Chem undergrad here. When you say reactions what do you mean? Specific reactions with their associated conditions or the general reactivity of alcohols with other groups? Also are you at high school/college level or uni?

Something similar happened to my gf when i was in HS

She was abused by her uncle, and i was the only person she had ever told.

Well, I guess I'll go for a brief summary of the hardships. Diagnosed with chronic, invalidating disease at the age of 9. Spent most of my youth taking care of grandma with Alzheimer. Dad had cancer. Brother killed himself. Consequent depression.

How did I overcome it.
I took things one day at the time. I wrote down a list of tasks I wanted to get done the day after, and worked on accomplishing those. When I was more stable I worked on more long term plans. Doing things is a habit.
I took care of myself first. I made sure I was eating well, working out, leaving in a clean house.
I thought of issues in terms of "what can I do to solve this?" and not "how much shit sucks?". If nothing could be done to solve a specific issue, I tried to do my best to accept it.
I talked to my loved ones, especially those who were sharing my pain. It felt really lonely and it was good to know I wasn't the only one suffering. I asked for help.
I looked for therapy when I couldn't handle it anymore.

If something negative happens, my mind switches into what I call "scenario mode"
Basically this mode is my mind actively going through possible steps I can take and possible outcomes/consequences for doing so. Normally this all escalates to extremes, so I prepare for like the worst of the worst, then when it turns out not as bad as i had thought, I become super relieved and like 1000% less stressed.

Not much. I'm working at ShopRite part-time, making 8.55 an hour. If she really is pregnant, maybe I could find another job as well.

I think i'm more worried about how my parents and her parents would react. I mean, obviously they'll be disappointed in me, but im not sure if they'll help me out or not.

Talk openly about how you feel and what you are considering
The only to establish anything is through clear communication
If I was you I would speak my mind, claim your property (the afformenfioned QTpie) and revel in a relationship doomed to fail
Or move on and find someone else to boner over

Although if you truly value her you will let her be happy in whatever it is she wants and be happy yourself
The chance of those things being synonymous, especially for an extended period are minimal

Find other people who value you as much as you do them
There are an amazing amount of people who can tick the same boxes and more you are just unwilling to let go because of the time you invested in your relationship

Ultimately whatever you do is meaningless and the result will always be the same

I liked to drink alcohol, and I liked to do that a lot
Mainly cause it helps me socialize
I realized that I am going to get addicted sooner or later, and ever since I never drink alone(still drink with friends or at parties)

It's not as bad as you have it, since I don't even feel the physical withdrawal effects, but I can tell you one thing

Noone can help you if you won't help yourself
Only you can crawl out of this abyss you created on your own
It doesn't mean you shouldn't seek help though

The way I see it, you can get through the withdrawal, suffer for a while and get better or slowly descend even deeper into your addiction, and that's not going to end well

The choice is yours alone
