grandmother gave me? She told me it was my great great grandfather's
What did they mean by this?
ITT: we show our appreciation for google.
God bless Google
Don't you just love how comfy Google Chrome is.
Greeting's anon, I was wondering.
>what is the process to detect malware?
>and how to eliminate malware?
If Windows 10 is so good, how come Linux tripled its desktop market share in the past two years?

I would like to upgrade my Asus X552CL laptop with some more memory. Right now I have a 500 GB WD5000LPVX-80V0TT0 HDD. What would be the best choice for me? I would be fine with 2TB (also not to spend too much). Are SSHD a meme or it's a good idea to get one?
Also, do they suffer a lot more from random power outages if compared to HDD like I did read some time ago the SSD do?
I have a double booting machine with Windows 8.1 and Ubuntu 16.04 on it, and I would be interested in using an hybrid disk mainly for gayming and graphic rendering-related work (ArchiCad, Cinema 4d, Artlantis etc.).
My laptop came with one.
I only suspend to ram and might keep a session for weeks or over a month...because linux.
The stupid state hard disk caching algorithm, doesn't catch any valid, in terms of frequency, software. Startup is never faster because it happens once or twice a month. It has more power consumption than an ssd. I don't need more than 256gb coz the porn is on the desktop. In the end you don't even get the benefits of a ssd, you get slightly better hdd performance... Used the sshd in a case as an external usb hard drive...got a samsung 840 pro 256gb.
3 years later, the ssd works flawlessly, the sshd died 1.5 year ago.
What if 4K is a conspiracy by GPU vendors to keep their top SKUs relevant? 1440p was skipped over despite being the superior value resolution.
>1440p was skipped over despite being the superior value resolution
problem is resolution scaling of interfaces. 1440p screens are larger than most 4Ks and hence more expensive. 4K displays are easier to scale UIs for (you just double all dimensions).
Sorry for the shitty question and thread but I have a really bad motherboard that supports up to 95W CPUs and a fx-8370e, if I OC the CPU to "max turbo" which is 4.3GHz(from 3.3) will it require more than the TDP which is 95W? If so, would the higher amount of watts be enough to damage the motherboard?
Yes i know it's shit but I'm trying to do anything besides drop stacks on a brand new headset because I kinda just bought this one.
I've done everything various support forums have suggested (updating firmware), removing the fuzz, restarting comp, using the sub dongle remote, I'm not muted on the controller, but i have to readjust my mic volume every time, and I'm either way too fuckign loud or barely audible.
So I was wondering what you guys did to mitigate this problem, because I'm sure someone besides me went through this, or what kind of software I can use to just use as a microphone volume controller and tester.
This is now Puzzle & Dragons thread
Post your best girl.
I have a GTX 980 strix, i plan on getting a new GPU do i sell the 980 asap?
Old nvidia cards haven't been effected by the gpu price hike. You can still get a used gtx 980ti for 250 bucks. If you do sell it you can still make a nice 200-220 bucks since you don't have a reference card
