Hey /fit/
Don't know if I've ever posted on here before.. maybe.
Anyway, I've read the sticky, as well as everything else about gaining weight.
Quick background
>20 years old, 6'0" 165 lbs, in college
>Was 140 lbs a year and a half ago
>Was college cross country runner for a year, quit because zero gains
>Started lifting consistently about a year ago
>25 pounds of gains

But my problem is, I've been stuck at 165 for so long. And I know it's my metabolism. I know, "eat more calories than you burn and you'll gain weight."
I've calculated it out, most days am around 3,200-3,400 cals, hitting my macros too. But my metabolism is so fast, it's so hard to gain weight.
I don't do any cardio.
I even had an injury and sat around for 2 weeks, still eating around 3,000 cals, didn't gain a pound.

How do I slow down my metabolism? I'm already consuming as much food as I can force down, as well as supps, protein bars, etc. What do?

Guys, is it worth buying the premium version of MFP ? It doesn't do macros anymore in the free version, but I want to track them.

Just started going to the gym again and I'm 6'2"-6'3" ish, should I be aiming for 175 or 180 llbs to maintain at?

I'm 6'3", 205ish, and I'm at around 13-14%. It depends on how much you've developed your frame.

That said, just start working out and eating right. Mince less, lift more.

Pretty durable for the price (two years of frequent use, no issues yet), no big loss if I misplace them.

The sound can drown out gym music but still leave you open to hearing nearby stuff (which is a positive for me, I'm paranoid about stuff like that when I run outside).

Yeah, some are. They make you shit out grease and stuff you would normally get into your body. Not an actual legit way of weight loss, though. Either eat at a deficit or get your stomach tucked if you're a 400kg whale incapable of walking.

So I ran out of money and lived on vegetable soup and rye bread for a week. Basically no protein at all. My head cleared up, I felt fresher and more relaxed. I've noticed this before, as in the more protein heavy my diet is the more brain fog i get. Downsides to not eating a lot of protein was obvious; my lifts went down and I didn't feel like working out, but I made clear mental gains instead. Why does this happen? Do I have to choose between mental gains and muscle?

How much protein do you actually eat when you go protein heavy? I believe that most training people get plenty already.

You may have gotten brain fog from eating less vegetables and carbs rather than more protein.

Did I just experience CNS fatigue?

Came to gym, stretched out, did some warmup and generally felt good.

Decided to do a diddy PR since it was quite some time since I did it. Was engaged in conversation when I was putting on weights so I actually put on 10 kg more than I should have. The weight seemed a bit heavier than the usual but I still managed to do it. It wasn't until I was racking back weights that I noticed it.

About a minute after that I started feeling tired as shit. The kind of aching feeling you have all over you body when you're sick.

Finished OHP and then tried to do some squats. I started struggling at 2pl8 on warmup even though I was doing 3.5pl8 5x5 work sets on Friday. Called it quits because I was too tired and my form was probably horrible because of it.

Came home, took a hot shower and now I'm sitting here with the worst full body ache that feels like I was a crash test dummy. I have never felt anything like this in my life.

What the fuck happened?

/fit/ I've fucked my knee pretty badly, what can I do for leg day now that squats/lunges aren't an option? Would it be useless to do 10 sets of leg extensions and curls?

What did you do to your knee breh?
You can probably add in isometric holds on the leg press and extension machine.
Will probably help maintain some strength without going through full knee flexion ROM.

Okay so I have had an ACL tear and afterwards fucked up the cartilage and about 1 cm of it is missing now to the bone. The pain is not too significant and I can still squat. What helps is not using a wide stance for squats but rather do them at a little over hip width keep your legs parallel and all that shit ( I hope you know how to squat) if you're still in pain be sure you tried for long enough since it actually gets better when you build muscle so you might just have to push through the pain a bit. Squats are actually not that hard on your knees. Idk how fucked your knees are tho so if you're positive they're fucked you might just wanna opt for bodyweight exercises. You can do stabilizinng exercises as well to keep the pain down. So standing on one leg and increasing difficulty (E.g. Instable footing like a mat or something, don't use balls or anything dangerous tho that's crossfit shit). Get physical therapy they'll show you.
If you're so fucked you can do none of this you better get a wheelchair.
