It seems fine when he's a puppy, but as he gets older that "harmless" behaviour can accidentally knock someone over or hurt them.

Do you have some friends or family members who wouldn't mind helping you out? Assuming he jumps at people when they enter the house of course. get them to come over, and get him to sit calmly when he goes to greet them at the door. Hopefully that behaviour translates to outdoor situations with strangers

another question, do animals feel that they re enclosed?
i mean, do they crave freedom? if they have an easy food source and no predators, why would they otherwise be bothered?
we re talking about decent, big enclosures, not cubicle ones.

I'm totally against zoos and think they've outlived their usefulness to Society. I get them a hundred years ago when people couldn't travel like we do today as well as having electronic video technology, etc to where today we can experience the Natural World almost anywhere. Hundred years ago peopel couldn't do that. Zoos and traveling circuses were the only way peeps could experience other life forms.

But today all of this is, zoos, are not necessary.

Was about to say this, until I read that they need a heat-resistant dog. Greyhounds have very little body fat and can suffer from heatstroke more easily, plus you need to get them things they can use when it's cold. Otherwise a greyhound would be ideal for you OP
