Anyone here ever had Lyme Disease?
I had it about a year ago. Had intense fevers, but managed to get on Doxycycline within a week and the symptoms went away.
I know the chronic lyme thing is largely bullshit and hysteria, but my overall energy levels are definitely lower than before I had Lyme. Every couple of weeks I will just have no energy, barely be able to go to work, let alone work out. Also my right eye lid droops now, which I definitely did not have before the Lyme.
Is it possible that my antiobiotic regimen didn't fully wipe out the Lyme? I only did 3 weeks, which apparently is somewhat short for Lyme treatment.
I've heard theories that the chronic fatigue is caused by fucked up gut bacteria from the antibiotic, but I haven't been able to find definitive research on that.
Any of you guys deal with this shit? its affecting muh gainz man.
>>35215130
Shouldn't of been fucking the natives, that'll teach you.
>>35215130
Doxycycline is used for a lot of different infections but it's only with lyme disease that you get the chronic fatigue. It's not the antibiotics. This is the long term damage from the disease, and your body will need time to repair itself. It might take years depending on your infection. Good news is the infection is no longer there, bad news are your body was used as a battle field for the little bastards long enough to do damage.

this, my brother had it and it took a month for him to be able to move her fingers normally again.
So I've read high school biology like everyone else and learned about how insulin regulates blood sugar levels. I know about that diabetes fucks up how your insulin works. Apart from that, I don't know much.
How does insulin affect my training? Insulin seems to be anabolic to its nature, does that mean I can stuff my face with sugars during the entirety of the bulking season? Is insulin = gains? Help me out bros.
Insulin general

Are you diabetic

Why are push-ups so disproportionately difficult for me? I'm new to fit and am just starting to do some basic exercise regularly. I do alright with squats and crunches, but I can only ever do about 8-10 decent push ups before my arms quit on me.
I wouldn't say I'm ridiculously fat but I am a bit over weight, something like 245 lbs at 6'5". Could this be a poor form thing? What sort of exercises should I be doing to try and improve my arm strength?
What's your bench?
Look up forms, bro.
I struggled too when before I joined the army, the recruiter had me doing it from my knees because I was overweight.
What really helped my technique was to go really slow, have my arms parallel to the surface, back straight, and try to achieve 90 degree bend.
Slowly go up and down till you feel comfortable or keep going till failure
Try this program, it helped me to get from 20~ to 45~
Does anyone eat bugs for more gains?
Experiences?
I'm being serious.
Bumping for curiosity.
Yeah I heard something about grasshoppers having around 5x more complete protein than beef or chicken.
Too bad it's kinda gross
Not gross at all. I honestly don't know why bug farms haven't popped up all over the world tbqh. You don't get accumulation of toxic chemicals with farm-raised bugs and there are none of the complications that arise from industries like factory fish farms.
I had a friend who tried to start a bug for food business back in the mid '00s and it crashed and burned. Not even third worlders were interested. There will come a time when it becomes socially acceptable and I hope I can cash in.
Can I do Starting Strength workouts 5-6 days a week instead of 3 non consecutive days?
Will it be harmful at all?
I just feel like I can do a lot more than just 3 days.
Wait till the weights get high. You'll need rest days
>>35214823
Once weights get heavy you won't be able to do it on consecutive days.
Just get past mediocre weight and you'll know what i mean.
>>35214823
No don't you will stall fast as fuck.Do the program do you know more than Mark rippetoe? If so why are you doing a novice routine?
Brehs, it has started already and its not even 1st of January yet...

My gym is crawling with them
>>35215016
Mine too, I can't stand the crowds and waiting for the weights so I started going early. Last week I had some shit to do so I went after work around 6. Never again.
Noob question, when do most people quit?
>>35215184
After week 1
How tall are you? And what's your favourite lift, /fit/?
I'm collecting data and seeing if there are any correlations I can see.
Thanks
Ignore the pic BTW

does it matter how i get my calories ?
i had a real hunger for croissants today so i ate 7 of them for dinner. 420 gram of butter, sugar and salt. equaling 2000 cals.
it was really easy to down them even though i normally have a hard time getting to 3k cals a day.
is it okay to use these kinds of foods? instead of rice and pasta?
i think i could easily get to 5k cals on this stuff even though 3k with rice is impossible for me.
If it's fits your macros, it's ok, if not, then not ok.
>>35214655
Absolutely disgusting. Please kill yourself.
>>35214655
Bro.
You almost ate FOUR STICKS OF FUCKING BUTTER FOR DINNER.
is SL 5x5 a meme?
It's a ripoff of ss. Just do ss and power cleans
>>35214622
Replace squat on B days with power cleans.
>>35214622
I think SL is better than SS for a few reasons.
Mainly increased volume and better information on the website.
How do you guys look without good lighting? Be honest.
>>35214244
bump
like shit
>>35214244
Like a fat piece of shit
working on it though.
How does the pushing difficulty scales for example while bench pressing? Everybody will admit that 1 plate is easy weight but 2 plates is impressive. I weight 145 and im benching 185. There's this dude who weights 205, he is pretty big but he's struggling with 225 on flat. Does it mean im relatively stronger than him or 2planet bench is something more than just a number and requires special powers? There is literally no one at my gym who benches 225 for reps as his working set and there is a bunch of big guys.
Fuck relative strength, there's only strength. And I'm not sure what kind of gym you go to but everyone reps 2pl8 at mine, and its a normy gym.
> tfw 2pl8 is the standard for actually having lifted in your life, not impressive
nobody cares about relative strength unless you're actually strong as fuck at a very light weight
if you ever even mention about relative strength at your stats people just think you're a faggot trying to justify your shit lifts
>>35214152
Contrary to what /fit/ trolls will say, benching 2 plate for reps is strong. You aren't gonna be blown away but you aren't gonna consider them a slough. Most men will never achieve a 2 plate bench in their lifetime.
Ayyy
If I wanted Ayy I'd ask what your one rep max are.
