spline36/jinc with superres looks very similar to NGU. If you compare them side by side, you can notice some additional, made up, oil painted details in a pic upscaled with NGU, but they are hard to notice from the distance anyway.

You need a few libraries and dlls dropped into your mpv folder.

Some encryption types have been cracked and you can install some program I forget the name of to keep all that shit up to date. There's another set of keys for a different type of encryption that have to be installed differently.

NGU breaks completely with low bitrate sources, even nnedi3 with 16 neurons looks better than NGU very high in those videos.
NGU is only good for high bitrate low resolution sources, like a DVD 720x480, which at this point you might as well just download the 1080p source.

You can do a lot of things with vapoursynth, but in most cases I think you'd be better off with a shader.
I have a script for deinterlacing, because yadif is fucking ugly.

I want to do a media set up for linux, but my gf doesn't want to go to mpv because she thinks it will render and handle subs like shitty VLC.(She thinks MPC is the only option for quality)
