Is it bad to do a deload during a cut? Should I just stick with a weight until I can do it 5x5?
Any one?
Lads, I'm only supposed to have one 1500 calorie meal a day but I need 2200 calories this meal. Can I just eat 1200 the next day to make up for my fatassery?
Don't worry about it, just don't fuck up again
Over time if you're eating at 1500 everyday eating just about maintenance some days isn't a problem
>>42716403
If you're eating 1500 then your maintenance is 2000 (or should be if you're cutting correctly) so it's only 200 calories over maintenance. That's less than a day's work undone since you make a 500 calorie deficit every day
So what's the deal with steam rooms? I'm new to the gym and mine has a dry and wet steam room. Not sure what good they are
just relax in it

>been lifting for 5 years
>deadlift 4 plates for reps
>only ever seen one (1) other person at my gym do this over the last 5 years
Funny that isn't it? Judging off /fit/ you'd think it was common.
No I don't lift at planet fitness, my gym isn't even a franchise gym.
Who else is trying to go /milomode/ and bulk like a legendary, probably fictional, Greek wrestler?
Hey /fit/, I was wondering how well I'm progressing at the gym and if my exercise strategy is correct.
After a few months of lifting, I've managed to get to .5pl8 OHP, 1pl8 bench press, 1.5pl8 squat, and 2pl8 deadlift. For reference, I'm 6'2" and weigh 156 pounds. I lift on Mondays, break tuesday, run wednesdays, swim thursdays, and lift again on fridays, sometimes on the weekend. I consume drinks mixed with protein powder each day after exercise and maintain a relatively balanced diet with a mix of vegetables, fruits, and an emphasis on meat.
Can I make my process more effective by switching around the days or doing something differently? Am I progressing at a decent rate, or am I going slow?
Why does my leg hurts when I bend it over kinda like pic related?

He knows nothing
Do you run?
I got pain in that exact spot back when I use to run. I don't know if it is a ligament or a tendon but 10 years later and I can't run without feeling that pain. I can do squats just fine though.
Just woke up, big deadlift session in a few hours. What's the best way for me to prepare so the shit feels easy?
I've got 175g protein and 40g of fiber already locked into my day for meals after lifting, so I'm gucci for protein/fiber, I just need some tips for fast-digesting carbs right now that wont sit in my stomach. I wanna get a crazy fucking pump.
>>42715833
Bananas, oranges, apples, that sort of stuff.
>>42715843
Wont the fibrious parts of that shit sit in my stomach though? I don't want to be bloated. Apples bloat me.
The oranges and maybe banana seem good.
>>42715833
>fast digesting carbs that won't sit in my stomach
You're contradicting yourself because it takes 6-8 hours to digest a meal. Just eat any fruit and cut your water like an hour before you start working out. Take citrulline malate if you have it too
I'm new to this /fit/ thing, what are some good beginner workouts?

read the fucking sticky
help a poorfag out, no money for equipment, what are optimal exercises I can do at home for upper body? I do 1 hour cardio a day and legs are looking pretty good but upper bod sucks
>>42715579
You do have money for equipment, you're just spending it on video games or some faggot shit you don't need. Learn to budget retard
>>42715579
Chin-ups and pull-ups are great and can be done just about anywhere. Also do push-ups, decline push-ups (feet up), rows with door frames, Aussie pull-ups under a table, grab a couple rags if you're on hard floors or the plastic tops they put on containers of salad or spinach and use them to do flies against the floor.
>>42715621
Also, focus on really slow reps and going to failure if hypertrophy is your goal.

>emaciated fucking twig, go to gym for first time
>sit down at this hydraulic bench press machine, struggle through 55 pounds
>sit down at hydraulic back row machine, struggle through 60 pounds
>sit on leg press machine for the first time ever, can only do 250 pounds even though i bike a lot
Kill me fit
Everyone starts somewhere anon.
Keep at it, we're all gonna make it brah
Then I guess you found out you need to go more.
I recently had to move from the US to a rehab center in New Zealand due to an illness I've come down with. I wasn't a very active person, and I also weighed a lot for my height. 210lbs at 5'7. After coming here and going through the illness, treatment and shitty food, I'm now down to 145lbs. I'm happy for the weight loss, but my body feels extremely weak and helpless. Despite my doctor telling me to not overdo it, I want to at least try to put on some muscle or tone my body. There's not much equipment to work with here, and I'm on a mountain because of the "fresh air". I was wondering if there's any exercises I can do without equipment? I do have access to something that's around 25lbs I can use as a weight. I've been doing small stuff like push-ups, planks, jumprope, and just lifting the 25lb object over my head 80 times. Doesn't seem like the stuff I do is very effective so I just wanted some advice. I've tried to do pull-ups using the door but the doctor told me I absolutely am not allowed to do that. I will put in any effort I can to make my body better so I can stop moving from country to country because of this piece of shit autoimmune disease. Any advice is appreciated. Sorry for any grammar mistakes, I'm american but I move from country to country so often that it's rusty.

>I've tried to do pull-ups using the door but the doctor told me I absolutely am not allowed to do that
that was akward
well if you want mucle mass then you need protein for that
like for your height and weight with 120g proteina day should be fine
i know you wont tell me this bu im curious, what do you have?
>>42715148
NMT (neuromyotonia), thankfully it isn't a fatal illness, but it makes my muscles twitch and stiffen a lot. I also have a fused heart valve that doesn't fully open, so I have trouble breathing during strenuous activity. Despite that, I'm tired of just sitting around and doing nothing so the last year or so I've been doing the light exercises I brought up in the opening post. I've learned to ignore the stiffened muscles and just push through so I wanted to get some suggestions on what I can do further now. I've already tried to ask for a higher amount of protein, but they're keeping me at around 80g a day.
Heh, yeah. I really felt like pull-ups were the most effective exercise I can do, so I began to do them. But the doors aren't very hand friendly here so I started to get cuts on my hands and the doctor noticed and stopped me from doing them anymore.
>>42715307
There are these things you can buy that rest on top of doorframes which have fairly decent pull-up grips. I have one, and I recommend that you use it. They're not totally expensive online, so you can probably snag one. It's a very solid investment and will probably speed your recovery.
As for your workouts, consume lots of protein but remember to balance it with your exercise. Focus on particular areas of the body and go in with a plan. Good luck with your recovery anon.
Does anyone deal with this? I'm not fat I'm actually fairly lean. I could literally eat all day and not have one problem doing it. The only way I ever feel satisfied is if I essentially eat a meal for 4 people. Then after that I just crave sweets. What does it feel like to have no appetite?
>>42715109
That sounds like me. The only time I feel satiated is after stuffing my face with food.
And, like you, I'm not fat.
Most of the time I feel "meh" with the amount I eat.
>I could literally eat all day and not have one problem doing it.
This where my thoughts 3 hours ago.
I have something similar, but it seems to only happen in the morning. I'll wake up at 3 or 4 feeling like I'm starving. I struggle to get out of bed since I'm half-asleep, but I feel like I'm going to get sick if I don't eat. I'll eat, but I'm still hungry, so I eat more. Then I'll go back to bed after an hour or so and then wake up again from hunger. It feels like I haven't eaten anything despite eating enough breakfast for three or four people. As soon as the afternoon hits I feel full and satisfied for a couple hours. I hate it and don't want to eat so much, but I feel miserable and sick if I don't.
This was considered /fit/ in 2009
>>42715101
>this is considered /fit/ in 2017
It's still considered fit to people who aren't interested in fitness
If you do something as a hobby you have higher standards within it than someone who doesn't know much about it

Guy in the middle has nice lats and on the right nice arms, but they all look like baked potatos so they're ugly to everyone except other potatos. I'm just glad we're able to confine the potato-cest to the East coast.
