I've been asked to play DnD tonight with some friends. I'm not the most social person so I'm pretty nervous anyway, and I also have never played DnD. Anyone got any tips?

just focus on the technicalities of the game like doing damage and your abilities. make your background something along the lines of a loner or quiet person.
It's really all on how the DM runs the game, find one that understands or isn't heavy on actual role play.
Is this online or IRL?
As far as not knowing how to play, just memorize your rolls so you don't have to ask every time. Read the players handbook for gameplay and don't hesitate to ask.
>>18668679
I don't think the DM is /too/ roleplay heavy. He's made a world and a couple props and stuff. I think it's mostly about the story and everyone getting together and shit. It's IRL

Do you have the books? Have you read the books?
I want to learn another language. There are about a million ways I could go about this, so I thought I'd ask you guys if you have any experience learning another language.
>>18668677
Check the sticky on >>>/int/
Mostly language learning is about learning the basics and then exposing yourself to regular practice in both written and oral langague, so you can expand upon the basic grammar and vocabulary you learned. Repetition and exposure are really the most important things.
If you're in high school or college then just take an extra language course. If you're not then use Rosetta Stone.

This is helpful, thanks. There are a lot of online options, do you have any opinions on which one is best?
>>18668681
With all the options available, is this really one of the better ones? I feel like I want to try one of the free ones first.
There's a girl in my school library right now doing math, my plan is to get my math book (i have a problem) and ask her for help. Problem is I am afraid of making a fool out of myself bexause I am a sperg and a fucking retard. How do I not embarass myself?
Just go and ask for help like a normal person.
Ask her if she's good at math and if she wants to help you with a problem.
If she goes "yes, of course" then you're in.
If she yells rape the police will come and get you along with a permanent ban from the library.
Don't worry about it. You're 15, you're meant to be a spergy idiot.
Basically, I kinda caught feelings and she doesn't want to see me anymore b/c of it. So I kinda gotta be a deceitful guy and tell her I just wanna be friends so there's some possibility of getting my dick wet by the end of the year, and she's enough of a slut that she would fuck a friend if she was drunk.
Thoughts?

You are a cuck
Live a better life.
You know they can tell, right? Do you think it's a coincidence that everyone, men and women alike, make fun of people like you?
What actually happens if you're diagnosed with depression? Do they just give you happy pills and send you on your way?
yeah thats the gist of it
>>18668621
If you seem to be "high functioning," regardless of how many times you've attempted suicide, they'll just send you to therapy. No meds, at least not for me.
>>18668621
They recommend you someone that you pay to listen your bullshit, give you lots of drugs that make you feel like shit, and sometimes zap your brain with electricity if they don't see improvement.

Am i fat? My bf will subtly tell me so every once in a while. It fucks with me because i know he's had sex with much smaller girls and i'm probably the biggest/tallest. my pants size varies from 0-4 depending on brand/store and my shirts are usually a small. i have a bit of muscle since i go to the gym everyday. I've had an eating disorder in the past and he doesn't know but it makes me feel like shit. Am i too big? 100% serious by the way
>>18668604
Not enough data to tell for sure. Weight as numbers doesn't tell much about what you look like, because it depends on what ratio of muscle and fat you have. But probably you're just fine and your bf might just be a cunt.
>>18668604
No hun if a man can pick you up still then you're fin.
>>18668604
I dunno, need a pic for reference.
I've been depressed and suicidal since I was a child. Nothing has helped. Now I am wasting my life away.
I have goals in life but being productive is so difficult and I keep falling back into my unproductive escapist lifestyle. Sometimes I wonder whether I should just endulge in escapism and an hiro once that is not longer possible.
Why does life have to be so much suffering? It never gets better. Trying to be productive always exhausts me and makes me even more miserable. What's the point of chasing my dream if to achieve them I have to endure decades of daily suffering, live hell on earth?
I just don't know anymore if it's really worth it. I am extremely tempted to just give up on everything. What do you people think?
>>18668597
You keep telling you feel like shit, without specifying why exactly you feel like life is daily suffering. Difficult to say anything to that, really. Go talk to a shrink, maybe?
>>18668603
I just do. If there was a simple reason the problem would have been solved long ago. Why does gravity exist? It just does, there is no why.
>>18668608
Stupid ass response and stupid ass comparison. There are very well researched and developed theories about gravity. Maybe you should make the effort to figure out your why's and how's instead of being just a whiney bitch.
Just need to know if this is unfair or I'm a pussy.
>Hooked up with chick from work twice this month. Known her for 8 months so not just a stranger.
>she made plans this past weekend, she flaked.
>I try and make a follow up, she couldn't.
>let her know I need communication for this fuck buddy thing to work
>tells me she was sorry and she felt horrible
>I also passed up THREE other dates this week to hang out with her, only cause I've known her longest and we work together.
>Come into work this week
>a new hire is her on/off guy friend of a few years
>she's acting all normal around me aka constantly trying to get my attention, just not flirty this time.
>I'm not too responsive. She tries flipping that on me in a teasing way.
>she pokes me or elbows me here and there as she usually sometimes does when she passes by too. So I can tell she still likes me.
>new guy is pretty cool though.
>at the end of her shift she says to everyone she's going to her parents house and gonna wait for her ride
>I already knew her real plan when I saw our work schedule. So I've been thinking about this internally for a few days before.
>she ended up waiting 2 hrs and leaves with that guy at the end of his shift.
She's predictable. But she is in control of when we hook up and this is a problem. It was like a ho-hum in-your-face thing today. Girls I am fwb with are reliable. I don't have much to talk about with her because sexual interest is lessened. So I kinda don't even see her as a friend at the moment.
She also knows I'm talking to other girls in my personal life. But I don't rub it in her face or mention anyone.
I guess I need to understand why I am treated this way. I have a mild feeling of lost expectations and a greater feeling of receiving a fuck you with a smiley face.
>>18668593
You are childlish and so is she. It's not going to work so good luck putting up with her.
>don't shit where you eat
Rule of thumb: if you fail to make a move, someone else will.
>>18668598
Should I deny her next time she asks for it?
>>18668599
Last time she made plans she flaked. When we hook up she busses it after or finds a ride. So it's at her convenience.
How much is it of a turn off when a man is balding/bald in his mid 20s?
>>18668554
Girls are gonna worry that you are going to be completely bald by 30. I have a receding hairline and while I havent had any issues with relationships I can tell my current gf is worried about it. Everyone is going to notice so dont bother trying to hide it. Just try to get a cut that works for you.
>>18668554
It's a 100% turn off when a guy desperately clings to his thinning hair. Just shave it off and you'll be fine.
My clean shaven friend is far more attractive than his housemate with shoulder length but paper-thin and patchy hair.
>>18668592
Yeah I keep my hair short because it looks mega gay slightly longer. I keep mine under an inch or so. I'm still not bald but receding hard, only 26.
Girl I like is sad/depressed. Would asking her what's wrong / trying to help look desperate or nosy?
self hump
how did you acquire the info that she's depressed/sad? how close are you to her? also, have your balls dropped yet?
>>18668532
She told me. Pretty close. Yes, but I just don't wanna mess up
4 months ago i lost my only brother.
i'm 25 and i'll be starting my last year in college next week but
for the last month i really REALLY started thinking about killing my self.
i was in a bad shape mentally because all my friends have graduated but my brother was the last nail in the coffin
what should i do?
>>18668459
>what should i do?
see a counselor mate. im sorry for your loss. you need to find new friends, you are not far away from graduating.
The plastic bag and air filter mask is the easy way.
>>18668459
Sorry pal, must be tough. I think seeing a professional will help you out much better than anyone here could.
How fucked am I for the future if I've been drinking the equivalent of 2-3 large glasses of wine a night for 2 years, ages 17-19?
How deep into alcoholism am I?
How do people stop drinking?
>>18668425
The question is how willing you are to stop or moderate? I know plenty of people who drink 2-3 glasses of wine every night and they are perfectly fine. It's when you can't live without those glasses of wine every night you have to be slightly worried. Can you stop? DO you want to? Have you ever tried? IS it because you are doing it with friends or family and feel you will be looked on with angry eyes if you don't join in?
I'd say, see how you go a few nights without those glasses and measure the urges you have to open a bottle right now. YOu could try moderation by slightly decreasing the amount over a short time, and then for instance only drink weekends.
That's a lot of fucking money down the drain, my dude.
>>18668435
Recently I went a week without drinking. The first day sucked because I got some serious withdrawals but after that I was fine, after a week I chose to start drinking again because I might just genuinely enjoy being drunk. At this point I'm more worried about my long term health.
does drinking coffee actually prevent liver damage?
>>18668440
cheap box wine, my friend
How do people find drug dealers, specifically of psychedelics which are my drug of choice? The only easy to get shit is cough syrup, salvia, and san pedro cacti; cough syrup is hard to stomach, salvia isn't a "fun" drug, and the cacti are hard to prepare.
I used to get drugs from my friends but I moved out of town so I realized I never actually figured out how to find a dealer.
Depends on where you live, generally just look shady and ask shady people.
>>18668399
What am I supposed to do if I just look like some shmuck? I really want to do magic mushrooms in a higher dose since I did a low dose 2 years ago, and the only person I know of who would have them is the one friend.
>>18668396
You can find LSD easily at any rave. Shrooms are probably easiest to come by if you grow them yourself, which is kind of legal where I live. Personally, I prefer LSD. Shit's good.
So i work for a sunglass hut in a macys and today my boss wanted me to relabel some old sunglass tags when she left i went to the corner of our stand to label said glasses. This tall black guy runs past me and
I say hi and he smiles says hi out of breath then leaves. Few mins later i go and see he wipes out 4 guccis and 3 versaces ... Right from behind the register. Security was notified and they said he put them in a bag and left, in a macys¿ Cops came and talked to me, manager drove back to the store as well. The managers at macys dont really care but my manager said luxottica are bitches so
I think i might lose my job over this, any tips?? Been working here for almost a month h and had no theft problems until the biggest theft the store has ever seen drops itself on me
>>18668343
its not your fault, even if you caught him in the act what the fuck were you gonna do?
worked in retail a long time shoplifting happens they will have insurance and allowances for stock lost to shoplifting
they would only ever use it an excuse to fire you if they didnt like you, so hopefully you've been a good employee
if they dont like you then they were going to fire you eventually anyway
>>18668349
Problem is i wasnt in the front of the store but i was off to the side relabelling shit i was asked to do, but they expect me to multitask and watch the front while i do that
>>18668343
I've never head of anyone losing their job because of theft. It happens. If the shop had gotten robbed because you forgot to lock the door, sure you'd probably get fired, but this sounds like there was nothing you could do. Doubtful you'll get fired if you're otherwise a decent employee.
Over 10 years ago when I was a stupid kid in elementary school I stole a book that was lying around to look cool in front of people that didn't even ask me to. I was deeply ashamed for a while back then, but I forgot about it. I just remembered and it's keeping me up tonight. It had the owner's signature (not sure if full name) and I've been thinking if I could see if I could find a way to return it to whoever it belongs to even though they're in another city. Am I being stupid? How do I get over what I've done?
If someone stole your book, how long would it take for you to get over it? Probably less than 10 years right? Let it go, the victim already has.
>>18668307
They ain't missin it
>>18668309
>>18668314
What can I do with the book? It has been collecting dust for over a decade.
