I wanna start getting my dad to go to the gym with me and to try preworkout, but the thing is he's diabetic. So my question is, is it bad for him to take preworkout every now and then if he's diabetic and used to have seizures as well, so I'm wondering if it would be bad for him to take it or not every now and then. Any diabetics take preworkout?

Most of them contain high amounts of sugars and stimulants, not ideal for a 50ish year old man in any way, shape or form.

I'm 5'8 125 lbs, run 40 miles a week and lift 4 times a week, but I try to limit my calories (currently on a slow cut) to stay lean.

muscles just looks try hard on small men. You know when you see a really small man step out of a giant truck? That's what manlets with muscles look like, overcompensating, doesn't fit.

A tall guy with muscles looks natural, it's expected.

Now a small man with glasses and a briefcase, that looks okay. He can be an accountant or something

/fit/izens and military anons, I'm a civilian who has been accepted to Air Force Officer Training School and should ship in either January or March. I've just started training more intensely, what can I do to improve each category?

In a week I've gone from less than two laps around the track and running out of steam, to a 10:10 minute mile, to 9:49, to 9:18 today. It feels like I'm making progress quickly, and as long as I keep running daily I should have no problem getting up to 6 laps. 13:36 is the minimum time for the 1.5 mile.

This is fine already. I'm 6'1", about 180 pounds with a 34 inch circumference.

I think I'm fine here too, but what is a good way to improve how many pushups you can do?

There are people.
Right this very moment on /fit/ that unironically don't do farmers walks.
There are people that either neglect their forearms or do wrist curls.

Farmers walks changed my life and literally became my favorite exercise after the first time I did them.

You need thick forearms to balance heavy loads.
This helps with bench and OHP.
It's also helped develope my calves and blow up my deadlift.

This workout is magic and I bet there are people that will talk shit about this glorious lift.

Hey guys,

I recently started training because im fat (20 years old 112kg/247lbs 176cm/5'9) and want to get /fit/.

For the last 3 weeks ive been going to the gym everyday, doing random shit (no program).

This week i've started a lifting program (Jason Blaha's Ice Cream Fitness 5x5 Novice Program) and started wachting my diet.

My schedule looks like this:
Monday: lifting
Tuesday: 80 min crosstrainer
Wednesday: lifting
Thursday: 80 min crosstrainer
Friday: lifting
Saturday: 80 min crosstrainer
Sunday: 80 min crosstrainer

On the crosstrainer i choose the fat burning option and try to keep my bpm around 130.

As for my diet i calculated that i burn around 3000 calories a day and try to keep my intake to 2000 calories.

Supplements i take are: Vitamin D3 and Omega-3 (im considering protein shakes but im not sure if i need it)

Is there anything that im doing wrong or could do better?

Yes, you're actually doing a lot wrong. Only work out 5 or 6 times a day. And I'm assuming you're eating ice cream with this workout, just don't dude. If you have to convince yourself it's healthy to eat ice cream while working out you're doing something wrong. Sure, have some on the weekends but that's about it. With all that cardio you won't see much muscle gains, I would recommend going to the gym 5 times a week and doing a hypertrophy work out instead and just reduce overall calorie intake. Try cutting out all drunken calories, beer, soda, coffee, etc and most breads. I'm not saying do keto, but bread in general has a lot of carbs. Protein helps a lot, you should get one with a thermogenesic.

Hey /fit/, I started working out in the summer starting at 186lb's and am currently 175lbs and want to drop to 165-160. However, I can't seem to burn this belly fat that has been sitting on my midsection. Here is my workout regime and diet.

>Diet consists of 1400-1500kcal a day. To maintain current weight my body requires 1.9kcal. I eat turkey, pork, chicken, and the occasional rice with steam vegetables. I also eat salads and fruits everyday.

>3x6,4,2 of bench, cleans, Squats deadlifts at 90-100% of max percentage.
>Super sets in between of dumbbells, pullups, and anything that is upperbody or lower body depending on leg day, upperbody, shoulders etc.
>Also run everyday for 30 minutes on the treadmill at 6.7 speed currently which takes me 3.3mi each time.
I do cheat with cookies though. Goddamn cookies.

What can I do to keep burning this visceral belly fat.
