Does it really exist?
Probably not.
It was just an early version of Tempest.
>>4076124
It does. My dad worked at Nintendo when they made it.
What are /vr/'s thoughts on UltraHDMI for N64?
Laggy garbage.
>>4071293
>/vr/'s thoughts
That it's shitto.
The Voice of /vr/ has spoken.
N64's graphics hurt my eyes and this does little to change that.
She needed more screen time.
>>4066141
>my first boner was n64
She needed less screen time
>>4066141
>that fucking moan-speak
hnnnggggg
hey /vr/, do you guys recommend skipping the first suikoden game or not? if i've never played any of them before and this will be my first time.
>>4053790
Nah, don't. 2 doesn't continue the plot of 1, but it brings back a large amount of characters. Suikoden 1 is a good game in its own right and is also quite short for an RPG. You could easily complete it in about 20 hours.
You can also import your endgame save from 1 and recruit the protagonist in 2. Unless you plan to do some patching on the 2 ISO, give him a name that starts with a capital M. Due to a bug only capital letters transfer over.
>>4053807
im not sure how to do the endgame save import, im planning to emulate the game. Could you perhaps elaborate on this if you think its relevant ? (keep in mind im pretty new to retro gaming). in either case, ill start with the first one so thanks
>>4053825
Save the game on an emulated memory card. You'll be prompted to import data when you start a new game on 2.
Vehicular Combat General? Just got my "twisted metal" cherry popped
Cars feel a little too fast and the physics make absolutely no sense sometimes, but 4 is still fairly serviceable
Vigilante 8 will forever be my favorite game of this genre.
The SW and 70s themes combine well with car combat, the music is pretty badass, and the weapons give a huge range of options when dealing with enemies with each standard weapon having two special uses.
Good replay value with stuff to unlock, and scoring combos with finishing moves adds even more badassery to an already awesome game.
IMO, better than TM2, but objectively, I can only say it's that game's equal.
V8 and TM2 are both pretty much as perfect as car combat can get in their day.
Only graphical and sound enhancements using modern tech could improve upon them. As far as gameplay goes, there is nothing more to do.
Also, I'll give a nod to Battletanx. Not as refined, but still good, and it had tanks. Nuff said.
>>4090584
>and the weapons give a huge range of options when dealing with enemies with each standard weapon having two special uses.
Weren't all weapons useless, aside from straight rockets and cannon? You can't hit anything with mortar and interceptor missiles, and they do shit damage.
>>4090597
It's all about range. Different gear has different range. Of course you can't hit anything accurately from half a map away. That would make things too easy.
Sticky mines are great when you're being chased by some pimply cunt in a school bus, and the mortar is awesome for whammies and totals.
How embarrassing.
Return to the Joker is not a good game anyway.
It looks good but it stops there.
It's the worst Batman game on NES, even Returns is much better.
>>4090489
MD version was developed by western devs
>>4090492
>It looks good but it stops there.
But Genesis version can't even get there. It stops even before that.
You'd think this would have came up in conversation before.
>>4090210
Maybe it did and Red didn't believe him.
>>4090210
He probbabbly would have gone on a vengeance crusade and got killed wouldn't he
until all the Gi got genocided by Shinra or

some sort of nigger giants?
>>4090272
The boss at the end of the cave is a Gi. So yes, giant niggers.
but Pepper he knows, if the Brickster catches you your bricks are toast

I played the shit out of this in computer lab.
How come the sequel never reched this popularity despite having much more content?
Arr! On the high seas or on land
you are no match for the great Captain Redbeard!
So give it up, matey! Har har
Did anyone else here play this?
No. Nobody here has EVER heard of it. As far as we're concerned you've just made the game up so you could post this thread.

Dumb summerfag
Which is better? I recently started playing emulation with an old Wii I had with a CRT TV and honestly it seems to work like a charm.
Is this the best alternative to emulation for NES, SNES, N64 and Sega Genesis? I don't care for other consoles to emulate.
The VC N64 games on Wii run better than on Pi and it costs extra to make Pi do 240p so you're probably good where you're at. Invest your budget in controller adapters
>Is this the best alternative to emulation for NES, SNES, N64 and Sega Genesis?
Pretty much, the Wii's N64 selection is extremely limited but the Pi can barely play anything so it wins out.
>>4089127
Also with the newest build of Not64 the few N64 games that do run well enough can be played in 240p. You have to edit an .ini there isn't an in app option for whatever reason
How do I get this fucker working with Windows 7? I've had this flash cart (It's 256MB, the label fell off overtime) for a while and I rediscovered it again while doing some cleaning. I have a printer port to USB cable, but that's not working. Help a bro out before I spend $60 on an EZFlash?
Check your PC's mobo to see if it has a LPT header.
It should be on the very bottom edge.
>>4088861
lmao just pull out an old desktop running XP or 2000
>>4088897
Not all of us have one of those. If you do, can I have it?
Despite having a massive hard on for anything feudal Japan related, I've never played this series beyond a couple of minutes or so. Where should I start? Which games have been translated? It's unfortunate a series so beloved in Japan went completely under the radar in other regions.
Also, if you know any other games in the same vein as pic related (light hearted, full of Japanese mythology and youkai) feel free to post it because I'd love to try it out.
You don't really have to play the games in any order, but I'd recommend starting with what's available in english first, I have played and liked the SNES Mystical Ninja (which I think is a good starting point), and both N64 games. I haven't tried the Game Boy games, I hear one of them isn't that good, but the others are, I think the GBC game was only released in english in Europe.
I've beaten Mr. Goemon, SNES GG, NES GG2, Mystical Ninja 64, and Goemon Dynamite, and of those, the N64 game is the best. I heard the SNES sequels and GGA are even better though. There's also one on PSX I'd like to try, but it has adventure elements and it's only in Japanese.

The Goemon games on N64 and the main reason I kept the console.
What's your favourite Castleroid, /vr/?
I can't choose between SotN and PoR.
OoE for me. It's a bit peculiar, but good.
PoR was my least favourite, the "you need to play as the chick too , you know"-mechanic felt kinda forced. I just wanted to whip things.
Reminder:
PSP SOTN > Saturn SOTN > XBLA SOTN > PS SOTN
>>4088862
Yeah, that's why you download a .sav file that already has Richter mode unlocked, the proper way to experience PoR.

No it's obviously a quote from Duke Nukem silly
What ridiculous console rip-off clones did you have in your childhood? Not everyone lives in a rich first world place, duh!
Found one in the thrash when I was 14.
We had some weird chinese Dance Dance Revolution knockoff dance mat with built in dancing game. It was like those knockoff NES consoles that had 8-bit knockoff games, but with retarded 8-bit dancing game instead.
It was something absurd. The music was undancable bleep bloop "music". There was a video of it on youtube years ago, but I can't find it anymore.
