All the manchilds were abuzz with hype about the upcoming Switch launch.
Some nerd was gushing about how Nintendo was his childhood.
I decide to bring balance to the discussion:
"You know, some of us had non-Nintendo consoles as kids."
A dweeb replies:
"Yeah man, I had a Sega as a kid, ah, the big heavy one :)?"
Seizing my chance, I put my finger in the air and exclaim:
"The Saturn has the largest mass of all Sega consoles."
Now everyone at the club keeps calling me Sheldon and I can't get them to stop.
(That fucking LCD is still there)
>Joining a gaming club at college
Serves you right for not hiding your power level.

yeah op you belong here. those phoneys will just judge you. here in the darkness, we're all the same.
>>3821359
what's the deal with that dinosaur anyway?
Wow, what a condescending arsehole!

I'll remember that time gaming 'legend' Dave Perry sulked like a pussy after getting his cunt kicked in Super Mario 64.
Best part was host Dominic Diamond clearly fucking loving it and trolling the shit out of him.

A reminder that if you preferred Bad Influence to Gamesmaster you are subhuman scum.I'd still give Violet Berlin my 'data blast' though. Real talk.
>>3816019
Kimjustice has some great retrospectives on GamesMaster and Bad Influence.
And I would have fucked Violet Berlin until her eyes were straight.
Hey /vr/! How do I get other people into playing old shitty games with me? Nine times out of ten, it's just me, my NES/SNES/whatever I feel that day and alcohol. I have a couple of friends who are into /vr/, but neither of them are too social really. Am I just fucked here? My significant other will play /vr/ stuff with me if I am desperate, but it feels really forced and they clearly don't desire it most of the time.
Drink different types of alcohol.
>>3804779
Don't really see how that'd get other people involved.
>>3804771
Funny that you made this thread because I was thinking of the same thing earlier today. I have a decent gaming room with lots of retro, but few people to share it with.
saved this 5150 from being tossed in the dumpster at my local thrift. it was returned as broken because it can't internet.
it was upgraded with CGA graphics , extra ram, 40mb HDD and even some flavor of tape drive.
once i track down some working disks to verify the drives work I'll probably sell it and get a C64 or atari st.
Its very tempting to keep this sexy beast but space is limited and I don't see myself using it often.
>>3824013
That thing looks like an elec hazard
>>3824053
how so?
>it was returned as broken because it can't internet
Seriously? I don't want to live in this world anymore.
Fallout 1 & 2 Thread;
Post your favourite moments, characters, easter eggs, mods...
How come Fallout has such a good interface?
I tried playing Underrail recently, and it was pretty much garbage.
>>3823289
True, also graphics, especially Fallout 2. I never could get into Underrail, mostly because of the setting, I wish they made it outside, in the wastes.
>>3823313
Yeah that's true too. Fallout 1/2's grittiness and blood makes it much more appealing
Also Underrail was clearly written by a foreigner retard, while FO1/FO2 are written by Americans.
underrated games thread? I'll start.
>>3823171
Waiting for you to start, OP.
great game, hard as shit, and if you plow through like you think you can, youll get your ass kicked fairly early. music is also fantastic
Haha, I know, right?
Only 10th place? Those people must be fucking kidding me.
I've started a NES collection recently after selling my PS4. Problem is, the games are really expensive. Do you guys think I should just sell it and buy an original PlayStation instead? It has more games, and they sell for pretty cheap as well. Any input is appreciated
Just use a ps2 to play ps1 games
>>3822779
Buy a bullet and a gun
>>3822785
I would, but I like to keep things pure when I'm retro gaming. Sounds dumb but something that just adds to my experience
Did you beat it?
>>3822476
it doesn't sound very fun
Is this game beatable on an NES with an adapter? It uses the Famicom's microphone in some way, right?
>>3822476
Yeah a little while ago.
Wait, do you mean the game?
I just want a translation of this game, is this ask to much?
>>3822281
Just watch the GCCX episode if you want to know the plot, then play the game yourself if you still want the gameplay experience.btw the ending is crazy as fuck, totally worth.
>>3822298
But still hard to navigate in the menus and play the games
>>3822331
>play the game
Fixed.
How do you play this game? How does it compare to Boomerang?
I've played both a handful of times but don't really understand the mechanics beyond basic shmup stuff. Like, how do you surround an enemy in magic (as opposed to just a regular grab) so you can rack up insane combos? I've done it several times but had no idea how. Any other game play mechanics that set this game apart from other shmups?
>>3821197
I like cute anime girls 2 op
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-SlkhfU4T4g
i really like these games, put in a bunch of effort getting that saturn emulator working properly with this cotton 2, I would like to buy a saturn and this eventually
i haven't played boomerang but compared to other cottons i think 2 is the best feeling
i think theres some pachinko machines... i wish there would be a new cotton game someday with a nice western release :)
So can anyone tell me how to start a combo? I do it randomly sometimes (putting an enemy in a magic bubble) but I'm not sure why it happens
Is it really worth owning one of these when it only has RF out and hardwired controllers? I bought one for ten bucks and I hardly ever touch it because of how much of a pain it is to use with my PVM. Are the benefits of the original model (all I can think of is the sound) worth enough to not just buy an AV Fami?
The microphone is the only notable feature that they have over the AV famicom. They're definitely inferior to the AV famicom at least hardware-wise but I actually like the case design more than any of the derivatives.
>>3820790
lrn2mod scrub
>>3820790
Eh. Depends on what you want from it.
AV mods on the original famicom almost always give jailbars. If that matters to you, an AV famicom would be best.
The AV famicom still has the extra sound channels. The mic loss is not that big of a deal imo
Are there any mods for this game which change the starting weapon? I'm sick of being stuck with a melee weapon every time I start a new game.
You can throw the spear my dude
>>3820629
It's not that hard to find a gun as soon as you exit Arroyo.
I don't want to fuck around with CRTs, I want to play some retro consoles on a big LCD TV. Should I get it? Price isn't really an issue.
You might as well just emulate, buy a rPi3 or NES mini and hack that.
>Price isn't really an issue
Yes then. It's good. Might want to upgrade that LCD too while you're making it rain.
Enjoy your lagmeister OP
Hello /vr/, I these up at goodwill for $2.00 a piece. How did I do?
Have you ever found some cool vidya shit at thrift stores?
>>3819676
Hm. I rotated the photo and saved it over the original, not sure why it turned out that way.
Oh well.
Cards are in really great shape. I don't have a console to test them, working on that now.
I guess the last one died. I picked up a greatest hits Fighting Force yesterday for $2 and these earlier this week for 75 cents each I was happy about.
Not nearly as good as yours though. Crazy that's still out there in the wild. Keith Courage was the pack in but still probably worth 10x what you paid. Splatterhouse is quite desirable though. Would love to have that.
>>3819676
Keith courage sucks
What would be the ratio of good games to shit games for each sega console/handheld?
autism much?
get:out
>>3819630
What a mature post. Am I on /v/ or something?
