Why do eggwhites have this "high protein" reputation??
this shit has 5/50g protein
It would take me 45 fucking egg whites to reach my daily protein requirement of 140g
can someone seriously explain this??

It's the g/cal ratio that give them a good reputation.

Be honest with me guys
Will my body ever look normal even with weightloss? Im down almost 40lbs and feel better than i have in years apart from back pain (related to previous weight presumably)
Im gonna lose the weight til i hit my goal regardless
But will i ever look normal?

maybe, lose it slowly and lift weights
>>
>>40136957
I lost 120pounds in 7months. That was 4years ago and I still deal with loose skin, which is quite hard to get rid of. It will take a lot of time and effort to get rid of it all, but dont give up. I suggest lifting so you bulk up. That way you wont have loose skin.
>>
>>40136957

How old are you?
If you're in your 20s, you might get away without loose skin, as long as you're smart with your weight loss.

When did you guys realise that flat bench is overrated and that dumbells/incline is far superior for hypertrophy?

30 days after I started lifting and I tried dumbbell bench for the first time. By the way almost no one claims flat bench is better for hypertrophy.

Hello, first time posting but have been coming here for years. I'm pretty well stuck and would appreciate any advice.

I started doing SS two months ago. Went from 6' 180lbs to 200lbs. I'm eating 3600 cals a day. 40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat.
Lifts were B 115, OHP 85, S 135, PC 85, DL 135. Now they are B 190, OHP 120, S 290, PC 155, DL 290.

Now to get to my problem. I never missed a day for two months, every lift going up every workout. Two weeks ago is when I hit all my prs. I ended that Friday on a good note but by Monday I had some pain in my left shoulder and collarbone. I pressed that day anyway, squat bench and DL. No more pain, no less pain.
That Wednesday I went to squat and just wasn't feeling it and my shoulder helped make up my mind that I was going to take a week off. So after one week of no training except for yoga and rotator cuff exercises for my left shoulder, I get back to training.
All lifts suffered by about 20lbs and I'm afraid of PRing my ohp. After a couple workouts my lifts are almost where they were but I'm worried about OHP so I'm leaving it at 100.

My problem is this. After two months I'm up to about 25% body fat (I think I started around 20) and I have this weird shoulder thing. I'm already fucking up the program by taking off a week and I'm afraid to injur my shoulder with OHP pr's.

I basically don't know what to do. If I can't keep up the routine because I'm afraid to pr OHP then what do I move on to. I feel like my bf% is getting high and would like to cut but I don't want to lose gains. Please help!

TLdr; getting strong but getting fat and injured. Want to cut and maintain strength but also not hurt myself more. What do?

>>
>>40136615
why would you bulk at 20% bf as a complete beginner to lifting? makes no sense. you should use your noob gains to get to like 10-12% before doing a slow bulk. start cutting, you still have months of free gains. progress might be a bit slower but it will still be there.

as for your shoulder, do some prehab work with dbs at low weight for lots of reps and stop doing anything that makes it hurt. you can try OHP but if it starts to hurt stop doing it immediately and just focus on prehab for a while.
>>
>>40136615
> gaining 20 lbs in 2 months
You're doing it wrong
>>
>>40136678
I know that it's optimal to start bulking from low bf but I want to get the most out of my novice gains before switching from a strength routine. I'm very dedicated when it comes to gaining or losing body fat so that won't be a problem in the future. I thought it would help my strength and I'll shed it this spring.

And thanks for the shoulder recommendations, I have pretty much been doing that. The pain doesn't happen during the lift

Sort of looks like how the average northern european world strongest man works out.

LOL

But seriously. If people become more mindful of their bodies and that is a little treat to get them to work a bit harder and a post workout meal...
Then so what.
Planet Fatness is for neophyte exercisers who just want to get off their fat or flat asses and go do something fit or health related without dealing with the exercise purists.

Is it recomended to lift without a spotter? I have no friends who lift who I can drag to the gym

use the assisted version, newfag
>>
>>40135976
if you have power rack you don't need one, otherwise i wouldn't bench heavy weight unless you know how to roll of shame and even then you're risking pretty bad injury.

just ask some veterans at the gym for a spot? not that hard
>>
>>40135976
Use dumbbells
Use a machine
Use a rack with supports if nobody else is around
If none of the above just don't lift your max and be careful

Did this really deserve its own thread

Sadly my gym doesn't have one. Tried a ghetto version by lying against an incline and using a dip belt to tie weight around my ankles, but was kinda embarrassing to do. Just doing hyperextensions now.

How to fix hips going up?
Starting position looks decent but then everything goes to shit.
I think im not getting tight enough at bottom and not providing enough leg drive at beginning of the lift, glutes barely firing

>Tfw form autism but cant get it right

At least i dont get lower back pain or anything (i do get some inner thighs pain if i try to thrust my hips forward even with no weight)

Maybe take a plate off? the issue's not your form, the issue is the weight is way too fucking heavy.

Seriously are you trying to snap your shit? Do you think your strength and physique is based on video evidence of how much weight you can pick up off the ground?
