There's actually something specifically for this, it was posted here before and there was a reddit thread about it, plus a thread on bodubuilding.com about it. I forgot what it's called, but so long as your growth plates aren't closed, you can grow a good couple inches in a year.
At your age, they're definitely still open, but you'd need an x-ray to be sure.

My knee, currently, is still not fully healed. But now all I have to do is a somewhat lengthy warmup and I can begin ripping through 315 squat like its nothing again.
So grab some heating pads, stretch. Then go to low intensity activities with your knee.

By the way, when I started doing rehab I was seeing almost immediate results in knee strength. I felt like such a fool for thinking I could just sit and wait it out. I injured my knee mid july and it took me until the beginning of november before I actually tried rehabbing. I would just do deadlifts to replace my squats but it wasn't getting any better until I actually paid attention to my knee.
