Hey /fit/, have never posted here before but I would like some help.
Within the next year or so I will be joining the air force in my country but I am pretty underweight. I need to gain weight but I have a really hard time doing it and was wondering if I could get some tips.
My main problem is eating, as I'm very compulsive and don't eat many foods and hardly eat. I think it stems back to physical abuse from my father years ago, but I only eat a select few foods and can't bring myself to try many others and when I do eat its not often.
I never eat three meals a day, because I hardly feel hungry or feel like eating, what can I do /fit/? Could I drink protein shakes and hit the gym to gain weight? I really need help, I feel autistic as fuck and it angers me that I can't just eat rice and white meats, and lots of it. Could anyone recommend anything I should try?

I keep seeing publications like Men's Fitness always pushing circuit routines, especially touting them as a celebrity's workout... like Ryan Phillippe and Jason Statham.

But many good online trainers on youtube etc say to stay away from circuits unless you're a fatty trying to lose weight. Some even shit all over circuit training as the worst thing ever.

Are the celebs endorsing these routines because they're 'a safe bet' in their eyes, or is it really what they do?

If it's a machine circuit, it's already garbage. If its an actual conditioning circuit, it can be useful for developing work capacit and improving recovery. As far as strength goes, gains will be small and only come for a very short period, nowhere near as productive as a strength program.
Bear in mind that these routines are based on the premise that you'll kep subscribing to these resources and give them money. If they give you a program that makes you independent of them, they cease making money from you.

Diet issue (I read the sticky fuck off)

I'm trying to structure my diet 50/30/20 and I'm doing that fine but if I do that I'm not reaching my caloric goal, which is 4,000 calories. I'm 5'11 and weigh 155 lbs and my long term is 160. My diet consists of flank steaks, chicken, rice, sweet potatoes, almonds, yogurt, etc.. Am I eating the wrong food or should my caloric goal not be so high?
