Hey /biz/ I have a question. I just applied for my first credit card and somehow I got approved instantly. The card is Chase Freedom Unlimited and I have decent credit score (716) so I expected to get approved but I didn't realize it happened instantly, I figured there was supposed to be some waiting period while they checked out my information or whatever. I'm not at all familiar with how this process works so I just want to make sure there's nothing shady going on. I'm know that Chase is a reputable company and I know that the website I'm on is the correct one so nothing seems off. Is the approval process for credit cards really this quick? I don't know maybe I'm just being retarded I'm just worried about giving out my SSN.
Nah, that's just how it works now. I have that same card, got preapproval actually, but ignored that offer and did it instantly on their site. I got the same offer/limit/whatever instantly that they sent me a letter for.
Same goes for credit limit extensions, they are done instantly as well, and you get a paper approval letter in the mail a little later.
>>1611670
That's good thanks. Also I'm going to be out of town for the next few weeks until the start of December so I won't actually be able to get the card out of my mailbox until then. Is there some activation process I need to go through after I get the card and will it be an issue that I won't get it immediately?
>>1611657
The card you got is actually very easy to be approved for.

When will UWTI go back up? I started with $200 back in March and got it up to $500, then this happened.

Self bump cause I want answers.
This is a 3x levered ETF with daily reset!!!!!
Levered ETFs are not for holding more than a day or so.
Cut your losses and consider XLE.

>holding UWTI for anything longer than a day or two
How would markets react to a 3D hologram invention that can be mass produced?
don't know how markets would react but investors would give that company ~$1.5bn before they even had a product on market.
>>1611584
What the fuck is a 3D hologram?
It that just a hologram printed around a cylinder or a sphere?
That sounds dumb.
Do you mean a "video hologram". I don't think markets would get too excited, firstly you'd need to look at the processing demands to store that kind of information since traditional raster based video encoding like MPEG4, DCT etc. are just not suitable.
But like, FLy-Eye lenses already have a foothold in that sector, so you'd need to have a proof of concept which is drastically better and implementable with current processing power.
Maybe, maybe if what you actually mean is a Volumetric Display that creates a projection in 3D space - like as if in air, like a SciFi? I could see it creating a lot of hype if properly marketed
>>1611602
i meant volumetric display
So my state just voted to raise the minimum wage from $8.05/hour to $10/hour effective in 2017. How can I profit off of this? Can I take out a loan now and profit off of the increase money I will have next year? I figure I'll buy a lot of food and supplies in bulk to counter the coming inflation.
>>1611540
my country is raising minimum wage every year by 10%
You in az boy? I don't think our basic necessities will go up, housing probably will, gas, and people may lose jobs. That's about it I believe
>>1611540
You could try to short low wage companies like mcjew and Walmart just before their next minimum-wage hiked earnings quarter. It's almost sure to effect their bottom line. Still risky though
hi /biz/
i'm planning on approaching the management of my local mall to install a bitcoin ATM on the premises. I've never done something like this, so I'm not entirely sure how much information to go to them with.
So far I've put together an outline that gives a quick background on bitcoin and blockchain, how it's used by end users and merchants, why it's attractive for businesses, how it can directly benefit the mall (esp. their cut/rent), and information on what legal steps there are for a company to operate a BTC atm
is there other information that I should include? is this too much, too little?
how should i approach the mall's management about this? "I'm interested in renting a spot in your mall for a bitcoin ATM and would love to meet with you to discuss the specifics?"
should I have a presentation ready, should I include a packet that outlines the above points?
thanks my dudes.
>>1611465
i dont see why id ever go to a bitcoin atm, the fee is outrageous
>>1611476
but, if i was paid in cash / a criminal then I can understand, that will be awkward to include in your presentation
>>1611476
you and I, the bitcoin savvy, wouldn't, but as bitcoin becomes more popular, the everyday man will begin going to them. btc atm's perform $20k in transactions per month on average. especially as crypto becomes more mainstream, people aren't gonna want to go to exchanges for the coin
I want to start investing in the stock market, but I don't want to flush my money down the toilet. What are some good sources of info on making smart and wise investments? I'm talking about books and news sources.
Ride the current trends which today are pharma, mj, financial, construction and base metals.
Investopedia is great for building up a base knowledge on how the stock market works, and what the terms are. I would watch through their youtube videos. Are you looking at Trading frequently or very long term investments? I would immediately start a ROTH IRA if you're after long term investments.

at least with the toilet you'd eventually clog it and have a hope to get some of the money back

So I am going to be a career firefighter. I want to save at least 70 percent on my savings so I can invest and make more money. I was thinking about it and even though it is trashy living in a trailer would be the optimal situation for saving money. Basically I would only live in a trailer for 7 years until I saved enough money and invested enough to buy a house in cash. Then I could sell the trailer afterwards. Is it worth it /biz/? Has anyone else here lived in a trailer to save money? Do you guys think it would be worth it vs renting an apartment to do this?
Live in the restroom of a McDonald's
>>1611346
>Do you guys think it would be worth it vs renting an apartment to do this?
You will have to compare prices in your area. Where I am at trailers are generally more money than a cheap apartment. Plus you got to cut the grass!
>>1611381
>You will have to compare prices in your area.
/thread
In my area a trailer costs half as much per month than any of the cheapest apartments.
Plus if you own the land the cost is then negligible.
Raising land prices means I'll actually get my full investment back too.
Holy shit, I don't know what the fuck I'm doing.
I bought a share of NVDA at ~45, just for shits and giggles, maybe collect dividends a couple years before selling for a modest return.
Then THIS happens!
Wat do? I really didn't want to fuck with short term capital gains tax, but the thought of just doubling my money, less the pound of flesh, has its appeal.
Surely there's no way this can last the 6ish months it would take to get to the long term bracket...right?
>>1611190
Get out with the profit. Buy the next dip if you want. Who cares about a little CGT when there's easy money to be had.
>>1611190
It probably won't. Just estimate which gives you more in the long run, selling now or keeping in and watching it drop to something probably lower.
>>1611190
>a share
>literally one (1) share
im happy for you but who the fuck buys 1 share?
How do you deal with a desperate buyer who seems like a creep, ready to murder you in a backalley?
I had some weird face to face buyers and I don't wanna risk it anymore.
>>1611036
You stop listing your shit online you fucking pussy
Fucking hate when people like you have something for sale yet when someone wants to buy it really bad you want to be scared for some reason.
Don't do the deal in a back alley? Do it in a highly public place instead.

This pretty much. Think of it this way: you can make a website for yourself and this bussiness. There's one.
You can make mockups that don't function. So you can save time. Basically, get to work: stop worrying about the chicken and the egg
Any of these you reckon would be good to bet on?
